Skype Mobile???

I have seen the Verizon commercials for the droid advertising the Skype Mobile app. Is it possible to use this on a Sprint Hero? My little brother is in the Army and is over seas and this is the only way I can reach him. I have it on my computer but would love it on my phone. If this is possible and someone has the .apk file I would appreciate it if you could upload it onto here for me.

PM me and I'll send you the apk.
will it even work on the hero?
just wondering?
You can use Fring also (there's a skype portion for that).
just went to the market and they took Skype off Fring.

bueller, bueller?
Don't bother using the Skype app.
I installed the Eris apk ons it detects you are not on Verizon and quits with an error message.
I'm using nimbuzz, it is pretty good. I liked fring more before Skype went away.

Android app that works with nextel push to talk

I'm just curious if there is an Android app simliar to TIKL that can actually communicate with nextel's push to talk. My dad and I do a lot of side jobs together and his phone has push to talk and it would make life a lot simplier if I could make use of it from my Epic.
Nope. You could get a Nextel Android phone to do iDEN PTT, or alternatively move him to Android or iOS supported phone to TiKL on. No integration between the two.

Flashing Hero to Metro PCS?

Just got a hold of a hero that I need to flash to Metro PCS. Can anyone point me I'm the right direction so I can get this flashed ASAP.
THANKS!

metro pcs should do it for you however in order for them to port all your contacts u need to make sure u take have an active sprint account most metro pcs's have a machine inside there store that will do it.
Ok I think they will do this but I would like to do myself if possible. Should I leave it 2.1 or should I update to 2.2? I think Metro charges a fee to flash a phone to metro.
Will all things work like pictures and internet

Nevermind Metro can only get calls and messaging working. Someone please help to get all working.

Get CDMA workshop. That should do it. I flashed my phone to Mobi-PCS, it should be the same.

More options to choose from maybe?
I prefer to port a Sense4+ to our device than WP8 LOL. If you want WP together with Android, you need an HTC HD2. FuXXing large variety of ROMs.

I completely disagree. We have all the specs needed. All that remains is a willing dev. Nothing is impossible. Also, Launcher 8 is nowhere close.

Exactly why i agreed to.it being.impossible...plus the fact that windows os is supppsdly picky on the devices it runs on
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk 2
You would have kernel issues (different kernels, WP7 uses the Windows CE kernel, WP8 uses the NT kernel), hardware incompatibilities, security to deal with, and you'd be locked out of Microsoft services, among other issues. It's much more complicated than dealing with Android ROM ports, even with HTC's shoddy kernel work.
This really does not belong in the development section and as others have mentioned getting a windows based rom to run on a android phone would be almost impossible as a matter fact of all the phone forums I moderate I don't believe I've ever seen a windows rom for an android phone.
Thread closed since I don't see this as being a very productive thread.
