Hello all, I am new to this an have learned a great deal in the last month, I spend just about all my free time on this forum. I am currently running Cyanogen's 3.8.6.1 on my G1. Will the themes for his 3.9.7or8 work for my current rom? I do like the Hero themes and actually ran DrizzyJacNewVison3.2and it was beautiful and smooth but did not like the fact that I could not get full 3g and was not receiving all my text messages. I installed Cyan. 3.9.7 on my son's G1 and he alot of forclosures so I flashed his to JF1.5 because he liked some of themes that were out there for that bulid. I have looked in the theme section and can only find a few themses specifically for this build. I am not looking good enough? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

If the theme doesn't say specifically that your ROM works with this theme, then the theme won't work. You have to download a specific version for each release of a build, especially between Cyan's.

I would wait till Cyanogen releases his 4.0 stable build, that way you can get the latest themes for it. Cyanogen makes lots of changes in the files which are also themed. Putting one such that is newer than the rest of the ROM will cause many problems.
i've just recently started using the Elelinux 1.6 rom, and love it, its so smooth and probably my personal fave so far, but i was wondering, is the Minimal Matte theme working on this rom? if not could it be ported? =] there doesn't seem to be a lot of themes for this rom though..
maybe you can try the swedish forum from where the ROM is originally from. Having said that there are at least 3/4 on xda. surely thats enough?
Hello. I'm relatively new to flashing roms (I just recently rooted my phone) and I'm wondering what is the best rom for me. I like sense, but I want to play angry birds. What is a rom that is the least laggy for angry birds?
Also, I see a lot of people who say they use CM6. I assume that is cyanogenmod 6, but I'm unclear whether it is. The one under darchstar's thread? or another one, like aosp's 2.2 or jaybob413's? Which one of those is best (of their stablest release)?
Thank you so much for your time and patience with me
I like & I'm using cm6.1 stable. I've never tried AOSP but I've heard it's faster than & smoother than cyanogen. You don't have to get cm6.1 from a thread here though, you can just go to cyanogenmod.com & download it with the corresponding gapps if you want. I like cm better because it has a lot more customizable options. There are a lot of great themes for you to try out once you get flashing & roms down hope this helps

I tried angry birds on cm and aosp and a few others. I found aosp 2.2 runs angry birds the best by far. However, it is still going to be a little laggy.

Sorry to say but on AOSP you're out of luck because they don't have those options. You can change clock notification status bar & etc. colors on cyanogenmod though which is actually why I prefer it but to each is own Your best bet on AOSP is to find a theme you like & flash it but customizable wise I believe that's as far as you'll get
This is my version of CyanogenMod 7. I have spent a lot of time compiling this, but my efforts are none in comparison to what the CM team has done for us. I have themed this is in line with my Carbonite series, just throwing a little flavor out there. What you will find here is very similar to what you will find with the nightlys, only difference being that I am compiling the source, but it's all coming from the same place. Any issues you will have with my builds will be the same as you will find with the nightly builds. I take no credit for the Rom just the effort to put it together. Enjoy!

Here are the Google apps. I believe these came from Koush, the old ones don't work.

Sweet looks nice. Bars and 3G stay gray or turn blue when connected to google?
Variety is good!
Cam working at 720?

It appears to not work yet. I plan to keep this up to date as much as I can.

Technically nothing. Other than I compiled it from the source and added some flare to it for something different. It's made of the same stuff the CM7 nightlys are made of.

CM7 is a great base, and you can never go wrong with a little Flare hehe
Thanks for the work!!
Download link has changed. I fixed the menu color back to stock so you could actually read it. Sorry about that.
What nightly is this based off of? Or do you update nightly as well? I will keep an eye on this when cm7 is finished.

I believe that the OP says that these are built from source. Not hatin', but the OP has almost all the info you'd ever need (for future reference).
So, to the best of my knowledge, it's the same as a nightly, just pre-themed in source.

I am going to add a poll to this thread. Building from the source was fun but tedious. Do you guys want me to use the nightlys as my source and just build a theme you can flash over? Or do you want me to release the nightly+theme together as released, or continue as is currently- build from source+theme? I will not do much developing as the CyanogenMod team does a good job at that, I just wanted to see something a little different.
Edit: If this ends up being voted to more of a theme then this thread should be moved to themes section.

Just my two cents, it would probably be a lot easier on you if you just hooked into the new theme chooser functionality in CM7. If the underlying OS is going to be in lock step with CM, there's no use in you taking all the time to put the whole thing together.
Devs and theme designers need some spare time you know...
Theme would be nice

looks great, I would love if the status bar Icons would turn blue when connected. as for theme VS Rom, it would probably be easier on you to just do a theme, isn`t it a PIA to get the source and compile it whenever you make a change? Just my .02
What is the clock you're using? It looks like the Sense clock/weather thing.
I agree. The theme would prolly be better. You could post nightly+theme if you wanted, or just the theme. CM7 comes with a "theme Chooser" app that you can change the themes with. I have RCBlue right now. It looks good, but yours has more flair to it

I don't theme, but I think it would be more practical making a theme for the T-Mobile Theme Engine found in CM7 than to pull apart every nightly and theme it. But, that's me.
I have a question regarding this theme that I saw on this site, its called "honeycomb theme cm7 theme alpha 4" now, it seems really good I installed it to my phone (Eris) some of the features work and some didn't. From what I saw it looked really good; question: is there a honeycomb theme thats complete for the Eris?

What do you mean by complete? The reason some things don't show up is because that theme is meant for HDPI phones. Your best bet is to try to find an MDPI theme.
There is an ADW "theme" in the market. If that's what you are looking for.

That theme is still being worked on by the dev and the reason it seems incomplete is because it is incomplete and that's a big part of why it's still an alpha release.
