Forgotten Pin on phone [SAMSUNG DIVE] - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi i really need some help here. I stupidly was testing out the samsung dive mobile tracker feature and forgot i already set a pin for it. So when i locked it, i cannot remember the pin at all. I've tried everything.
Is there any way for me to flash the phone or reset it at all? Bare in mind i haven't flashed this apart from the official way of using samsung kies. I don't mind using ODIN if i have to flash it that way. It's just a case of whether ill be able to connect it up to my pc because it asks for a pin and there is no way of actually getting in by using a forgotten pin method.

Easy -.-'
Just start phone in Recovery Mode (Speaker Up + Home + Power) and select factory reset.

[Q] Locked due to too many pattern attempts

Hello everyone!
My first post here, so you guys better outshine me!
So my nephew locked my sister SG1 i9000, and I've tried most of the methods to unlock it. As far as I know she don't got a google account synced with the phone.
Following methods did NOT work:
Vol up+home key; off button
hooking it up with the PC
[email protected] / null
Does anyone know what to do to unlock it? I don't care about data loss or such, I just want to unlock it.
Thanks!
If you don't care about losing ur personal files, boot into recovery mode (hold "Volume Up+Home+Power" as you turn on your device).
You'll see a list of options to choose from. In this menu, touch screen does not work. Use volume up and down to navigate up and down on the menu and "power" to select.
You'll see "factory reset". Go there and select it.
Reboot your phone.
This should make your phone go back original default settings with all the accounts cleared, also screenlock to original sweep glass unlock.

Yeah. I can confirm this works. Had to do it to a friends LG. So different phone but some problem.
Sent from my Photon via XDA
yeah, go to recovery(volumeup+home+powerbutton)
try turning off your phone by removing battery and go to recovery as you turn your phone.

if still doesn't work: do the download mode, then use odin in pc, connect your phone to pc. and flash speedmod kernel. and install rom that works in odin. like the XXJVS 2.3.4 rom. u can find it here in xda, install via odin and done. like phone is brand new.
Samsungs are by far the easiest Android phones to flash. Be happy that you don't have a locked bootloader like Motorola. Flash a new ROM in download mode, and your problems are easily solved...

Tried the vol up+home method; factory reset and it still doesn't work. Tried once more, and this time i removed the battery. Still no result except that all data is cleared.
I've also tried to connect it to the PC but my computer does not "find" the cellphone. Do I need some kind of program? (Like a samsung version of PC Companion for SE)
Thanks for your replies!
You need the samsung USB drivers for your PC to see the phone.
you can download the drivers from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
just make sure you select the right drivers for your operating system x86 or x64

[RESOLVED] Please Help! Forgot Lock Screen Password - Unrooted!

Apparently i've changed my lockscreen password this morning which i'm sure i remembered the changed password but i could not access into my phone ever since. I've gone through the forum for the possible ways to resolve my issue but i couldn't find the best way to do it as some threads are most probably out of date.
I would still want my data to be kept therefore i did not perform the factory reset. The data i would like to maintain are my contacts and pictures.
My phone is unrooted, it's probably not usb debugged as well. I'm unsure of the firmware version of my phone too.
I did not try to root my phone yet because I am not sure what I'm doing and am not sure if i can actually root it when my lock screen is locked.
Please advise on how i can resolve the issue without losing my data. I do not mind having an option to copy my data out from the phone storage before resetting my phone though.
Thank you!
Updated:
Apparently i had registered my phone with a samsung account which allows me to unlock my phone via the "where's my phone" through the Samsung website. I did not root nor factory reset my phone for this, but i still appreciate everyone who replied to my post! For anyone who is having the same problem with me and unfortunately did not have an account with Samsung/gmail, you might want to look through the suggestion below! :good:

Ok, first of all You have to root Your phone with this file: http://adfoc.us/4207233512571
Put it on Your external sdcard, reboot Your phone into CWM (volume up+home+power) and flash it. Great, now You have root.
Since You don't have usb debugging enabled You will have to use aroma file manager.
Before running aroma file manager in CWM make sure You have data mounted. (mounts and storage->mount data).
If You have it installed go to: /data/system/ and delete such file as "gesture.key" and some other "*.key" files in case there are some others.
Ok, now You should be done. Reboot Your phone. If it won't boot You will have to flash good kernel, but I think this should work.
One more thing, reseting data won't delete Your pictures as they are stored on sdcard and contacts are probably synced to google account.
In case You had some questions or problems just ask me.
I'll answer as soon as possible. If You will need some faster help we could talk on Facebook or Skype.
There are too many ways to reset your lockscreen.. I will give you the easiest way (Make sure that you are using the way I will give for your own phone, not someone else phone, as we don't want to get in trouble..!!)
1. Download @Phil3759 custom recovery from here (the zip one).
2. Download [updater-script]_Remove_LockScreen_Security.zip from attachment in this thread here.
2. Put both zip files in sdcard
3. Reboot to recovery mode by pressing and holding Power button + Volume up + Home button simultaneously.
4. Once you are in recovery, flash Philz recovery.
5. Reboot to recovery mode again (press and hold Power button + Volume up + Home button).
6. You will be in Philz recovery now, just flash [updater-script]_Remove_LockScreen_Security.zip which will remove the lockscreen security.

[Q] N7000 bricked - No USB connection possible

ok first things first, imma noob, and i did a stupid thing.
It started in last summer when i wasnt able anymore to connect the N7000 to my WIN 7 64bit (probably after an update to ICS /JB).
Well since i never needed to transfer files (64GB-sdxc) i didnt care much about it. but then in last times my phone/ram cache was full of so much unblockable bootloaded crapware so that i wanted to switch from a official 4.1.2 firmware to cyanogen. But since my USB wasnt working it wasnt that easy.
Side note: the USB-port was ****ed up before (short-circuit, screen woke up due to fake-loading). i fixed that by luck and some dark magic.. so of course i thought the connection problem were because oif the broken jack.
The day before yesterday i tried for 8 hours anything i could find to install another bootloader and flash CM (CWM / TWRP / Triangle away / minimal adb/fastboot etc.); didnt work, CWM seemed to boot up but loading failed all the time at 1/3rd of the bar at screen went black.
Yesterday my friend came over and i tried to use his USB-jack to connect my phone to my Pc, which failed. THEN i put the "broken" one from mine in his N7000; that was efficacious, everything worked fine, so the USB-jack wasnt the problem.
Later i had, out of frustration, moronism, and anger, the glorious idea to download and flash another (older) Kernel via mobile odin to install an old gingerbread stock rom on it afterwards.
That was stupid as i know now, all i can do now is enter download mode, but without USB-connectivity and the stock bootloader with the options reboot system / update from sd / wipe data / wipe cache / test redbend fota(FS) and boot, which stucks at the N7000-screen.
After i managed to **** things up i found an article which describes my (now former) USB-problem perfectly. it says to put in a special number combination on the phone to get to phoneUtil and then switch from modem mode to pda mode. i knew this screen before but i couldnt find it at the preferences on JB.
Now comes my question: What could be done to unbrick my phone? is there any help?
Can you not try another USB cable? Try cleaning out the pins and see if it works. Then flash speedmod.

>Just to clarify: with USB-Jack i mean the USB-Port with the connector to the motherboard; sorry if i misused the word
I dont think so cause we used only his cable when he was here and my phone neither connected with mine nor with his USB-Jack, but both Jacks worked on his phone.
Pro-question: Is there a difference between (usual) USB-connection in booted mode and connection in download mode? i mean is download mode something like a "safe mode" where the USB doesnt need to run on 100% availabilty? Should i try to find the phone via Odin in downdload mode again by using his cable? i dont think this could work else.
Samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 bricked. Need HELP!!
The phone shows " Firmware upgrade issue encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I cant go to recovery mode ie. vol up+home+power. THings I have tried:
1. with Kies the device isnt recognised. I have updated the driver as well.
2. with odin every thing fails... flashing "all samsung recovery.tar", flashing stock jelly bean, flashing .pit file
I have googled for days and tried many things but isnt working. Need help

I9000 - factory reset intended, but recovery asks for PW then?

Hello,
found an old i9000 in a friend's "electronic trash" box. No SIM or SD card in there, phone still working (boots into PIN enter screen).
Now I wanted to toy around with it, see what custom ROMs can do to that old beauty - but upon entering recovery mode (Vol+, Home, Power) and selecting the "Factory reset" option, I get asked for a PW. All the tutorials on how to hard reset the phone never showed the PW request - is there some way to bypass it? I would hate to discard a phone that is 100% good from the hardware side of things -
thank you very much in advance,
Mirrorblade

Thank you - that actually did not help, as I still needed to enter that password on rebooting.
But when crawling the web for the exact "confirm password" phrase, I found the solution:
"Just enter the PW wrong four times, that will cause the data to be deleted". Did it for me, then

Need Help with Galaxy Note 4

Anyone please help. I am fairly new too the whole Android scheme of things and everywhere I look I see gibberish all talk about Roms and flashes and I don't know what to do. I have a Galaxy Note 4 in a rebbot loop, I tried to root with this thing called kingo root. And I rebooted my phone and it doesn't turn on it goes to the T-Mobile screen then powers off and repeats the process. I need to know how to factory reset the phone. I already tried to wipe the phone in recovery and same problem. I don't want a root or custom OS I just want to get the phone working. And as dumb down as possible. I'm so used to the one click jailbreak on iPhone and not the complexity of rooting and it screwed me over. I just want to know how to reset the phone and get it working.
Thanks
Lollipop 5.1.1 was what it was running and I have an SD Card if I need to reset from external since ik that's an option.

Look on here how to Odin 5.1.1. Thatll give you a fresh start. I suggest staying away from kingoroot or king root. Use cf-autoroot.

This could help you also - you could try to re-root and flash the kernel in this video that should get you going.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDCTQtCaUig
Look for a program called odin 3.10 and dl it to deaktop. Then dl 5.1.1 firmware . Also dl twrp 2.8 or higher . Once you have everything put phone into dl mode by holding power ,home and volume down. Once in dl open up odin and connect your phone to computer. Click pda and look for the twrp and flash it. Once done put phone into recovery by pressing power, home and up volume. Once in recovery wipe to factory reset. Now put phone back into dl mode and do the same with the firmware you dl. Make sure you extract the 5.1.1 file and it's a tar so you can flash it. Once it's ready flash the tar and you should be back to stock with no problem.
