Just wondering if anyone has a hack or somthing if so what kernel to get it over 768 MHz?
Not with a great deal of luck.
I've been oc'd up to 844, but started to get the occasional reboot. I was stable at 821. I didn't notice any performance gain, but I did see a greatly increased battery drain. Truthfully, it isn't worth it.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo-on-Hero action here!
Im oc to 806 runs great. But like user said battery drain for real. And some apps work funny so I agree not worth it. Plus it makes my phone screen warm.

What kernel were you guys using???? Could you share the zip?!? I have a 3200mah battery extension so I wouldn't mind the drainage

I'll just add to the other remarks. I run 768 all day, but lose stability over 800. Good luck!
I dont think going that far up really gives that much of a performance gain though. Just saying
Not really and my phone freezes at 844 but it is stable at 825 but the same minimal performance gain as 806mhz.
- Kifno's HTC Hero CDMA's speed makes it the best hero....THE FLASH!
about to flash it finally somone was nice enough to post a zip file!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: flashed great running stable at 825 mHz

I found this thread on the bionic forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439013 with overclock zips. The modules for d3 are available here http://code.google.com/p/opptimizer/downloads/list from what I read in the official thread here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/14511-op...4-overclocking-kernel-modulesofficial-thread/ it would show up in set cpu and wouldn't require having the MIN jacked all the time. anyone see any reason this wouldn't work?

Working good here. Clocked at 1.2
[edit] So apps do see the max as 1.2, Rom manager, cm settings etc. Linpack shows better performance no different than the 1200 overclock binary. The only thing missing is the 1000 slot, 300 600 800 and 1200 are all useable.
I'd say it's very safe just don't go too high.

Reading in the other threads it appears that much over that and phone will just reboot due to lack of voltage. I thought this would be nice in that the kernel sees the change and we don't have to have the cpu at full throttle

Go to the opptimizer website (Tekahuna's website).
Then go to updates. There should be updated modules there for droid 3 with voltage control.
Always post your results and questions on the official thread here...

Yes I just read through the entire thread. Voltage control is a fail for the bionic sadly due to reasons I mostly but not entirely understood. I think the d3 is gonna have the same issue from what I (sorta) understood. However when I have time to sit down and try this I will def post in the official thread to let him know my experience.
I just wanted to show it to the xda d3 community, as the idea of voltage control and a 1.5 or higher oc is exciting (if you're like me and get excited about such things )

Found this new CPU app and you can change the voltage in it
https://market.android.com/details?...29tLnNtYXJ0cHJvamVjdHMuQ1BVQ29udHJvbExpdGUiXQ..
I was wondering if blitz supported the voltage adjustments as maybe it would help us that get a decrease in battery life because of blitz? Ik its UC already but thought fine tuning it to phone could help even more?
Also, if you were to use this with rom toolbox would the CPU settings interfere? Would you have to remove rom toolbox?

Also, hicks, watchdog didnt show me anything abnormal so I dont think that was my issue.

Okay thanks I'll try it out.
A few things that people seem to forget when comparing battery life. One person can get twice the battery life than someone else for many reasons.
A few:
1) are you in a 3g or 4g area? 4g will use more battery because of dual radio (recommend to switch to CDMA only mode when in a 3g only area, OR when you don't need 4g connectivity)
2) What options are running? (Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, etc) Don't have any of those features on, especially Wifi, it will suck your battery down quick.
3) Your CPU app (Such as SetCPU). Is is set to Performance, OnDemand, PowerSave? I don't fiddle around with custom settings, just use the stock of those 3 and notice a major battery improvement with just the stock PowerSave.
4) Is your screen brightness on manual or auto mode? Auto mode will take 2-5 times as much juice as it's constantly scanning and changing screen brightness.
5) (almost forgot this) Most importantly, make sure you are in a good signal area (at least 80%) before complaining of poor battery life. Anything below 80% signal can cause your phone to search hi and low for a better tower and better signal. Anything below 50% is likely to draing your battery in half the time, or even less. Constant scanning for a better signal uses up a LOT of juice. I've had past phones that lasted for 2.5 days on a single charge when in full signal. Down to about 10-12 hours in poor signal and similar usage in both areas.
5.5) Those who don't yet know... Don't complain like the ones on Verizon website/reviews where the only thing that some will complain, or markdown on, is battery life. You are using (by assumption you reading this in this forum) a 4g, dual mode phone. NOOBS: This means there are two radios/antennas in your phone that are working together. One on 3g(CDMA) and one on 4g(LTE). This automatically makes your 4g phone use more battery. Don't like it? Go buy a 3g only phone... :O
Make sure to also not have any 'task manager/killer' running. These apps are not only bad for your phone (been proven), but they also use more juice than they save. At least in my experience and from other posts I have read.

hey xda i haveee a thrill 4g and im thinking of trading it for an infuse 4g but im not sure what should i doooo????????????????
I have both... the infuse kills the thrill at battey life... you can easily get a full day with the latest cm7 Rom on it...
However its only a single core processor so its not as powerful as the thrill...
Also the thrills screen looks better in sunlight then the infuses super amoled + display believe it or not...

Great question!
Also did you calibrate the battery after any rom changes?
How are you managing your background processes?
Can you provide us with a list of apps and the details of your rom
Version and so on?
Lastly what options or scripts did you run with V6 Supercharger? Are you sure they are sticking on boot or did you setup to run on boot per second script (can't remember the name that one.) ?

I've had awful battery life on every version I've tried, 4.3, 6.1.1, 7.2 & 8.1.1 The only mod I made to was changing the CPU governor. Tried several, SmartAss, SmartAss v2, Conservative off the top of my head. Could never get the battery to last more than 7 or 8 hours. And that was if I hardly used the phone.
I love the ROM but its completely impractical for me to use it the battery life is that poor. Using CM 7.2 I can get over 24 hours out of a charge depending how much I use the phone
Well I set up CM7 and ice cold using the same apps, kernel, clock speed and everything and got very similar battery life. Interesting.

I'm going to give 8.2 a go over the next few days see if thats helps. I used to got a lot of random reboots on previous versions. Reading the change log it looks like those bugs have been resolved, maybe that is something to do with it
I am pretty much running it out of the box without any modifications. Thought asop roms would work better in terms of performance and battery life. Looks like I might have to ditch this for another rom

Hello folks. Firstly I need to clarify I am in Australia and it's summer so it is damn hot here.
When I use GPS Google maps nav it only takes a 15 minute trip and the phone is so hor it almost hurts to touch the phone. I run it 24/7 underclocked with elementalx kernel at 1.2ghz with super cool profile.
Thing is I have experimented with very low clocks during GPS and I have found 600mhz or 594 to be exact is the lowest I can go where Google maps still functions ok and the phone doesn't burn up but still reaches up to 45c.
Is there any thing else I can do ?
