Hey everyone! Recently I just got my New HTC HD2 (TMOUS) Version, and I was wondering what case you guys have on your HTC HD2 or what case you have seen out there (ebay, amazon) that you believe is the best or Really good!
If you have a link to the Case website that would be fantastic!
Things I was looking for in a case:
~ Not to Bulky (Has to fit nicely into my pocket )
~ Screen Protection (Can use Screen Protector)
~ Camera Protection ( Noticed the Camera sticks out a little, and don't want it to get scratched)
~ Maybe Button Protection (Not needed necessarily)
Thanks!!
sounds like the Otterbox Commuter fits your needs
i have one, got it since it slides in and out of my pocket nicely, has a good screen protector, protects the camera, and has the buttons all covered.

It doesn't interfere with the stick on screen protector. It's not real bulky but I will say that it collects some lint/dust where the rubber part of the case is still exposed and on the camera lense (if you're keeping it in your pocket). It covers the buttons and I really like it.
With the nature of my flashing addiction, I actually drilled a small hole so I can soft reset without having the remove the case. It was ***** to line it up.

Otterbox co-op.
Would be 10/10 if they would create some sort of anti-lint surface *sigh*

Looks pretty good, but does it offer good protection from falls??
Look at my SIG for details trust me what I used was simply superior lol.
Shell: HD2 Clear Body Glove
Protector: Vikuiti DQC-160
You might want to search it for yourself as most review was posted in this very forum, old username: HyperNode.

Thread was stagnant for 2 months. I kinda hope the guy has a case by now.
I'm using the capdase alumnor. Very nice case.
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
I find the standard HD2 cases have a nice tight fit in which the my TMOUS HD2 doesn't slip out of like the one that came with the phone.

The PDAir leather case works well.
Link? And some pics of it in use would be sweet (to see fitment). All I see on ebay is PDair cases for ipods but if it's anything like those they look pretty nice
Has anyone tried this case:

Looks to be made specifically for the Sprint Touch.
It's hard to tell from those small pics but based on the position of the cameras mirror it's for the GSM model

Has anyone tried the InvisibleShield full phone cover?
http://www.invisibleshield.com/smartphone/htc/touch-cdma.php
Someone had that in the Elf forum along with photos. I've ordered it but I'm thinking of just using it on the screen and shiny parts at first.
The silicon cover Verizon has fits perfect, only thing I didn't like was there is no clip included.
Invisible Sheild
I ordered invisible shield. Not bad, I like the back piece and the screen piece. There are other small pieces that I found annoying. I'd rather it to have been in 2 big pieces like the ipod touch.

The dont offer full phone cover for our phone.
Only the screen protection.
Im guessing because our phone is rubber and that plastic wouldnt play nice.
I bought Invisible shield for the vogue and i ended up taking it off because of the friction it caused when i would swipe.
I know there are several threads about cases for the HD2 here, but a few are about leather cases (which I do not want to use)...there some about the silicone/ gel cases which I would like to use, and theres the invisible skin type which I would like to know more about. I do not know if the Invisible Skin/Armor ..w/e you want to call it -they seem the same to me... are tough enough to truly protect the phone from a fall ?
I also would like to know if there are any silicone/gel cases which are thinner than usual but still provide adequate protection...
One good example I can think of is this one case I saw on an iphone -it was a clear hard case, but it was very thin which made me really like it...

Just got the Silver Case Mate Barely There today. Brilliant stuff - super snug, mirror finish, super thin. As thin and light as More-Thing's cases in fact, which I used to use when still on a Touch HD. Finger magnet but love it anyways

Better go cheapo-if i'd get a nice looking case, i wouldn't want THAT to get scrathed up either!
I ordered the capdase protector, seems to be really nice. the invisible shield and stuff like that offer no drop protection i hope mine will offer some.
Hmm... the barely there case not available yet for Tmo US HD2
I bought my "barely there" case direct from HK. Problem is, if you have multiple batteries like I do, you tend to scratch your phone when removing/replacing the case to get to the battery cover.
This led me to use the clear/invisible armor/shield, but I've had to remove the section that covers the antenna because it seems to cause rapid battery drain - see my post at thread 652013.
I received

and i find it's great.
is it much different than the one shipped with the hd2?
Tried quite a few cases but my fav so far is this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390149733765&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Also known as flexishield case. It's like a soft plastic / gel case so glides in and out of your pockets easily and doesn't stick/attract lint like some silicone cases. It offers good protection but only adds about 1mm thickness to your phone.
I recommend black/gray but the choice is yours.
I actually ordered one like that...
but I find it hard to believe that it only adds 1mm thickness, 1mm is like a screen protector thickness almost....idk maybe I am wrong?
Okay maybe two then
But certainly doesn't add much at all. A screen protector is micron thin. I don't think it adds 1mm...
There are also variations in the gel type cases. Some are actually thicker. My friend bought a similar one but was quite a bit thicker. It had like a checked pattern on the back.

I'm interested in ordering one, but since the price is a bit high i'd like to now more.
Picture of the HDII in the case and of the HDII next to the case would give a good impression of the total size increase.

Hi ET.
Ive had the defender case for about 4 weeks now and all I can say is ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!..seriously
The phone is so much more rigid and feels like It can withstand a real drop! The screen film on the case has tiny pores so you can use the screen just as effectivly as you would without the case.
The rubber parts of the case are VERY thick, approx 3mm thick which protects the corners from almost any bumps and scrapes.
On the back the speaker is protected with what can only be described as a rubber membrane which allows sound to pass through as loud as it would be without the case. The camera lense is protected by the same film as on the screen.
The lightsensors on the front are still exposed so the screen powerdown in a call is not affected.
The button protectors are built into the case so there are no gaps between the buttons which prevents dust from getting between the buttons.
The downside to the case is it does add a considerable amout of bulk to the HD2. But my HD2 cost me a pretty penny and I am in NO position to even think of breaking it Also if the phone crashes and you need to pop the battery out is a bit of a pain to get open esp when your in a hurry!
Any questions just PM me or leave a post on here.
Hope this helps you.
It's not that I can't affort the defender case but I choose my case very carefully, it has to meet my demands I have alway's been using Pielframa cases wich are pretty expensive.
Could you please post pictures;
1. of the HDII next to the case
2. of the actueal screenprotector(s)
The HDII without any case is perfectly flat for smooth opperating the touchscreen, no upstanding edges, in the Defender case I notice that there seems to be an upstanding edge, does this interfear with smooth swiping over the screen (like unlocking the lockscreen)?
I've been looking on the web for a video placing the HDII in the case b ut couldn't find anything.
here are some pics of what someone else has posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7053061&postcount=88
I have this case and while it is a great case the raised edges oaround the screen do hinder the the swypeability somewhat, I use this case for when I am working or doing something more extreme, biking etc and for this it is excellent protection but i wouldnt use it everyday as I find it a little too restrictive for that use, I work with stone and so dust is everywhere all the time and for this it is the best for my purpose but maybe for everyday use the Commuter seems adequate, I will post some of my own pics when i get time as I can understand your questions on size etc...I would have like to have seen the same but in the end I just went for it. It even just fits with my bodyguardz protection still on which is a bonus!
In addition I would have to say what swung me from the commuter was the holster this is brilliant and a massive plus if you want to keep your phone to hand without fear of it getting crushed or broken

Ok, I bit the bullit and ordered one this afternoon, it will arrive next monday I hope. If nobody is willing to post pictures then I will!
I'll keep you guy's posted.
Ok, case arrived this morning and boy what a case! It fits perfectly and is nice to hold in in your hand. It does make the HDII feel bigger and looking at it, it does but it just looks and feels perfect, some pictures;
Some more pictures;
The protective screen is attached within the font shell, kind of a dust magnet but cleaning it first in the bathroom would work good (less dust in bathroom). The front and rear shell click in to place and then the rubber protective casing fit's like a glove.
Received mine just this morning mate! and it makes my hd2 more superior regarding the size! ahaha! it looks like it's the king of htc phones! The screen protector that is attached in the front shell is perfect, because of the dust magnet effect of it. Plus the rubber case covers it all and also the protection for hardware buttons is excellent! Worth the money and time of waiting! Sorry can't post pics now(i'm @ my office..) ahah!
It is really recommended to have one of this, specially if you want a secure $$$ phone.

What type of texture does the Otterbox Defender have? Is it a smooth/slipper texture or more rubbery/rough/tacky texture? Is the exterior texture prone to attracting dust/dirt?
What is the best way to clean the screen on the defender? WOuld it be prone to scratches or damage/tear?
IS the Defender easy to take apart if one had to remove the battery to reset or change?

rubbery/rough/tacky texture. not really a dust magnet, except for earpiece, it's not covered and become some kind of pit. search forum on how to clean the earpiece grid.
i just wash it. but i read somewhere "never wash it" because it got pores. it's plastic that look like it's prone to scratches, but apparently it's not quite. but if you carry it with your loose diamond in your pocket, i guess you can still scratch it.
took less than a minute the first few time, but you can do it blindfolded in few seconds after a while.
Everyone that's saw my phone on the defender case was amazed by it! this really is a must have case.. it is really worth it!

Video would be better
Got the Defender and (as you may have noticed in my previous scribbles) am EXTREMELY satisfied - though I just ran into my first qualm with it. I overly tightened a screw connecting the stylus cradle and created a crack in the belt holster. Completely my fault but I still think it's worth mentioning here.
Recap: don't tighten the screws connecting the pen cradle with the belt holster too much. My ratchet snapped (so hard I consider myself lucky to have been wearing eyeglasses, as a metal cog flew high velocity towards my eyes upon the occurance) and my belt holster now has a crack going through it's topside all the way through the plastic (still feels sturdy, just not as reassuringally whole) adjuscent to the respective screw placement.
DuperMan
have just bought one of these, it is awesome, best case i have ever had for any phone.

Hi mate! the OP posted pics of his Defender Case. Well, it's just the same. The screen protector was attached on the front face plate. Everything was covered except for the part of the light sensors. You'll get along with removing the parts for sure! At first it would really take you a few minutes before you can remove your batt just to reset the phone.
Yep...plain simple...which one is THE sexiest HD2 body glove/cover.....right now m using the plain rubberized case which came with the phone !!
I like the Body Glove Kickstand case, but this looks pretty badass

For a plastic case, I REALLY like this one::
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CASE-MATE-BLACK-BARELY-THERE-CASE-HTC-HD2-LEO-/130425023698
slips easily in and our of your pocket and is barely noticable if the phone is sitting on the table.
For work, I used this one for a european HD2 ::
Only problem was that, since I use android and regularly need to slide down the notification bar, I COULDNT use this as the aluminium frame comes to the edge of the screen and I couldnt touch the notification bar.
Solution:::
Its actually the PDAIR aluminium case for the T-Mobile HD2. Whilst the Tmous phone is slightly bigger, it doesnt matter with this case as the fit is SOOOO tight. Nice neoprene lining on the case to act as a shock absorber and the belt clip is brilliant for it. REALLY secure, but really easy to get the phone out.

Amazing case.

I ran past this thread, and saw the case and thought it looked similar! I own one lol.
I have it sitting on my desk collecting dust, it definitely makes the phone thicker, but I guess that what the case is supposed to do. Camera cutout doesn't scratch, it's flush against the phone. My biggest pain with that case was the buttons, they weren't tacticle, the power button didn't click, it'd just rub and I wouldn't be able to tell if I had pressed it or not, etc. I wish they would have smoothed out the edges near the usb-c, kind of scrapes my pinkies when I text All 1st world problems for me!
Hope this helps!:good::highfive:

do you think it's a better case than the rhino bump guard? I have the 5x with the rhino and it makes it a little wider but it offers good protection. but I wish it was a little bit slimer.

Believe it or not, I actually think the rhino looks a little thicker. I personally have never been a true believer of the bumper cases because of my own experiences; but I do think I'd take the supcase over the rhino. As much negative connotation I put on it, it's one of the better cases available for the Nexus 5X, in my opinion. If I were you and I had the option to use Supcase or Rhino? I'd choose the Supcase 10 out of 10 times, because it saved my phone numerous times.
Just my 2 cents!
thanks I held back on the ringke because the camera bump isn't out far enough to protect it from drops, while the rhino has its flaws its very strudy and strong and protects the phone well just the design and the bulk is a bit annoying, something slimer would be nice.

That's a good point, it's funny how they wouldn't make the bump higher considering that's one of the more important things to be protected

...My biggest pain with that case was the buttons, they weren't tacticle, the power button didn't click, it'd just rub and I wouldn't be able to tell if I had pressed it or not, etc.

I had the same problem but what the guy does to a different case in this video made them much better but not perfect. Slit the sides of each button right in the seam but leave the top and bottom still attached.
I have this case too.. and yes the buttons!! I'm not quite sure what it does.. but if you just brush against the buttons while this case is on they'll activate whatever button it is. The main reason I use a case is because of the camera. I'm always afraid the lens will scratch but that could be an irrational fear.
Accidentally put the steam iron on top of my phone, thank God for the Supcase Unicorn Beetle! No harm to the phone!
I use it too. It's a very good case, with a good-looking skin and a high capacity of protection : I droped sometimes my phone and it has never been breaked.
Only bad thing is that tempered glass protectors don't fit with it. At least the ones that i tested.

Unfortunately for me the delivery costs more than the protectors, unless i find some local retailer selling spigen stuff
I have been using this case since I got my 5x about a year ago, and I love it. I haven't had any issues with the button sensitivity, and it works great.
The case is a bit scratched up now, as I'm pretty heavy user with my phone (running cabling thru ceilings & using it as a flashlight etc), but the camera is scratch free, and so is the screen. I use it without a screen protector, as the only time I've had screen cracks with other phones have always been sideways impact, which this case protects against.
My Fiance also has a Supcase on her LG G3, and it looks a little different that this one, but protects it great. I would def buy these again.
