Long story short:
I was running this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926116
and decided to reflash it. After flashing Firerat's Recovery another time (from the same file on the SD card that I have used many times before,) I rebooted into ClockWorkMod recovery and went to flash zip. from sd card but it could not find the sd card and then crashed. I then went into the rom that already existed, it could not read the sd card either. Not knowing what to do, I then went and followed the instructions for "if you found yourself stuck without recovery:" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139 here. From there I did a hard reset and now the phone is running Android 1.1, but the Sd card slot still doesn't work.
(Kind of unrelated, when I just got the phone the camera would not work, and would Force Close whenever I tried it. Same thing on any Rom I tried on the G1. After the hard reset however, it started working.)
Anybody know what to do?

im running cyanogen 4.0.2 or 4.0.4 whichever one i load up from sd at the time, but both are stable. i have newest radio and spl also. the issue is simple. i can get into recovery mode and bootloader menu. everytime i reboot it goes to bootloader menu(3 skateboards). camera button is not held down either or stuck. the only way to get past this screen is to evertime i reboot to factory wipe and install new rom which is a pain. i was wondering if by having the original image DREAIMG file in a folder on my sd is whats causing this. but now that i cant get past this screen i cant remove it from sd. i also already tried mounting sd to comp from console using: "ums_enable" it does nothing(tried it on 3 computers). im tired of reseting and reflashing. pls some assistance.
Have you tried to reflash the SPL? You could just redo the entire root process and replace everything.
New Isuue, Same Problem
Sorry it took so long to get back here. No I haven't tried that. How could it be the SPL? Im asking it in a meaningful way, like why and/or how could it be?
I will reflash the SPL tonight and edit post if it works.
I also erased my sd card and re partioned in in "parted" it booted fine. The battery died today and i rebooted it and BAM! bootloader screen again. So i factory reset and flashed a new ROM image. then it worked fine. now only problem is the private apps i have installed wont work and they get stuck on uninstalling....Whats the fix for that?
Thanks XDA!!
You need to start over and replace everything. It sounds like you have multiple problems. Use THIS guide starting with the downgrade bacause it will reflash EVERYTHING on your phone. If the problem persist then it's hardware issues. Redownload everything, don't use anything you already downloaded because these files might be bad too.
Hi Everybody,
First of all - please accept my apologies if this question has been asked before. I have searched the forum and I wasn't able to solve my problem in any way described (that I could find that is).
Second, and I know this sound stupid, but I honestly do not know what I did wrong and where I ****ed up. I have rooted my stock NC and it worked fine. I have also played around a lot with the Froyo from SD - and that too worked fine. Today I decided to give the CyanogenMod version on the built-in flash and that too went OK and it was running perfectly. At some point I accidently managed to boot it half-way up on a flash card and now the NC is half dead.
The NC still boot fine on the Froyo sd card and on the recovery flash I used to install the CyanogenMod, but without a flash card inserted, the NC is completely dead. I can press and hold the on/off button as much as I like, I can hold the nook button while doing on/off - nothing - and I do mean nothing happens.
I have tried the the flash stock-1.0.1-CRW.2.zip recovery that install a new /boot and it installs fine - but still - the moment I remove the SD card, the NC is dead again.
Any ideas? I feel I have tried pretty much everything.
Solved!
Managed to solve that one myself. The trick was to use the second image not the first one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945838
You said you booted it up on a flash card? CM7 is not meant to be bootable on flash card.
No, after playing around with an installed CM7 it got to a point where all of a sudden it was completely dead without a flash card (not even a small flash on the screen when powering on/off) but with my Froyo 2.2 card inserted it booted just fine.
As it turned out I think I know what happened (basically because I just did it again). I used the CM7 "Format Flash" to prepare a clean flash card for storage - but when I do that it screws up the internal system (probably the /boot partition).
Anyway - the recovery flash that uses dd to copy the entire partition worked just fine.
So earlier I had thought I bricked my nook. I had gotten it root pretty easily, but then my problem afterwards was a bit rough. I had installed a rom, that was done without issues, I wasn't sure how i got to nook to boot to android with the sd card having an image burned onto it, but it did. Anyway, after rebooting the nook with the clockwork mod recorvery sd card, it booted back into recovery. I, like an idiot, formatted my sd card from recovery, this caused the nook to freeze. It sat for about 5 minutes and then turned off, then afterwards it wouldn't turn back on.
After burning cw recovery image back onto sd card it booted up fine, i formatted everything, flashed the rom over again and now it won't boot into andriod. it keeps booting into recovery, and if i take out the sd card it won't turn on at all, it just stays black and doesn't even flicker white.
Everytime i take out the sd card the problems start, with the sd card in, it works fine, it just will only boot the image which is clockwork mod. Any suggestions? I'm clueless on what to do? I've tried a search but it didn't seem to do any good. Thanks in advance.
Hey,
Been trying to reset the tab to factory defaults the tab does his mojo untill it reboots into android 2.3.6 and then everything is still on the internal SD card.
Then i went to hook it up on the pc tried manually deleting everything on the internal SD pc say's its done i look in the tab and its all still there.
Tried copy'ing files over to the SD card but does not wanne stay on it.
Ok now then i went on booting odin up and rooted it + cwm recovery on it it does it like a charm and works can boot into the recovery.
Now since i cant hold any roms on the internal sd card i went on using an external sd card put on cm 10.2 and gapps,
Installed the rom then reboots into a newer version of cwm and it tells me its not rooted.
ok fine i restarted the tab and went back into recovery then it was rooted.
Went on to install the cm 10.2 and gapps now its hanging at the cm logo on boot
So i went on to flash dbdata.rfs.tar wich normally gets me passed a bootloop.
This time however it dident work.
Anybody has any ideas i can still try to get it to work ?
I think its more of a lock on the internal SD card since it can't hold any files nor delete's anything but im not sure hopefully some1 with some more experience then me can help me further on this problem
Thx
Not locked. The internal SD chip is failing.
You will see many post that has symptoms such as: previous owner info cannot be removed. New data cannot be saved. Wiping failed.
My mind was vaguely thinking that but still hoping it wasent
Hi, i'm new member here
I wanna ask something.
Why everytime after I installing custom ROM, my SD card won't detected??
i've tried several custom ROM and it still the same..
actually, this is my second time rooting my phone.
I tried it last year, and it worked well.
no problems appear after installing custom ROM
but then my phone's broken so it went back to stock eclair.
eclair was boring. So i decided to root my phone (again).
It succeed.
Now my phone's rooted. SD Card still detected.
Then I installed custom ROM that i've installed before, gingerfast V2.
Installed well, but then it won't detect my SD Card.
I tried gingerDX too. I've tried it before and worked well. But now, it didn't worked well because my SD card won't detected.
I even tried to unlook bootloader, install nAa kernel and miniCM.
But yeah, still my phone won't detect my SD Card.
Anyone knows what's the problem here??
Sorry if it's too long.

hi
thanks for your reply
i've tried everything in that post but still didn't work, my SD card still won't detected.
but there's a new development,
it detected by xrecovery though, but when it turned on, my phone still won't detect sd card
go to recovery and unmount SD and do mount SD and reboot
