Note to Users
Because of my growing frustration with Samsung, I have decided to focus my efforts on theming aosp and will not be updating TOB from this point on. I am grateful for all the interest and support you guys have shown for this theme, but all good things must eventually come to an end. I'm not sure how much longer I will have a Fascinate, but I am sure that I will be running aosp/cm builds for the rest of the time that I do. If anyone would like to take this project over feel free to do so.

Features
- Themed statusbar and dropdown menu.
- Themed lockscreens.
- Themed Android & Samsung widgets.
- Themed dialer with optional voicemail button defaults.
- Themed progress bars, menu options, etc.
- Accurate battery and reboot options.
- Fully debinged browser and Samsung keyboard.
- Option to remove the statusbar clock.
- Themed LP+ widgets (separate download below).
- Optional Modified TW Launcher.
Recent Updates
(3/10) - Added tab/rotary lockscreen music controls by sbrisssen. I did not personally test as I'm on aosp, but I'm positive it will work.
(3/1) - Changed update script to edify for support with new cwm 3.0 (although I'm not sure how necessary this is atm). Confirmed working with regular and red cwm.
(3/1) - Grabbed Adrynalyne's Settings.apk for compatibly with SuperClean 2.x. I tested and confirmed it working with deodexed eb01 and SuperClean 2.6 (and 2.7 before it was pulled).
(3/1) - Resolved phone force close issues. AOSP answer is now the default, and it is themed with a blue in-call gradient.
(3/1) - Menu unlock is now removed from AOSP lockscreen (thanks to sbrissen).
(2/27) - Added all of sbrissen's latest mods ..... clock options in settings, carrierless lockscreens, aosp answer, etc. Yes, he is a beast.
(2/27) - Themed Launcher2.apk for those that prefer to use it (like myself).
(2/27) - Themed Phone.apk to remove green in-call gradient fill (per suggestion). It is now blue and looks great.
(2/27) - Removed several irrelevant download links from OP (i.e. tw gtglauncher). For those that like touchwiz stuff, I highly recommend that you check out CrushD's recent mods found here (particularly the launcher).
(2/21) - Added my own version of the reworked dialer. The voicemail button now defaults to carrier voicemail (i.e. *89). Also added three optional dialers that default to (1) google voice (2) youmail and (3) visual voicemail in the extras section below. To install one of the optional dialers, extract the zip and flash the appropriate version via CWR.
(2/21) - Themed google search, facebook, market (thanks 00.ante), and youtube apks added. They are all based on the most recent updates. See pictures above to see how they look.
(2/15) - Included my reworked quickpanel. Text below quick panel buttons now read "Data" and "Rotation." This does away with the unsightly double lines without removing the text completely like other themes do.
Credits
- Nitsuj17 for his help and hard work. .
- Sbrissen for accurate battery, reboot options, clock options, and 5 lockscreens mods. He is officially the guru.
- DtachD for being able to answer just about every question I've asked about theming. He is a themer's themer.
- Adrynalyne for his reworked dialer which I used as a point of reference to make my smali edits for the voicemail button.
- Dhoard for his fully debinged browser & google search longpress fix.
- Bernard_Photography for the bootanimation pngs. I simply manipulated them to do what I want.
- Signals23 for the themed LP+. His other versions of LP+ can be found here.
- Gtg465x for his modified TW Launcher for the Captivate. Follow link below to install.
- The developers of GIMP for their useful and awesome little tool.
YOU MUST BE DEODEXED TO APPLY THIS OR ANY THEME! IT WILL NOT WORK RIGHT OTHERWISE.

This is a very nice theme. I like it's simplicity. Looking forward to future updates. What Samsung Widgets are you thinking about theming? A different color for Buddies Now would be nice. Thanks again.

No, but I will make a patch for it tomorrow. I had already planned to do this (just waiting for a request).

Hey ben,
Sent you a private msg about the battery. Don't know if there is a way to make it work but I would like it to count down using 1's instead of like 10's (ie. 50,49,48,47). Not like it is now counting down by 10's or whatever.
Thanks

Because I used the Samsung battery as a base, this is the only option I have. They used a total of 13 pngs, I think, which count down by 10's (with a random 35, 65, and a 0). The only way to change it would be to create the additional battery screenshots, which is indeed no small task (and is probably why nobody has themed the Samsung battery). I plan to edit the circle battery d with the blue for those who would like a more accurate battery. I personally don't mind the countdown by 10's

This is a MetaMorph port of DarkEdge UI 2.2 for the Droid Eris.
It was created by Xeudoxus
Original thread can be found here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/61048-release-darkedge-ui-2-2-a.html
ALL CREDIT GOES TO HIM FOR CREATING THIS AWESOME THEME!!!
It was ported by me (KagedIn), and there were some bits and pieces taken from DarkFroyo, and Asimmons Hero port that had to be used for functionality and text readability.
Thanks to:
------------------------------------
Xeudoxus - for creating this theme!
rycheme - for creating the request thread and helping me bug test
Kaos, Conap, and Tazz - for making the Droid Eris rock!
eklipze - created DarkFroyo which a couple of things are borrowed from
Asimmons - for doing a port for the Hero, a couple of things were borrowed from his port
Daneshm90 - for creating his awesome themeporter
Kovelski over at droid forums - for creating the awesome icons included
Everyone from the request thread - for being so patient!
Also, just so it's clear: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You're doing this by choice. If you follow the instructions it will work.
Instructions:
---------------------------------------------------
1. Before anything else, absolutely: NANDROID BACKUP!!!! ALWAYS NANDROID BEFORE FLASHING/INSTALLING ANY THEME ON YOUR PHONE!
2. Download from the link at the bottom of the post. You can do this with your phone or pc, your choice.
3. Move the zip to your sd card under the folder "AndroidThemes"
4. Open Metamorph and use it to extract "DarkEdgeEris"
5. Apply each .apk individually, you can try to click the apply all but I haven't tested that out.
NOTE: When applying phone.apk it is NORMAL for it to fc. That's why it on the bottom of the list for system apps. If it fc's just click "Force Close" then really quickly try to apply framework-res. Also if your phone reboots when applying framework-res that is normal too.
6. Reboot when finished.
7. If you want to apply any extras, repeat steps 6-8.
Changelog:
------------------------------------------------
GREEN
v1.0 - First Public release, most major bugs fixed.
BLUE
V0.97 - First Public release, most major bugs fixed.
GOLD
V1.25 - Various bug fixes throughout theme. MMS still has readability bug
V1.2 - Added Fix for LockScreen MMS Icon. Fixed LatinIME
V1.1 - Added Remaining System Apps
V1.06 - Music App media icons fixed in player and widget
V1.05 - Expander Fixed, Fixed Market and Browser Search readability, GoogleQuickSearchBox now has a black bg
V1.0 - First public release, most major bugs fixed
Known Bugs:
----------------------------------
General
Phone buttons barely don't line up
DeskClock doesn't use system font
MMS contact quick search readability
GoogleQuickSearch has only been initially ported. Nothing has been resized/fixed yet for both blue and green.
Compatibility:
----------------------------------------------
Made for Pure CM6 ROMS
Tested/Working on latest versions of:
CELB Froyo
Floyo Tazz
Nonsensikal
Kaosfroyo
Vanilla Tazz
FroyoShedyo
*Update 1/15/11: This theme was meant for Pure 2.2 ROMs. ROMs such as Vanilla Tazz, Floyo Tazz, and FroyoShedyo which have mixed 2.2 and 2.3 elements and include a non-stock music app are not fully compatible.
I am currently working on getting this fully working on GingerBread.
It is recommened to install the theme on a PURE VANILLA ROM.
If you want a more complete themed launcher, I recommend downloading ADW or ADWex and using the DarkEdge themes found in the market. It'll theme the launcher and includes more icons, and gives it an overall more complete feel.
I personally use LauncherPro, this Metamorph includes a LauncherPro Dock to use with the theme as well as an icon for the app drawer. It will copy these files to your sdcard and will be located in the folder LauncherPro. It also contains a font file which will change your system font.
This will work with ADW, the Notification bar should be semi-transparent but it wont be the fully transparent with the scanlines (ran into an issue trying to create a fix for this) Also if anyone wants the solid black notification bar PM me.
All system apps already contain the icons made by Kovelski for DarkEdge UI orignal thread can be found here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/48683-release-kovicon-hybrid-icon-pack.html

Screenies would be awesome.
There are screenies in my request thread, you're welcome to use them here Kagedin. I would like the other system app icons, I can test them for you.
From my Eris on CELB Froyo
Are we stuck with just one color for now? or can I grab another color DE theme from droidforums?
*edit*
Flashed this over Nonsensikal Black and Blue with no issues.
It did reboot when applying the google search theme, but upon reboot the theme was successfully applied. I did not have to re apply for any to stick.

The browser and music app work perfectly fine, the only bug with the music app isn't really a bug, if you go to the DarkEdge gallery the music app has the shuffle and repeat down by the music controls, but in this port the repeat and shuffle stay in the top corner that's what I meant by layout doesn't match I know it has to do with the xml's, I just don't know how to edit them correctly.

Cool! Thanks for trying it out on Nonsensikal hope you're enjoying it!
About the colors, for now we're stuck with only one color, the default gold. Once I smooth out all the bugs as I can with this one then I'll think about porting other colors. I won't port all the colors though, I figured if I get enough requests for a specific color I'll do that one. Just to get this one was a LOT of work lol, a lot more than I expected for sure.
Anyways thanks for trying this out guys hope you're enjoying it!
The only problem I've found so far is picking a contact in the MMS apk. The font is dark and the background as well so you can't see what (or who) your choosing.
Other than that....so far.....rockin.
I see what you mean about the phone, the selectors are a little small also, but definately not a deal breaker.
Great work.......I believe you when you say "a lot of work", for sure!!
Wow nice catch on the mms didn't even know about that haha I'll get started on a fix lol

I figured as much. If and when you get to colors I'd be grateful if either blue or green gets ported over. Or if you want if you point me to some reading on how to port the theme I'll work on getting the colors to work while you smooth out what we have so far.
I absolutely like how it looks and fits on my phone now, I can't wait to see more polish.
Yeah my favorite colors for the theme were gold and blue so most likely that'd be next.
The biggest issue I'd have with porting other colors is a number of .9.pngs that I couldn't resize our remake had to be borrowed from asimmons port which is orange and it's close enough to gold that I could get away with it for this, but for the others I'd end up having to find a better way to resize them or, most likely, end up having to make them from scratch.
If anyone can point me in the direction of a good/easier way to resize 9 patch images it'd be much appreciated. I've already tried themeporter but not everything resized and I couldn't get asimmons theme injector to work.

Yea looking at the original DE request thread I don't see much in the way of compatibility/ support for CM6 which is what alot of what the ROMS out for the eris are right now.
If you are having issues with the color of some icons, check these out. Maybe for the time being anyway you can make them an alt icon set for the theme.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I flashed this over KaosFroyo v38 without any problems. The only issue I have noticed is that the text in the status bar is still black making the clock and any other text there not show up. Besides that and the other know issues it looks great.

Use the Cyanogen mod settings to change them to whatever color you want.
My colors vote would be for any of the cool colors - green, blue, or purple I've been running just about everything on the phone and haven't noticed any hiccups or issues. I'll definitely keep an eye out.
As for the remaining system icons, I'll be happy to test them for you so you can include it in the metamorph .zip. I do use CarHome, Email, and GTalk.

Easiest way I've found is to use the apktool from the android sdk. It will keep the .9 barriers intact. Use gimp to scale the image and run it through the 9patch tool in sdk. Your images should retain their shape 100% when your done. Its a bit of a PIA, but works!

Version 1.0
AOSP Lock
Puzzle Lock
With this version you will notice that just about everything has been redone. I have expanded the style scheme with some animations, shadowing effects and reconfigured the font scheme as well. Plus many, many more!
You should notice some overall speed increases, a new UI appeal and potentially less battery usage.
Once again, I strongly recommend wiping your dalvik-cache to get the most from this release.
Maintenance Realease 1 (Previous version & DL09 ONLY)
^^ Download link ^^
The main framework has been completely rebuilt for speed. The UI is now in control and it now incorporates a much better style scheme. You will notice the dark transparent backgrounds have returned and we are now running on a custom font color and shadowing effects. plus many more...
This is a universal patch (DL09 ONLY). So whether you are running the aosp lock or the puzzle lock version, this is for you!
I strongly recommend that you wipe your dalvik-cache as well as your cache!

The lock screen zip from adrynalyne in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10580111&postcount=57 will give you a nice green/gray themed AOSP lock screen to replace the puzzle lock.
Found a small graphical bug, the buttons at the bottom of the dialer are not aligned. They are off to the left.

I noticed that as well. Also on menus where you hit "more" to get more options the second pop-up is still the transparent black that is hard to read.
Nice work notta! I love this theme! The matrix geek inside is satisfied!

I will most definately see what I can do as long as it's ok with adrynalyne. Not trying to step on anyone's toes here.
Theme looks awesome...only thing im not a huge fan of is the popup menu's being green, black would have been better in my opinion but the theme is awesome...good work

There was an issue with the black making the text hard to see, hence the change. I am open to suggestions.

You could ask him if you could just include it but its not necessary. If you just flash adryns zip after the theme it will replace it and the theme will take hold for the new lock screen too.

I haven't got around to asking yet but I did take a look at it. It appears the android.policy is the only thing changed. So yes you can flash this over.
I am partial to my puzzle lock but I do have this done and merged into the full theme. After I get his ok I can upload a new zip. This way people can pick the puzzle lock version or aosp lock version.

As you can see, this is my first post here. The work you all do is unbelievable, so thanks for it all! With that said, I have an issue. Hatespawn, you're saying I can flash Adryn's zip after this theme, and it should replace the puzzle lock? If so, it doesn't seem to be working for me. Running DL09 modem, 1230 nonvoodoo kernel. The puzzle lock screen persists. I've tried flashing it via CWM both with and without wiping data/cache. What am I doing wrong?
Wow, this looks great! The only thing I don't like is the font, how hard would it be to change it to something sans serif? At some point I want to learn how to do this myself but i haven't found a good tutorial or instructions yet, although i imagine it's not too hard.

Let me preface this by saying: THIS IS NOT BASED ON ANDROID 4.0...I'm not that good. This is a rom themed to the specifications of ICS and Slate and when I say themed, this thing is DEEP. I feel I can claim with certainty this is the heaviest themed rom out for the Incredible. Take special note of the custom Rosie and all the hidden bits of ICS. Also, this has all of the features which can be found on McSense.
Normal disclaimer about how flashing a rom can be dangerous for your phone and such. Please always perform a backup before flashing any of my work (or anything really). If you some how mess up your phone it's your fault, not mine. You are not allowed to sue me, all you'd get would be student loans anyways.

Great looking ROM! I'm also wondering about a battery percent mod. One other question.... does this have the Ext4 mod baked in and if not do you use it or find it offers much benefit McD?
Thanks for your hard work on this!
Had to do several hot restarts and reboots to get the keyboard to show up. Setting things up now. will report later

This is using Tinys v19 correct? Just wondering because I was having some touchscreen response issues initially and that was a problem with v10 but it was supposedly fixed in v19.... could have just been something with the phone settling in so I will report back.

It does not and I have been using it for a while. Honestly it's hard to tell because Sense 1.0 is pretty damn fast on it's own, but not having it flashed right now I think I can tell a slight difference.
One thing if you do flash it, since it hasn't been updated with Tiny's kernel (I don't think) you'll have to flash the Ext4 mod and then flash the newest kernel over the top of it.

Can I flash this over McSense 2.5 or does it require full wipe?

NEW FREE BOOT ANIMATIONS! (The actual boot animations look much better than the gifs...the spinner looks wonky in the gif because they messed up image alignments. Also, I could only upload 20 images in the gif...try them out for yourself!)
After downloading, rename the zip file to bootanimation.zip and copy into /system/media with rw-r-r permissions. I suggest you backup your original bootanimation.zip for possible future restore. If these instructions are not familiar for you, it might be best for you to leave your phone stock.

Yeah, sorry guys. I started working on the update, then I had an injury and school started, so honestly, I haven't worked on it at all this week. I'm starting to feel better now, and I'm ahead of my studies, so I'll have time this week to work on it. Hopefully I'll be able to release by the end of next weekend.
Basically, at this point, I prefer the way my CM7 version is looking...so I'm taking some of the visual treatments of that theme and applying it back into the CM9, which is ironic, because the CM7 theme was actually inspired by the CM9 version...but now I need to pay more attention to the CM9 so that it's got the same consistent quality theming that the CM7 has currently (which is near perfect, imho). Don't worry, I'm maintaining the same holo style, just making everything fit together more nicely.
What I've been able to do already, is merge the application theming...which means that most of the individual applications' theming has already been ported. What I have left is to merge all of the framework buttons, bars, etc...which didn't seem like much at the time until I spent enough time running CM9 to witness all of the coloration inconsistencies...I"m a perfectionist, and I'm simply ashamed of this CM9 theme in it's current state, to be quite honest. Which means you can rest assured, I will have it all fixed up and ready to go fairly soon.
Long story short, and excuses aside, I will get back on track with progress this week for you guys. Thank you so much for your support and patience. Also, if there's something you see that looks funky...can't see text well because of a background color, buttons looking all jacked up, or whatever, feel free to take screenshots and PM me with a link (you can also email directly to [email protected]). Chances are, I already know about the issue...but I'd rather get 100 screenshots of things I already know, than miss something that would be important to end-users.
I do plan on a donate and free version for the play store. But I need to get the quality to my standards before doing so.
The adw ex theme concept was to address the redirection issues with apps that have come caps in the name. However, after this upcoming update, all future updates will be built from source, as I now have my Linux box set up, and I believe that will no longer be an issue. If I'm incorrect, then I'll probably do the adw ex theme for that specific purpose.

One of "our" favorite quotes that we apply to all forms of gfx design!
(Just click on this for tapatalk users)
Youtube Preview
DOWNLOAD V1.5
This Is based off an original @ssojyeti2 mock-up and then we both did a ton more work from then on.
This is sort of a mixture of our original tron theme mostly just the Statusbar icons and app drawer
Icons the rest is original to this theme. So make sure you leave Ssojyeti a +1 or a thanks b/c its
his gfx that put this together. This theme includes many mods that you wont see anywhere else on any other rom.
We would like to give a Big THANKYOU to @fisha21 b/c without him alot of this theme's inversion
would absolutely not be possible.
This is another animated theme brought to you by team anonymous. This is our second rendition
of an animated tron theme. We actually made alot of the gfx for this before we did the theme and
yeti has done the rest to fit with his motif. This theme is inverted and it does not break font size.
Font sizes will remain in tact so for those of you who like big font enjoy. Also that could not have
been done without borrowing fisha21's resources.arsc and hexing out what he already had done.
I will admit I have removed some animation things due to glitches and v 1.0 will not be opted...
I will opt in v 1.1 most likely. B/c its not completely finished yet. So im not gonna opt it when its not finished...
I will be adding more and making settings.apk independent again so that all icons remain within the app itself...
I will also be trying more animations and who knows if they'll work or not; I tried prism that
didnt work, tried a few others, but some work some don't...
I WILL BE UPDATING THIS ON THE DAILY THERE ARE A FEW HERE'S AND THERE'S THAT NEED TAKEN CARE OF ENJOY FOR NOW!
Technically you don't have to wipe anything its written into the updater script but I always recommend wiping caches no matter what
Wipe cache and dalvik cache.

Flashed on Renovate 9.0. All is good, really nice theme. A request tho - can you make options for the app drawer and navbar to be semi-transparent, and the status bar transparent? Theme would be the bees knees with those.
:mmmmmm: taters..... Lol. Glad to see this come to life. As always it totally separates team anonymous from the pack.

Yes that can be done and trans sb is something I will do right now. I have it controlled with hex so easy enough. The nav bar yeah we may be able to find a medium of fill% we like can't say till I see it in place.

AMAZING job! Small request, would you be able to make a zip that fills in the numbers blue instead of it being a outline for the 4x2 weather clock widget?

Technically those r different fonts I think yeti used crr ntn outline on that clock but yes perhaps. The original mockup had 4 flippers and looked much better we just sort made this work.

okay one small problem I noticed, for some reason since flashing this I can't get Pulse (RSS feed app) to work. Just force closes. Uninstalled, reinstalled, same thing. I dirty flashed my rom and it works. Reflashed this theme and it doesn't work, something is messing with it for some reason.

Ok how do i bring up pulse... Sorry never used the rss feed before! And I need more info than just that... What rom where is the f/c how do i get to it etc?
OK yeti informed me that it's a popular news feed app from the market i will download and try now.
Its so I can track down the f/c from a logcat.
This?
Trans statusbar is posted in post # 2... Enjoy I'll see if we can fill in the numbers for the clock tonight...

Np most mods people request are easy I basically rewrite all the xml that would otherwise usually make a mod somewhat complicated! My Ui is completely original in how the xml is written I change as much as I can. Most of the layouts aren't even the same the header is completely original not one line of code written by google or htc still exists in the header. I have been somewhat developing this ui for quite sometime...Only recently did I crack the header and how I could use relative layouts to position everything, the secret is to remove the date. And some of you may notice in land the ui isnt exactly perfect but I will get to that eventually the only thing that isnt perfect in land is the notification rows. Most likely b/c the padding in land doesnt exist in smali. This theme in itself is basically a portrait mode theme but it works in land as well.. Just that one thing!

Yeah, looks like it's working fine for you. I can't open it just force stops. Must be something clashing with something. I'm using Renovate 9.0. When I open it just says Unfortunately, Pulse has stopped

I will talk to fisha tonight and see if we can figure out why... He is responsible for most if not all mods in renovate so yeah hopefully we'll be able to figure it out...
One thing you could try is replacing prism... Please post prism.apk from renovate 9.0 for me and I'll make you a .zip see if it fixes it. Since blinkfeed is controlled by prism I imagine this will work.
If that ends up fixing it I will make a renovate version of the .zip for you guys.
Just want to make this clear renovate and omj are the only roms I will actually fix f/c for.
They put the most in so I will fix whatever may come up with those roms.
Not sure if myhub is exactly the same on renovate but it may be but you will see a badboyz logo in there for sure if your on renovate and you goto the myhub app.
One thing ya have to unerstand fisha is a mod maker as well so alot of what he does is against the grain and some of his apk's may be customized thus you will have problems when trying to use an app such as prism.. See he does common-ctrl mods and framework.jar mods and even services.jar mods that may effect my apks since I dont exactly do every mod he does only most of em! And alot of times we even tag team mods trying to figure them out... So alot of what i do does match fisha21's work not exactly sure about prism, like I said i'll talk to him in a bit!
Like to give @fisha21 a shoutout to b/c without him most of what you see wouldn't be possible. We definitely are the best tag team as far as modding stuff goes. And of course yeti without his awesome gfx this wouldnt be possible either this is his tron vision and the big difference this time around is most of the gfx were done in ps vs ae... Def got a better result but yeah none the less I am proud of both themes. They are both epic in their own ways.
I'm out on the road, when I get home I'll upload it, I couldn't find it using solid explorer
