[Q] Alarm timer references to other folders? - Fascinate Themes and Apps

Samsung Fascinate
DL09 Super Clean 0.4 ROM Adrynalyne's test kernal v5
replaced the AOSP Clock with the stock clock... couple of issues/questions
1)
Still trying to get the stock clock to work right. The timer alarm doesn't sound, and this seems to be true on all dev ROMs. Have tried several kernals.
What I did notice, is that if the phone is on vibrate... well, it vibrates. So what I'm wondering is, is there somewhere it is looking for the alarm? Somewhere that may have been deleted when I went from stock, to a dev. ROM? I do see in the clockpackage.apk, androidmanifest.xml, lines regarding each function, but I can't translate.
I noticed there is no .odex file for this. I don't even know what an odex file is, do I need it? Or worst case, can I rewrite the .apk to fix this?
2)
When I set the AOSP clock to DockAlarm.apk.old, the alarm time was still showing up on the lockscreen? Even after a restart!? Which makes me wonder where is that info stored? My dirty fix was to reactivate the app, and remove all alarms, then re-.old it. (think I found it... /data/data/com.android.deskclock but not sure if I can delete it without breaking the phone.)
However, the stock clock alarm does not show up on the lockscreen, which I did think was a nice feature... can I point the lockscreen to /data/data/com.sec.android.app.clockpackage? (stock alarm)
Thanks for any help...

[Q] A few cappy customizing questions...

i was wondering on if/how i could change a few settings perhaps by tweaking some databases. i want to remove the ringtone fade-in, and perhaps change a few color schemes. also, with the install "stock lockscreen" as an option, could i modify this file to create my own lockscreen without the problems of 3rd party lockscreen apps have? i've also done some searching but i guess it doesn't exist, but i'll ask anyway, is there hupsa or screen notifications for froyo? thanks for whomevers time.

Removing Clock

Hi all. I'm looking for someone that might have found a way to remove the clock from the status bar. I've found different ROMs and update packages meant for other phones that are supposed to remove it, but I would rather try to find a tried and true method for the captivate. If one exists anyway, the last time I searched for this I read it wasn't possible with our phones.
So has anyone been able to accomplish this on their captivate?
Oh, I'm also running perception build 7.
Just gonna bump once
I tried to replace the services.jar file with one that was meant to remove the clock, but that rendered the phone unbootable :/ Which is what I assumed would happen.
Any ideas?
Looking for the same thing. I run beautiful widgets and have no need for clock in the notification bar.
Running Assonance 3.1
Likewise! I also run Beautiful Widgets and don't really see the need for this clock ....
I use zeam as my launcher and hide the status bar in prefs. To make notifications easily accessible, I set then to swipe down gesture.

[REQ] Vanilla lockscreen MOD

I found this while searching: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665652
It's a vanilla lockscreen MOD with just the unlock and volume sliders, no time or battery level etc. Could someone take a crack at this for the Eris or just give me a hint on how to do it? Thanks!
EDIT: I did a nand backup and flashed the sprint version just to see what would happen. It works but some text based architecture is screwed up:

[Q] Clock app used in Serendipity?

I've been having some issues with Serendipity---mostly loving it, but getting some really weird side effects with googlevoice, among other things.
Anyway, the reason I've stuck with Serendipity so far is that the clock app is AMAZING. I fabricated a sexy little wooden dock for my phone, and every night I plug in, turn that app on, tilt landscape and let it be my alarm clock.
I'm sure it's possible to extract that app, but it seems like it's sorta integral to the ROM--if that's possible. I'd like to do something crazy like try firefly + that clock app...
So the short version:
Can that clock app be downloaded somewhere else?

Click to collapse
Should be. It's AOSP clock.
Thanks for the fast reply. I can find AOSP Clock mentioned all over the place, but no actual place to get the app. Suggestions, anyone?
Go grab it off the serendipity kitchen as an add-on. I like the alarm clock too, which seems to take precedence, so I flashed both at the same time in a cwm update. Now I have the "dock clock" that we both like, and the countdown timer/stopwatch/alarm clock that I use extensively too. Both are called "Clock" in the app drawer, with only a subtle icon difference.
The clock in the Serendipity kitchen is not the AOSP one it's the Samsung clock.
You might be able to download the AOSP here (didn't try it myself since I'm using the Samsung one)

Guys, I'm sorry I'm dense. The clock in serendipity that goes nicely to landscape and then dims to green while plugged in...that's....AOSP or Samsung?
<<Edit>> Ok, so maybe I'm super dumb here. I just bothered to look inside the serendipity rom zip and there's "DeskClockGoogle.apk" sitting right there. I'm assuming that's what I need, gonna flash and find out.
And Edit 2:
Yes, that worked. You can't install it---I copied it to SD card using SwiFTP and then used root explorer to move it to /system/apps/ and that auto installed it. Horray.

[Q] Lockscreen options FC after icon selection

Hi
I am on SlimICS 4.2. I tried to select a diferent icon for one of the unlock wheel options, but somehow it failed. Now, the icon appering in the wheel is the default one, but the Rom Control FCs every time I try to edit the options.
It's clear that something is messed up with the lockscreen config. Is thrre a file where this information is stored? Some XML or something like that? Is it possible to reset the lockscreen options?
Thanks!
Please, I would like to avoid reflashing all over again just for one configuration file. No one knows which file holds the configuration of the lockscreen, things like the path to the icons and such things?
Thanks!
