Battery calibration - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I got nexus battery calibrator but I don't get how it works. Its a simple question. How do I have to calibrate? The text in the app doesn't make any sense imho. I don't get it.
Also which settings should I set it to
Not a urgent question but any help is much appreciated

Just set your age to 100%, then drain till the pop up tells you to plug in. That's basically it.

[Q] Help/advise needed on Droid and battery life

Just purchase my phone about two weeks ago, I been noticing that the battery runs out quick is there a rom you guys advise I should get to work out my battery problem? if so can you give me a link to it? and yes I have use the "search" tool but I would like some input from people actually using the roms and what they think.
Are you rooted? Are you using a task killer? Have you checked in settings to see what's using your battery? Mine always showed the screen using the most, set to auto.

If you open up the app menu, and go to the "Help Centre" it gives tips on how to "Train the battery". Haven't tried them yet, but seems to be a logical solution, so hope it helps even jus' a bit innit.
Thank you guys for the response I rooted my phone and installed a custom room its working great and battery life is better

Just to add some information to the thread. If you use a task killer, be careful not to use a kill all function. The task killer will kill processes only to have Android start them again, leading to an endless loop of restarts, which will drain your battery and adversely effect performance.
I get excellent battery life using Cyanogenmod or Sapphire, where I'm at right now.

I was having issues until I did the following......(and I am on the same build as you)
Go into recovery and wipe the dalvik cache. Reboot.
Set the automatic screen tweak under CM settings/user interface
These two things have seemed to make a pretty big difference. I am not running any tweaks or anything and with moderate use (some wifi, 10-15 emails, 4-5 texts, gmail sync) I am at 89% after three hours off the charger. While this isn't great (IMO) it is lots better than I have been getting. Hope that helps.
I had the same issue, but with only 3 hours of life between full charges, and one phone call for 15 mins.
I reverted back to 8/24.
Smolck you mean the automatic back light right?
I wiped kalvic cache... ill see how it goes without batt tweak and no apps running.

Yea. I just set it to what I thought were "power saving" settings. It seems the Dalvik cache is what did the main thing to help. All I can say is that I am still over 80% and I have been off charge since 7:00am CST. And this 8/25 build is SMOKING fast on my phone
It is fast. Its even faster with launcher pro.
Are you using the batt tweak? Which kernel?
Down from 55% to 50% in 75min

Stock kernel (what comes with the .zip) and no tweak.
Can someone do an analysis of my current battery usage and tell me what I need to do? Me hero won't even last half a day.

That screenshot isn't enough info. But go to settings/about phone/battery use and you will get a better idea of what is using the most power.
From 100 to 90% in 2 1/2 hours now. That's pretty good right? Stock 8/25 kernel w no tweak. If it keeps working ill backup and add other stuff and see

Well I think its fixed. Managed 13 hours and still 35% left using Google maps and Pandora plus regular use. Running the same configuration.

Indepth battery usage stats?

Is there an app that dispays what's actually draining the battery?
My cappy seems to randomly drain fairly steadily and quickly some days but not others with the same type of usage so I want to find out exactly whats happening.
Im currently using watchdog and systempanel but neither really show what's going on.

Hi, Nooby question coming up.
recently rooted my SGS2 using the Chainfire Kernel and now have noticed that Android OS is prominent in my battery usage, sometimes around 50%in an hour,
Is this normal?
I also run a HTC IS stock and I have not yet seen ANdroid OS on the usage stats.
What is Android OS doing as I have also noticed Android System in the list at times?

You can even calibrate your battery.
You need to root your phone to use this apk.
Have a look to battery saving tips from my signature.
Its silly to download apps conserving battery.
They also uses battery and ram.

Yes, but this one is different. Test it if you don't believe me, it tweaks your kernel and other stuff with different settings for every mod.

Giving this a try as well :good:
Any apk for unrooted apk, for saving battery on HTC desire c???
Sent from my HTC Desire C using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Battery calibration doesn't work as well on newer Android devices due to many changes in the past year or so to how Android reads battery percentage, sometimes it varies form device to device.
Battery life on the DC is great compared to bigger devices, EG; Nexus 5. Mainly due to small screen and low speed CPU.

Can anyone help me figure out what's keeping my phone up (wake locks)

When I saw these stats from my gsam app I got pretty worried and confused. Can any one help me figure out what is exactly keeping my phone up so much?
I dont have Google now enabled so I'm not sure what the heck "Google services" are waking my device that many darn times. this is a screenshot from yesterday. I downloaded wakelock detector and I'll post screenshots from that too.

Here are screenshots from today which even though I've barely been using my phone I'm still getting pretty bad drainage. I'm on viper 1.2.1 stock kernel any help is greatly appreciated please don't tell me to reflash the Rom though as I'm almost positive it's not an issue with the Rom itself
Thanks for any help guys really appreciated

Not quite sure. I guess the first step would be to start disabling any google made apps that you dont use..... Do you have any consistent running background programs? When was the last time you rebooted your phone?

I posted screenshots from the wake lock app and it looks like I'm getting high wake locks from the lockscreen. Is this normal? I rebooted my phone and I don't have any consistently running apps that I know of.
If anyone else could give any input

my wakelock for lockscreen says 54s (x163)
IdleScreen:event_15 (29s) (x42)
IdleScreen:command_15 (25s) (x121)
But these should just be swiping up for unlock and putting in my pattern..... so..... yeah. no idea. Do you use Greenify?
