Is there any way to get accurate battery readings on the extended battery on android? Any apps or widgets?
There are official bp e400 2300Mah Hd2 batteries on ebay for 25GBP.
Cover looks good, perfetly matches the phone, makes the phone little bit too thick.
But you can pull off 2 full days with 1 charge on android with normal use.
I am using mdj froyo hd 4.6 with hastarin kernel and I get accurate drain readings.
I had boot issues with it with lots of roms!!!!, never tried nand roms, though.

Even though it doesnt come with a stand...it does the job!
It has a switch the allows me charge the battery on the go as well as protects the screen.
And the best part, it works with the Android OS

I have one of the 2300 mAh batteries from eBay that you described. On Gingerbread, I would get about 3-4 days of battery life in airplane mode w/ wifi on [ I don't use my phone for service], and if I leave the radio on, I still get 2-2 1/2 days of life. The same stands for Ice Cream Sandwich as well. This is on NAND ROMs by the way, I've never used my extended battery with WP7, Winmo, or SD ROMs.
bought a 2400mAh battery (cameron sino technology, model no. cs-ht8585xl). the performance is not bad but the extended cover is just plastic, looks and feels cheap and doesn't fit as good as the original one. so i need it now only in case of emergency.

let's face it, the HD2 extended battery is a little bit quasimodo-esqued and the BB is a little bit cumbersome when you're traveling light. How hard would it be to extract another 200mAh or so for a total of 1500mAh while maintaining the same standard size? Anyone here with knowledge as to what's in store in the horizon for an item like this?
HD2 is a bit to new for these to exist, best company will be Mugen batteries
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
I had a standard size 1800mah for my pro 2 which worked very well, cost was around £20, so not the cheapest but was good quality
Lude,
Have you been to Mugen (sic?) to check if they are working on this/give them the idea, perhaps?

Are you insinuating that it's difficult to get another 15pts for an A? If i were the student I would say to the teacher, "do your job at teaching better and I'll get that A."
It's not a matter of unachievable because HTC did that with the original diamond. The stock diamond battery is only 900mAh and soon after its release, HTC came out with the extended one at 1100mAh(?) or so...in standard size.

yea I hope mugen or momax will jump on this opportunity. Im sure most of us will need all the extra power we can take without carrying extra equipment or sacrificing the slim look of the phone.
One thing I have noticed is the stock battery is a Lithium Ion 1230mAh battery and the aftermarket ones that I have been seeing are Lithium Polymer 1100mAh battery's. I have done quite a bit of research on battery chemistries and it seems odd that the aftermarket would be releasing a different battery to the manufacturer.
Edit: With regard to suppliers another good one is www.batterymill.co.uk

The one at MOMAX is Li-Ion but only 1100mAh. I can't for the life of me understand why they would release a battery that is lower in capacity than the original.
I hope that we see such a battery in the market soon

I want a new battery with more power to my phone, i am also not apposed to getting a Extended Battery.. Any suggestions, or info i should no about?
Check out the Hero CDMA sub forum, there are several options for batteries there.
You can pick up two extra batteries and an external charger for about $12 on Ebay. I went this route and don't regret it. I keep a fully charged battery in my glove box and another in my back pocket.
I never worry about killing my phone during the day from overuse. That said, since I've been using Zen's newest MT3G slide ROM, I haven't been able to completely drain a battery while at work.
Check out my sig (the TP2 batteries) for ideas on batteries...
in a nutshell unless you want s really big battery. The best choice is to get a 1500mAh OEM battery or the cheap 1500mAh no-name ones (which are pretty much as good) Don't fall for the mugen and Seidio ripoffs

The new OEM TP2 2100 batteries...Are you considering them the best for the Hero..? If so where's the best place to get them ?
Mac
for what it's worth, i was hesitant to spend the money on the 3500 mostly due to everyone saying that back cover looked like poo. after getting it though, i can honestly say that it is of good quality. obviously, it's black, and that will bother some people. to me though, it's kind of cool when other Hero owners (there are a ton of them, too) comment on it. they can't believe how much better i tel them the batery life is since that seems to be most people's biggest complaint (for smart phones in general). The cover is rubberized and doesn't fall off like some people say.
As for battery life, i unplug and turn my phone on at 4:45am every morning and usually turn it off around 10pm and plug it in. in that time, my email is pushed every 30 minutes, my bluetooth stays on, i stream shoutcast or pandora for about 1.5 hours (to and from work), send and receive on average 15-20 text messages, talk maybe 45 minutes, and surf the web (gotta check engadget and xda, right?) for at least 30 minutes. the gps stays on the whole time and i only use my task killer once about 15 minutes after my morning startup when all the crap is running in the background. when i turn the phone off at night, it has usually just dropped to the 50% mark. well worth the $53 if you ask me...
2000mah battery
If I'm not mistaken, isn't this the battery that fits the stock back. Previous posts lead to dead link or relisted after relisted, on and on? If this is it, it's back on ebay. I had read somewhere on this site that it was worth the long wait.

I was just wondering if anyone is gonna buy an extended battery?
I just ordered me one off of Android Central. I ordered the 1750mAh battery that's originally for the original Evo. But it fits the Shift also.
My buddy has it in his Evo Shift and he gets well over 14 hours on one charge. He took his phone off the charger at 8 this morning and when we got off work an hour ago his battery was at 59%...and yes he's been making calls, sending lots of texts and going on the web as well as streaming music on pandora.
This was sent shifting on my EVO Shift 4G using Tapatalk
I am not calling you a liar. I am saying that 250 more milliamps will not make a huge difference. Maybe might get another hour to hour and a half I would speculate. I have no proof to back my thought either. This is just my opinion.
Check out the testing done on Battery Boss.
http://batteryboss.org/
That Seidio battery doesn't rate all that well.
TP2 Seidio, 1750mAh rated: 1383mAh
EVO 4G stock OEM, 1500mAh rated: 1443mAh
Might want to check and see if that battery for the EVO works on the Shift. I tried a battery out of a friends EVO and it doesn't work. Hero battery does though.
um, works just fine. Same part number and everything.
HOWEVER, your battery wont fit his evo unless you snip the plastic block as they put some odd notching on the new battery.
I've been using my evo batteries since day 1.

I understand what you're saying. But all I know is that his battery was at 59% when we got off work. Maybe it lasted longer because the Shift is a smaller phone than theEvo and therefore it doesn't use as much power like the Evo. Thus resulting in the fact that the battery doesn't drain as fast.
Idk....but i definitely ordered one. Once I get it, I'll report my finding.
The original evo friggin inhaled batteries because of the screen.

No, whatever gave you that idea? Same pins, same layout, same everything. Not sure why you'd call it "upside down". Guess it depends on which side of the "label" you'd call the upside.
RHOD100. Same part numbers. Guess if you care where the "words" are when you install the battery, so be it, but otherwise the battery is just fine.
for everyone coming from the Hero, and those that still have it. It's battery can be used as an extra. I just tried mine, just flip the battery upside down and works just fine.
Folks, to clarify my earlier statement, the pinouts are exactly the same, do NOT worry about which side of the label is the "top" or "bottom". The writing on the battery label means nothing.
If the labeling really really matters to you, get a sticker and write on it "This side OUT on the EVO SHIFT"
Word of warning tho, the Shift battery may NOT work in the evo or TP2 or Hero or any other phone that uses RHOD160 class batteries because they are changing the plastic notches at the end.

I dont find a need to use an extended battery. If you know how to set your phone up properly and buy a few replacement china made batteries you should never have a problem. I'm at nearly 40 hours and still have 25% left on my battery. I posted what I did in another thread under general on how and what I do to get this kind of battery life. This phone is amazing on power usage if you just set it up right and know how to use it. I get more life out of this phone than my Optimus S and i thought that phone was killer. I always have a fully charged battery in my wallet for when I ever run out and need a full charge.
I was already getting about 12 hours on the original evo shift battery. I got my Extended battery early this morning, charged it all the way up. I know its too early to really see a difference but I took my phone off the charger at about 1030 this morning and I'm just at 94 percent battery life..if that means anything

Fifedogg, do me a really big favor and do NOT ever put a Lithium class battery in your wallet or any other place that it could ever flex.
We really don't need a catastrophic accident in the news about the battery cracking, getting exposed to oxygen/moisture and spontaneously combusting and, um, toasting up your backside.
LiON/LiPoly/LiPO class batteries can burn at excess of 1000F, your skin is no match for that temp.

What is the best moneyworthy alternative out there, i lost the old one, so i just need a fairly good battery, and hopefully not less good than original, but better value for the money wouldnt be bad.
I suggest mugen
I uses this battery for about 4 weeks and it works great within this time but after round about 6 weeks the battery lifetime reduces to a minimum and at the end i only was able to use my legend for about 6 hours with about 70% of standby-time. Definitely the Wildfire. My friend had a Wildfire imported to Canada (stupid idea) and the battery I ordered works interchangeably between the two. Though he wasn't scared of the risks because it had printed Wildfire/Legend on the back of the battery. I'd imagine the HTC battery is at the very least similar.

I have one Gold battery and it work ok, is a good value to the money.
The battery I buy in webstore Pixinf can work more that 2 days and the original one only work less than one day.
Be carefull, I think some gold batteries are made on china (not in japan) and are copy ones (fake).
Kind regards

:good:
I already test it ant it give you almost 2 x more duration than the original battery.
Be carefull, I think some gold batteries have better quality than others you get in ebay.
I buy mine in pixinf.com store.
I recently Purchased this battery for my evo, but the battery is only compatible with the older htc phones. The battery is brand new. price is $15. that includes shipping!!!!
Are you sure it fits the Hero?
It's definitely too thick to use without a different battery cover, I think.
yes the battery fits the hero, and you are also correct in needing a different battery cover. The battery is about the same thickness as a seidio 3500 so you could probably get a cover for one of those and then have an actual htc extended battery for your phone. I have two of these batteries by the way.

Is this an offer or sale? Or are you just stating the cost of the item?
someone correct me if im wrong, but i believe the evo and the hero share the same 1500mah battery. if it doesnt fit the evo, im a little skeptical it fits the hero. if you could take a pic of the battery in a hero showing the stock battery cover fits with it, ill take it

You are correct the hero and evo do share the same 1500mah battery. But the htc 2150mah doesn't register with the evo so the evo will not charge the battery. They work just fine in a Touch pro 2 and a Hero. the reason i bought these batteries cause i knew the hero 1500mah batteries work just fine in the evo. so i bought these which were listed as extended batteries for the hero and touch pro 2. The battery fits and powers my evo just fine, but since the battery doesn't register with the phone it wont charge it. If i put the batteries in an external charger they work in my evo perfectly(annoying). THESE FIT MY EVO, SO THERE FOR IT WILL FIT YOUR HERO!!!! YOU WILL NEED AN BIGGER BATTERY DOOR AS THESE ARE AT LEAST TWICE THE SIZE OF THE 1500MAH!!!!! BATTERY IS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AS A SEIDIO 3500 EXTENDED BATTERY!!
Included some more pics. Left batt. is a rebranded seidio 3500mah, middle is the 2150mah htc battery, right is the stock evo battery.
sorry, didnt see in the 3rd post where you said you need a bigger battery cover, hence why i was under the impression it would fit. id like to keep my otterbox case so im gonna pass, but thanks, great price
Why not just get an external charger and have it fully charge it for your EVO? Either way, GLWS. Cheers.

unlike the heroc taking the back cover off and back on an evo truly sucks..lotsa little tabs..used my heroc to charge up some extended batteries w/ ext covers I'd bought for a few friends evos then watched the remove and replace process..ugly it was but the ext batts work wonderfully for a heavy user. glws
once i get the money and if this is still for sale i'll buy it

I still have both! so i don't think it will be a problem. Not much interest in these for some reason. But like I said $15 per battery is pretty good. lol If there not gone soon im gonna start posting these in the other part of the forums. This battery fits a boat load of older htc phones.
I would buy it as soon as someone finds a back cover that I could use with my hero. I don't know where to get a back cover like that, and I don't feel like trying to find it, I doubt I would. With that battery all my battery issues would go away lol.
