Louder Volume Hack v3.6 - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

Requirements: Android
Overview: The speaker itself isn’t of the highest quality but the Android Community wanted to squeeze as much as possible from it. A project then came along to improve the audio quality and volume and hence AudioHack was born.
* NO NEXUS SUPPORT EVER
v3.6
* Now includes Widgets!
* Please run app before widget
* App may require a restart

Nice idea. I installed it, tried IC2 and IC3 and neither seam to show a difference. Perhaps a more detailed guide needs to be created? Aside from your color chart, the rest is kind of foreign to me.

Ill try it

Thanks, I'll be trying this out shortly.

Always wanted a louder speaker on Android. WM7 seemed louder with same mp3 as ringtone then Android.
This doesnt work for me. Any alternative??

Looked for "Audio Booster" in the Market. Nada. Does it have another name? Or should I look somewhere else?
Thanks.

any chance for some version for Nexus?

What a shame no nexus support :s

Does not work for me. I get an error message that tells me to restart the app, I do and i get the same message.

Working fine on SD Desire HD

I know this is posted in the HD2 section but when you say "NO NEXUS SUPPORT" are you referring to the Nexus One phone, or Nexus based builds?

They are saying Nexus builds are not supported and never will be. There must be something in those that is incompatible with this .

produces no effect on desire HD :-(
for those who have a phone with which it works, there is an update 4.1

If you really wanted to do something useful, you would get into improving our current driver situation. We have an open-source camera driver (which wraps the OEM camera driver) in the CyanogenMod tree, but it needs work, especially on the camcorder side (camcorder doesn't focus at present).
There's also still a lot of work needed on the GL side. We have the libgles_qcom.so file from previous ROM images, but it isn't 100% compatible with Gingerbread (missing textures in Quadrant, etc).
The YouTube player sometimes plays audio-only when viewing "HQ" videos. I suspect this is due to a missing video codec and/or related to the above GL issues. We need work done on various codecs.
There's plenty of work to be done in kernel space. The 2.6.35 kernel posted by s0be is significant progress, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. Personally I would like to see more optimizations done on the kernel side because these will benefit all ROM images.
There are also various bugs in CyanogenMod that shouldn't be too difficult to fix, such as notification power widgets disappearing when changing themes. Check their issue tracker on Google Code to find some easy things to fix.
It would be awesome to see a fully-working 2.3.4 ROM image that was 100% AOSP and had completely working drivers. It would certainly make future development much easier and provide a nice base to build other ROM images from.
...oh, wait, that's right. You just want to "port" "tweaks"/themes/nonsense. Try fixing what we have right now before you give us more half-working junk.

OK, flashing went well, but I'm not sure that there are some benefits
There is no on/off, so it's hard to compare from memory
I don't trust it, but maybe I'll test it after a few reviews. There could be any disadvantages. I can't imagine this will make the sound really better...

confirmed too
I tested it now, too and the sound has really more power.
does the improvment apply only to music (speaker/headphones) or is the earpiece/headset quality also improved (call quality) ?
I don't know. The audio (music) isn't clearer only more bass. It's too much, so I remove it again.
How this works without replacing existing system files?
I recorded the sound via audio jack with and without beats audio mod to compare the differences. Audio levels and spectrogram are exactly the same...
I asked me that, too, but I don't know. Maybe it's only louder and so placebo?
It makes difference in headset when play music or video.
Yep, working great for me too
Well if not satisfied, there are other options for sound freaks - DSP Manager from CM is included in DjangoManouche 1.0, works great with (also included) Google Music. There is a free Equalizer app on Market. Even LG stock music player has some decent presets. Choices, choices...
Anyway, respect to fuss132

I'm on Temasek's Kang 69. Is there any difference whether I flash this or the original one from Fuss132?
The original port was by RockoDev. I have edited the OP and put the link to his thread. (RockoDev's zip file can be flashed on ICS too)
I am not sure whether this works or not. Supercurio has stated that it doesnt.
supercurio said:

All it does is strictly no change in audio output.
If you claiming you're improving sound quality while implicitly asking for donations (aka [Donate to me] button) I strongly suggest you to bring some elements supporting your assumptions.
I might add that by distributing random files and libs you're violating several manufacturers copyrights and intellectual property.

Audio is something special.

That's called placebo.
All I'm asking is intellectual honesty in order to not abuse of this many times proven fact.
I also think placebo-mods are affecting negatively everyone's work and also the confidence XDA users have in developers.
The solution is simple: It improves audio? That can be measured then!
If you can't measure it, it means it does nothing.
Me, I measured, Galaxy S II. found it wasn't working. It's not an opinion or a critic. It's a fact.

Nexus 4 and Android 4.2.2 - still no MP3-tags

AOSP doesn't support AVRCP 1.13 which is the version that introduced metadata support. Until it does, custom ROMs the devs have added it to are the only one's that'll display song/album/artist.
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
This profile is designed to provide a standard interface to control TVs, Hi-fi equipment, etc. to allow a single remote control (or other device) to control all of the A/V equipment to which a user has access. It may be used in concert with A2DP or VDP.
It has the possibility for vendor-dependent extensions.
AVRCP has several versions with significantly increasing functionality:
1.0—Basic remote control commands (play/pause/stop, etc.)
1.3—all of 1.0 plus metadata and media-player state support The status of the music source (playing, stopped, etc.)
Metadata information on the track itself (artist, track name, etc.).
1.4—all of 1.0, 1.3, plus media browsing capabilities for multiple media players Browsing and manipulation of multiple players
Browsing of media metadata per media player, including a "Now Playing" list
Basic search capabilitieshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
https://www.bluetooth.org/Building/HowTechnologyWorks/ProfilesAndProtocols/AVRCP.htm
As far as I know, no n4 custom rom supports it until today. Google will most likely never update it, don't know what the heck they are thinking.
it's such an elementary feature. Can't believe it's not integrated....This really makes me mad.

That's all I was looking forward to also.
Its no wonder companies ignore their users when they needlessly and wrongly report bugs for something which is clearly not a bug.
If I was Google I'd ignore every single bug report which was actually reporting a missing feature.
For whatever reason, Google left it out, probably because its a niche requirement. It's not a bug.
thank god ur not google
maybe it's not the right category but at least I did something to point out that there's a problem and gave other ppl the chance to express their madness about this problem aswell.
And a niche? C'mon this is absolute standard nowadays and we can expect this from a 2012 smartphone when even my 2010 i9000 had it!

[Q] DSP Manager on rooted device

Is it possible to flash DSP Manager on my HTC One?
I'm currently running MaximusHD 21.0.0.
I've spent a day trying to find a good alternative.
But none of them have satisfied me.
Spent the last hours searching for a solution,
but didn't find a good one.
I can drop beats if that's what it takes.
Thanks!
Sure. You'd need to install the apk, but I'd be wary of using flashable zips intended for other devices. I have an old apk. However, it may have changed or been updated since the last time I grabbed it.

The thing is that the newer versions(from 1 or 2 years back) have dependencies(libraries and stuff).
The old one works as an apk. But all improvements from CM 9 & CM 10 are missing in that one.
That why I'm looking for a way to flash it. It seems to work for some people, but not for HTC One & Sense.

I was looking at the Viper app, but it's more then I need. I really only need is a nice, simple non-bloat Equalizer.
My pair of Shure SE535 and HTC One sounds amazing together as they are.
But I want the ability to turn up the low end, high mids and turn down the high end
when listening to trance/chillout to get better ambiance and smoother sound.
Would really appreciate if you could upload it later!
Thanks!
Edit: Actually seeing the screenshots themselves instead of the bloated thread made me want to look it up anyway.
But when searching for viper4android I only get weird asian versions.

Stereophonic | Remastered Android Audio

Stereophonic / Remastered Android Audio
Greeting fellow XDA'ers (?)
It's long overdue, but Stereophonic / Remastered Android Audio will be updated soon for 2020! I'm working on adding some new phones, and also have my sights set on adding Android 9 and 10.
Remastered Audio! What do I mean by remastered you may ask? Some sounds have been amplified, safely, some others have been de-amplified to less harsh levels based on manual listening and adjusting sessions. Mono tracks have been turned into stereo tracks, and some stereo tracks have been rebalanced to give better total output. I tried to insure that all audio tracks never surpasses -3db as a rule of thumb. The goal is to get as loud as COMFORTABLY possible or to LOWER the volume on some audio so it doesn't sound like your phone's speaker is exploding.
Basically...
Dislike not being able to hear your keyboard very well when you type?
Want to hear those lovely lock and unlock sounds without having to be in a whisper quiet room? (I know I do)
Are you annoyed by how outrageously quiet the camera sounds are?
Hate the distorted rattle sound that some ringtones cause due to being too loud?
Want to add a crap ton of new and cool sounds to your phone?
Want to preserve your phone's speakers to hopefully keep them from being damaged? (In theory)
Well look no further!
[Warning] This process does increase the file size of most audio files, while I've not heard any kind of lag or delay what so ever at all during my testing, even with crazy trying and such. It is entirely possible that some sort of lag/delay could be introduced on some/slower devices. This is just a theoretical guess mind you.
Thanks to user Eun-Hjzjined for the flashable zip. Just flash the attached file via your custom recovery and all should be well.
ALSO
Always looking for new system media dumps from new phones or new Android versions to remaster and add to the project! Feel free to send em my way!
I hope some of you get enjoyment out of this. I originally did it for myself, but felt that others like myself may want to enjoy better audio.
Thanks all!

Internet here is slow mate! Haha. Sorry
Logo is up!
So if I wanted to try this, I just flash in recovery. To get back to stock do I just flash the ROM again.
I have a general question for you:
I run most often PureNexus or another close variant and flashing this over my current setup (latest PureNexus) the names are the same but the actual sounds are different. They are remastered properly and sound really good, but it is almost like the names of the ringtones I know are not the stock ones that you remastered. Is there a reason why the sound files all have different names and different sounds across ROMs or is that an AOSP thing? I know CM has completely different ringtones and names, but just AOSP there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what name goes with what sound.

Basically yes, though you could backup your current sounds with a root file explorer. But honestly I am 99% sure you won't feel the need to switch back.

That is kind of what I thought. My favorite ringtone in stock PureNexus is Phobos (also one of my favorite rounds in Quake 3) and if I ever find out the actual name for that ringtone I'm going to request you to amplify it for me. Thanks for letting me know though and thank you sincerely for doing this. I can finally hear actions, like screen touches, without having to crank the volume :good:

I got it. I found it in a version of Skydragon ROM for the Nexus 6. I'm seriously starting to think that different Nexus phones (made by separate manufacturers) have different released sounds. Either way, I attached a zip, could I trouble you to perhaps to make this ringtone awesome like the others and I will track down the Jasmine ringtone for you? Thank you for this
Went through just a few folders (screenshot attached) but I found the notification called "Jasmine" that was released for the HTC One in one of the XDA community's audio ripping extravaganza. Credit goes to @Nick Fury who uploaded it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183179 so if you want the whole archive of sounds you can grab it as well. I zipped and attached Jasmine, but the sound on it is really low (your specialty as I recall). Hopefully it is the one you were looking for and if not believe me, I probably have the one you are looking for in the stuff I downloaded.
As an aside, Great archive of phone sounds found here: http://forums.theandroidchannel.com/topic/203-download-android-devices-stock-system-sounds/ (Where I got most of the files in my screenshot)
