You should not expect many answers in the description you gave,we need more details to sort what the problem is,like if you have flashed or done anything with your SGS.
If you have flashed the phone with a new firmware then you probably forgot to flash the modem file.Go in Odin again, select the Modem file, and DONT click anything else then flash the Modem file ONLY,it should be fine.
please check if your phone's IMEI is still correct. compare what is in settings>about phone>status to what is stated as your IMEI in the box where you phone came with or at the back of the phone after you remove the battery.
If your IMEI is different, you may be stuck with an INVALID IMEI unless of course you backed up your EFS folder.
Note: next time provide more details like what you were doing BEFORE this issue happened. We are not mind readers
Same problem
I am having the same problem. 4 days ago my Galaxy tab decided that it would not recognise my sim card, at the time I was playing a game. Numerous phone calls to my provider lead to no help as they kept reassuring me that my sim card and service was fine. I soon discovered that flight mode was turned on. When I turn flight mode off the sim card sign comes on in the right hand top corner but still says no sim card emergency calls only. Turn off the tab and turn it back on and flight mode is reset. Nothing I do will stop flight mode coming on each time I turn the tab on or make the tab recognise my card.
I have reset the tab to factory mode but this did not work. I checked the IMEI number as per this forum and it is correct.
Please help!

I have the same problem with my s2. i rooted it yesterday and today i flashed a new kernel. after i flashed a new kernel, it just bacame stuck in flight mode (with option to turn it off unavalable). i flashed the stock kernel back, but no difference... my IMEI says: Unknown.

stuck at flight mode
hi
i had the same problem i search in xda developers and didnt find.My friend said that my wifi chip broken.i sent it to the shop to replace the chip and after that all work perfect.so i recomend to send the phone to the shop to replace the wifi chip and it will work :good:
for anyone facing this error, you simply need to reinstall a newer or different country specific modem.
Hi,
my girlfriends phone just suddenly stopped working. It stucked at Samsung Logo. Also recovery did not work anymore. So i decided to try flashing it. Coming from the HTC Desire is first had to look how to use Odin and how to flash Samsung devices.
Anyway, i found a new stock Rom from somewhere on this site droidangel.blogspot_com from February 2012, and i flashed it via Odin. The phone booted again, but i am unable to get any simcard to work. I tried several stock Roms, but all the time the same problem: Flight Mode is off, but i cannot get any reception. The menu option "Mobile Networks" is grayed out so i cannot enter it. In "About Phone/Status" is says everything just unknown. Signal strength 0db 0asu, and Service State either Radio Off or Out of Service. When i turn flight mode on, and then off again it just turn it on again after some seconds.
Any ideas what i could do?
can you access your IEMI number *#06# (don't post it) is the number still there or all 0's?
A pop-up comes with "IMEI"... thats all, no imei is shown, only "IMEI" and the ok button.
Also when i try to turn flight mode off the phone reboots suddenly and than flight mode is off, but still it behaves as if there is no simcard inserted.
I bought a second hand GT-I9305. After the first boot I dicided I wanted to flash it with the CM nichtly. I first rooted the stock rom, flashed a recovery and then flashed CM. Now the problem is the I can't make calls. When I dial a number the phone responds with 'call ended' before it even starts.
I don't know if the phone worked to begin with, the first thing I did is flash it.
I've tried different roms now and reverted back to the 4.3 factory image. None of that fixed the problem. I've also tried putting to 2 or 3G only which didn't help either. My phone still shows an imei number.
I'm completely aware of the fact that I might have done something very stupid. I flashed android devices before but I'm the type of person who reads the manual when it's to late.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this problem?
I'm usint T-mobile on the EE network in the UK.
Problem still unsolved, more information
I'm giving some more information as the problem isn't solved yet.
I'm on a Pay as You Go sim that works fine in another phone (HTC Desire S). I've now also try to downgrade to 4.1.1 but still no luck. I've also tried different sims but the problem occurs with those sims as well.
The phone looks to be registered to the network, at least that's what it shows. Also, data works, I get a 3G and H+ connection,
I'm more than happy to provide more information. Any help is greatly appreciated.
SIM unlocked? Google xda sim unlock GT-i9305...
Phone not locked
Thanks for your reply. The phone is already unlocked.
IMEI blocked? If you're in UK try www.checkmend.com/uk/ it'll cost you 1.99 but might save you time & effort...
Hi guys,
I have a LG Optimus 4x HD with stock rom (Jelly bean). About three weeks ago, I suddenly lost my network connection and it looked like my phone didn't recognize my SIM card. I put my battery and my Sim out and in my phone, but that didn't help. I tried many SIM cards and they work excellent on my other phone. When I turn my device on It just boots up and doesn't ask for my pin code at all. I see no difference when my SIM card is in or out my device. However, it does recognize my SD card, so I think there is a problem with the software? On the lock screen I just see the message ''no service'' and at the top I see this (first pic). When I try to dial someone it says ''reorganization of internal processes. Try it later.''. I read on a forum that I had to go to ''mobile networks'' in settings, but that isn't possible (pic 2).I also tried to put some paper between my sim card and my sim card slot but that didn't work either. Does someone have this problem too or is there somebody who can help me to solve this problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I discovered that my phone doesn't have an IMEI and IMEI SV code anymore. It also doesn't have an baseband version. Do you guys know this caused the lost of my network connection and does anyone know how I can recover my IMEI number? Finally I managed to enter the mobile networks in settings by do a long tap on the data icon in the notification center. I hope someone can help me.
I have the same problem as you. With every restart the phone is unable to read the sim card. Also the baseband is shown as unknown, and I don't have imei no. The solution for me is to remove the battery, and put the phone in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.(yes in the refrigerator The phone is getting very hot when is searching for network and to have it really cool helps apparently. Try it yourself to see if it does the job for you and let us know.

Thanks for your reply! This morning, my phone finally asked for the first time for the sim password and I finally got a signal. I got my IMEI and my baseband number back. Unfortunately, after an hour or so I tried to send a sms and I wasn't able to send it. I got the error no USIM or so. The IMEI and Baseband number disappeared agian. I turned flightmode on and of and I didn't get a signal again... New today was that I am now unable to connect to multiple wifi networks too. Now my WI-FI MAC-adress is 00:00:00:00:00:00. I already lost the phone and I now also lost the smart part of my smartphone... I also tried to put my phone in the refrigerator but sadly it didn't help. I think I have to buy a new phone....

Sorry to say that "It's time to say goodbye"
I got same problem with you and try all kind of possibility. Here is final verdicts:
- Some phone repairers I know said It's the encrypted baseband partition is damaged, unless you have backup of that, it's a no-go
- I've tried to reflash the phone and it will stuck at 10%, you have to push really hard at some point at the back to make is flashable. After that, the signal back on with baseband and IMEI.... but only for a few restarts it will be gone
Hi blbterminator,
I already said goodbye to my p880 (has been replaced for the G3), but thanks for your reply. Now it's clear for me that's it's a hardware issue.
Maybe do you know if this problem only affects the lg p880 or other brands or models too?
Many thanks!

Hello,
my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro running on stock MIUI Global 12.5.1.0 (RFKEUXM) can now suddenly not connect to my mobile carrier.
I hope somebody can help me out.
Some facts and stuff I have tried:
The connectivity icon on the top is just grayed out now and shows an X.
But that was not the case in the morning today.
At that time it showed full bars, but not the usual 4G text and the mobile internet did not work. After some attempts written below it is now just gray.
Mobile internet and cell service do not work.
I have rebooted multiple times.
The IMEI for both SIM slots is shown as 0.
No baseband version is shown.
(I am sure that this was also not the case early in the morning.)
I have never installed a custom ROM on this device, bootloader was never unlocked.
The SIM card is correctly inserted and the phone number is shown in the settings for SIM slot 1.
Trying SIM slot 2 (incl. reboot) did not fix the problem.
The SIM status shows that the service is not available, also on the top left when the phone is locked. ("Dienst nicht verfügbar" in German locale.)
Trying the SIM in another phone works, which I think makes it not a carrier problem.
Trying another SIM in my phone also does not work.
I unfortunately had dropped the phone days before, but no damage visible at all (phone case FTW).
Also it worked without problems, which makes me hope this is not hardware related.
WLAN works, so internet connectivity is possible.
Phone is out of warranty.
I did search for other threads with similar issues, but they all seem to be related to having flashed custom ROMs and then losing the IMEI.
Does somebody have any idea how I can fix this?
Thank you!
Edit: I just remembered/saw that I did do the "Xiaomi Service Framework" system app update to version 6.0.6-G yesterday night, maybe that caused the problem? Currently researching on how to roll that back. If somebody knows, please do tell.

Did you check Settings, SIM cards and Mobile networks, SIM 1 (if SIM is in Slot 1)
Do you have Turn on? If Turned Off, then do Turn On
If not, ie if it does not recognize the SIM card, then it looks like a hardware issue
Assuming, as you say, that SIM card is ok, correctly inserted, and that phone runs only the stock firmware - hence no root, no custom ROM, no custom Recovery (that user could possibly wipe partitions), etc
Maybe, some connection got loose and later disconnected completely
Thanks for you answer.
I am sure the SIM is inserted correctly and working. It's been in there probably for years now.
Don't know if you saw my update above about "Xiaomi Service Framework". Checking that right now. Maybe I should just do a factory reset.
What I have noticed now a couple of times is that the phone crashes and reboots, just now happened when I connect for USB debugging or before when trying to enter the SIM pin after a reboot, ...

Agreed, therefore I am sure the SIM is recognized. The phone even shows my number and the SIM has the carrier name.

If the carrier name is recognized, then IMEI cannot be NULL
Very strange
Try to play with Preferred network type setting
Maybe something really got wrong with the updated Framework

Oh, I though the IMEI is device specific and should be there even without a SIM inserted.

AFAIK too - but without IMEI it could not attach to the network and therefore cannot show carrier name
Hence strange, and/or the contradictory descriptions/observations

Ohh, sry there is a misunderstanding.
The carrier name is only shown as the NAME of the SIM card (I guess it is stored on there or the phone has remembered it). But there is NO connection or carrier name shown in the top notification bar.

Yeah but you still have unknown IMEI - that's something that should have not happened
Anyway, go to Preferred Network Type and try with Prefer 4G, Prefer 3G or Prefer 2G - maybe, with the updated Framework, something went wrong with the bands support or so
If it wouldn't help, then I'm out of the ideas how to solve
So I did do a hard reset now, and it worked for a short time (IMEI is back), then it doesn't again, and ... just now again. It really is not stable.
Thx. I will post updates when I know more.
Unfortunately the phone keeps crashing and rebooting when using it. It just freezes and restarts, and sometimes it takes a long time to restart (seems like a crash loop).
Twice I also saw some graphic artifacts (bright magenta and green) on a small part of the screen.
I don't think this is just a mobile network connection problem anymore.
BTW: I have installed an older version of Xiaomi Service Framework (also the hard reset reverted it to a much older version), but that did not help.
Hey!!
I hope you doing great
Did you manage to solve the issue?
@Fawad Hussain
Unfortunately I could not solve it, so I am not able to use the device anymore.
Btw, as far as I can see there is no current smartphone without a notch/punch hole which is not gigantic (ASUS Rog Phone 6).

Same thing happened to me, I have managed to get it thanks to this guy in the video which I don't understand what he is saying but I just followed his steps, so if you are looking for a solution this video is.
But my device is not rooted and bootloader is locked, I tried ways but don't know how to root it or unlock bootloader properly
