[Q] Seen Rotation With Jan. 16, 2011 Energy ROM - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

AT&T Tilt 2 with the "Energy.RHODIUM.29007.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Jan.16.7 z" ROM.
It looks like I lost the screen rotation. The screen rotates only in Opera. Internet Explorer, email and others (which worked with the official Aug. 30 ROM) do not rotate any longer.
Based on what I found in the huge Energy ROM thread, I do have the 3 files and the 3 registry files and they appear to be correct.
Is there anything else I can look into?
Thanks!

New HTC Rom, Display slower than before?

I just installed the new HTC Rom on my TyTN II. At first, it seemed snappy. Once I installed some Today plugins, switching from landscape to portrait and back still took about 2 seconds, but it didn't redraw the screen as in the past, the new layout (after 2 seconds) just appeard all intact. Seems they are building the screen in memory before displaying double buffering) it. This made it appear "snappier".
I installed PocketCM v1.5, which was always very fast for me. With the updated ROM the contact list still scrolled vertically just fine, but the side to side transitions tear and stutter.
Is anyone else noticing this behavior?
lol thats why I have stayed away from official releases untill I hear a forum full of happy XDA-ers
Well, some of us have to be the first to try these things out for the rest of you.
hahaha i used to be like that. I remember the flash happu days lol, but recently ive seen nothing but problems with official releases so have given up FTM
I currently use Duttys WM 6.1 WWe dated 04/16/08 and its the fastest release ive used so far
Hi,
try to change registry value on in touch flow settings - to value more then 200.
I am using value 900 - and machine is pretty quick even in the newest WM6.1
I also think this is a lot slower. Especially when opening programs and such wish I'd stayed with custom rom from sleuth. In fact might flash back.

It's already set to 400. The horizontal transitions in PocketCM are not based on a finger swipe, but by tapping an icon...so the Touchflo settings for that aren't the issue. The transitions stutter and tear without touchflo.

[Q] Can not get phone to NOT wake up when text comes in

I have searched and searched, so far all that have the same issue as myself have not had an answer that works. I am bringing this to a new thread, in the hopes it will trigger some ideas on how to fix this.
I do know how to use the search system. I am usually a lurker, having the Diamond (NOT Pro) for a little over a week.
I have tried a number of different things to try to STOP the screen from waking up on a new text message. I have tried everything except the older version 3.2.. of the advanced config utility (I am reluctant to downgrade to older version as I have changed many things and have noticed that if you switch from one config utility from another will not work the same way, example is with TF3dconfig I removed the weather tab and forgot to reset all when I uninstalled it for the 3.3 version of advanced config. I try to re-activate the weather tab in 3.3 and it will not take-alas, another issue for another day). I have a Sprint version of the diamond. The DisableSMSWakeUpEvent does not work on my sprint diamond. It does not show up in the registry and when I create it, it still does nothing. This seems like such a silly thing to not have the option of adjusting in the oem configuration. The Pro has it, why not the non-pro version.
Many thanks for anyone that has a suggestion on how to get this screen to STAY OFF when a text comes in. Perhaps even a lock on incoming text that will be unlocked by the light sensor.
I have also discovered that TF3D does not like gsensor rotation. I wanted the text message to be landscape. Tried Gyrator 2, could not get it to reliably not rotate when a call is active. Tried changescreen, great easy to use, but TF3D overrides this. It works the first time or two, then the TF3D changes it to portrait. I did find that adding a rotate command to a registry entry (found in the forum) then assigned the 'green' phone button long hold to rotate. Works well and is easy as sometimes I do not want it to rotate.
Sorry for the run on, many thanks in advance for the help and insight.

Next? -->HTC Diamond Pro (I am not missing keyboard as much as I thought I would with TF3D)
HTC Diamond (WM6.1)
HTC Touch (WM6.1 ack! lasted a week)
HTC PPC6800 Mogul (WM6 upgraded WM6.1)
HTC PPC6700 (WM5)
Samsung I600 (WM 4?) (Flip phone)
Kyocera QCP-7035 (Palm) (Flip phone color)
Kyocera QCP-6035 (Palm) (Pseudo flip, greyscale)
A bump to see if anyone has a solution, many thanks for taking a look.

10123,
Let's just put it this way. X1 out of the box will not be what it is advertised as. You're going to need to work on your end to turn it into a beast.
Cheers.

then about a 5 but im still on the original rom. ive really had no major problems with mine. its an x1a, seems to run out of the box better than what ive read of non x1a's and so no need for me to currently flash a different rom.
I've had my X1a for four months.
I ran R1 for about two days, R2 for a couple months and finally stock R3 for about one month.
After my disappointment with SE's R3 update ( I was expecting more), I flashed a custom ROM from Agent 47 and the phone is like a whole different device.
Winmo 6.5, TF3D, many tweaks cooked in.
It makes my Xperia experience much better.
Compared to the video, the realistic speed of X1 is 3 on a scale of 10.
About 8 .
I'd say a solid 6. Probably depends on software you have installed.
Man I'd never believe in speeds showed in this videos.
It's obvious it's a promo. I'd even never ask for such speed.
What's the question?
Ok, I watched the entire video, and I've got the latest firmware so I'll compare:
Pressing X-Panel Button and Launch Speed
*The actual X1 is only 10% as fast...
*When you press the actual button it takes about 1 second to launch
*In the updated X1, the pictures don't just pop up immediately, you actually have animation of the panel library appearing (With the updated panel manager)
*In the default X1, the pictures don't just pop up immediately, it takes atleast 1 second to launch. (With the default panel manager)
Changing Panel View and Speed
*The actual X1 changes panel orientation 80% as fast, thanks to the new panel manager.
Media Panel General Speed
*It's 80% as fast as the video, but ONLY when you don't have music playback. (thanks to the new media panel update)
Opening The Keyboard, and Auto-Rotation Speed
*The actual X1 rotation speed (using latest firmware) is 80% as fast in the messaging screen.
*Be warned, if you don't update your firmware than it should take about 10% as fast in the messaging screen.
Optical Joystick
*The Optical Joystick is not as smooth as shown in the video.
All in All, the speed is instantaneous compared to the actual X1 but the new STOCK firmware helps alot.

Im planning on getting one of these on Vodafone, so im guessing there will be voda branding, if there is branding what is it? Also does the speed differ from the sim free version??? Thanks

It will be just as fast...just make sure you update the Panel Manager, and the Media Panel from this website. The files you are about install will make your X1 panel experience fast. However, you can only download them on our forums because the updated panels aren't official.
Second, you need to update your ROM via Sony Ericsson's website. There have been 3 updates and they improve the speed every time.

TouchFlow2D/M2D Calendar Widget/Tab

I've spent the last week or so trying out ROMs and finding great stuff on this site for my Kaiser. Absolutely great community - you're the reason I got my Kaiser in the first place a year ago or whenever it was. I'm currently running Shifu's WM6.1 ROM and love it. I'm going to have to add wolfenstien and warcraft later .
The one (only?) thing that I miss from the non-TouchFlow2D/M2D UI for WM6.1 is the multiple appointment list on the today screen. I use my phone for work and the calendar is really important for me.
I added a softkey association with the calendar on my today screen with M2DC (helps!) but I'd love to have a view of all my appointments (today timeout based) on the today screen (under the clock or remove the clock or whatever) and have a list or today view as a widget on a tab.
Anyone seen anything to help with this? Maybe there's a TouchFlow2D/M2D today screen customizer that would help or something. I'll keep searching around but thought I'd ask.

New Owner questions... e. g. G-Sensor, colors...

Hi,
i have bought a German Vodafone branded Touch Diamond 2. But i have some questions:
- There is a built-in G-Sensor, which can be calibrated, but it do nothing else. I can rotate the phone till my hands fall off, but nothing happens (i already tried some registry tweaks, i found in this forum)
- When i click on the Symbols in the Startmenu line e. g. the battery symbol, then it doensn't open the battery settings, but something called "notifications" (Benachrichtigungen).
- The Manila screen has wrong colors. White/red instead of black/white. How can i change it?
- How can i get the "HTC Audio Manager" to play the files in a folder? I want to listen to a audiobook, but it messes up the file order, which is pretty annoying.
Now, while i am writing this, i think about flashing a unbranded ROM could be simpler, right? But is this the solution i am looking for?

- Accelerometer: Are you attempting to use the g-sensor for anything in particular? Try loading up the game "Teeter" which relies on the accelerometer for moving the ball along a maze. There are few provided apps which require the accelerometer functionality, and Manila doesn't rotate by default.
- TouchFLO notifications is an addon provided by HTC. Search the forums for instructions on how to disable this functionality; I believe there are a couple of applications which will allow you to do this without manually editing registry keys etc.
- Red / White is Vodafone's brand. You may be able to install a replacement skin for Manila, it's up to you.
I'm afraid I don't use my Topaz for listening to music, so I can't help with your final issue.
Flashing an unbranded ROM may resolve the third issue, but the rest will more than likely remain. I don't see them being issues, though, just personal preference!
HTH.
Thanks for the answers!
The solution for the first and the second problem is this. If someone is wondering: The Topaz has a built in G sensor, but it is unused, mean's that no installed program is using this feature by default. Really strange from my point of view!
The third problem seem to be a little more difficult: M2DC say's that manila is not installed! And i wasn't able to find a Diamond II skin to download. Others are available. Maybe someone can give me a hint?
For the fourth problem i work around using a patched TCPMP, which looks a little outdated, but is my personal number one for media playback.

I think you will find that the sensor is used when you flip the phone over on an incoming call to mute the ringing!
That's why I never use branded ROMs (T-Mobile Germany)!
M2DC won't work 100% with new Manillas, never worked on branded or official ROMs for me.
Try latest original German HTC WM6.1 ROM Build 1.39.407.1.
I don't like WM6.1, so I use Tom's Leo R2 WM6.5 incl. very nice Manilla 2.5, which runs great with latest Radio, but it's English language.
I don't like branded ROM's too. But the german vodafone flash isn't availble yet - so i can't go back in case of warrenty issue.
