I was wondering if anyone has spotted a extended battery for the magic/ion yet? I should be getting my Ion any day and I'd love to have one. I've found no useful results on google.
The device is only a few weeks old, so don't expect to see one for maybe another month or 2.
Actually now that I have had time to play with my Ion; It gets better battery life than what my G1 did with my extended 2600mah Innocell battery. I can't believe the difference. This is what the G1 should have been.
1760mah Extended Magic Battery
His transaction history seems sound and he claims it is 1760mah. I ordered one. I'll let ya know what happens.
Is the size the same that original?

The item is coming from Europe. I ordered it at the end of June and I'm still waiting. I'm pretty disappointed in the time this has taken. This completely goes against the feedback left on his account.
I never did receive the battery. I'll be getting my money back. Although Yoobbao is now offering 2600MAH Batteries! I ordered one and should be receiving it shortly.
Look forward to hearing back from you.

The Magic already handles battery life a hell of alot better than the G1 but with so much battery... I don't expect to need to charge it that often.

True that, if I was just making some calls or text messaging i wouldn't need to charge it for at least a couple of days. Some occassions, for example hiking, I tend to leave GPS on all day to record my tracks as well as access some data apps here and there, which I notice the data usage is usually the one to blame that drains the battery fairly quickly. If a bigger battery could rest assure that would be awesome.
The thing with owning a phone like the magic, is that you don't want to stick to just a few calls and texts, when you have so much more at your disposal. Otherwise I would have stuck with my old Nokia and only charged it once every several days.

Exactly, my Sony Ericsson C902 normaly lasts from mon-fri no problem with texting and calling.
With a phone like the magic you do want to make most out of it, and mine normally gives me a full day of continous use. Originally i only used to get half a day as i hammerd it but a few good tweaks make a MASSIVE difference.
- get a brightness widget and just adjust it as required. i have it at 40%.
- get an over clocking app and underclock it when screen is off or having less use. (root needed)
- get a task killer, apps runing in background can drain it too. Well they seem to. (root needed).
Anyway, whats the update on the new battery Gimpeh mate.

It shipped monday with expedited shipping. Keep in mind it is coming from China. I've been using the donation version of Advance Task Manager forever now. Whats the difference between that and Task Killer? I've looked at the description and it appears the same. I wish one of these could be set to auto kill apps that start up. Throughout the day I'll open up task manager only to see that Foobook and a few others are idling again after killing them earlier in the day. Annoyances!
No real difference really, just that task killer has a widget aswell that shows number of apps running and upon clicking it, it kills everything.
I only went over to tasKiller as the advanced task manager app expired.

Damn! Looks like I'll be getting the 3650 now. Anyone want a 2500?
Hi guys,
this is my first post on this board, so i want greet all first.
Looking on the mugen power site, I've realized that with 2600mAh or 3650mAh extended battery you are force to change the battery covery due the size of the battery, and also your phone will become much ticker, it's right?
While I'm pretty happy with the stock Magic battery, looking on the mugen power site i have seen that 1550mAh extended battery doesn't require a cover battery change, so i would be happy to give it a try and mantain the thin shape of the Magic. Anyone can confirm me that the 1550mAh battery doesn't require a cover battery change?
Last question i'm in Italy and i hasn't been able to uderstand where this company is located on both about us and customer service there is some dummy text ,and there are no information on the contact page. The only information that i have is that domain is registred to an'Hungarian man.
So in few word is this site trustable? anyone here has experiece with this battery? They ship from Europe North America or Asia?
Sorry for all this question, but about a month ago the local national tv reported the case of a woman which changed the battery of his phone whith a chinese one, and the phone/battery exploded in her hands.
Thanks all in advance

Considering that it's not really that much bigger than what we currently have, is it really worth it? Please tell us how they are when you get them!
Personally I'm holding back for something with a bigger capacity atm, provided you two can't prove me wrong in thinking that the above battery isn't big enough to warrant its price
you're not going to get a much bigger battery on the mozart due to the design of its casing that does not allow for 3rd party battery covers, hence the batteries have to be of the same size unlike the extended batterys that were available previously for earlier HTC models.
from what I've heard from people who've used this battery, it gives about 6 hrs extra from heavy usage, which isn't that bad

i'm hoping the additional 500 mAh will provide some benefit. Mugen's batteries have worked well for me in the past, so i'm expecting the same improved battery life. in the US, the T-Mobile G2 battery also works with the Mozart and costs about $35 US dollars. for me it's worth paying $10 more for a battery that provides about 40% more mAh.

If you could please, that would be wonderful ^__^
mine arrived today as well (in the US) and i will test for a few days before giving feedback. to my surprise, mine was 80% charged when i checked on the phone. I checked the % charge using the HTC Battery TestTool from this post.
i'm in the 3rd cycle of charges/discharges(it must make five cycle to have the complete power of the battery) i connect off my phone since 9.am it's now almost 5.pm & the percentage of the battery is near to 70%,very impressive
i take 3-4 call(25-30mn in all),send messages, listen music during one hour with equlizer,my E-mails is synchronized, luminosity to automatic( i put it usually on "low") & go to internet with 3g mode,go to other apps in wifi,...
i will post later when the complete cycle of chargers/dischargers are done
i'm on cycle 1 and my results are not as good: Monday my phone lasted 12 hours (3% power remaining). i had 113 push emails to one account (19 replies via the phone), 15 push emails to another account, 94 minutes of calls, bluetooth on for 8 hours, 40 minutes of call on bluetooth and 27 text msgs. for me this is an above average use day. will use another 2 days before my next follow up.

It should be heavier than the 1230 one. On my goold old Nokia battery I felt a significant difference between a 860 and a 1020 one while holding them both in hand.
Beware, if it's not a genuine HTC battery you may damage your phone
I received my larger battery today. Fits fine. Is there any where on the phone that says it using a larger battery?....I googled the part number and it says its a 1500 battery...but I just want to make sure.

Interesting, if I search for the part number listed on the yahoo website on Amazon, it brings up a stock 1230 battery. Odd.

Same
They can't be the same weight. It's obviously a chinese re-hash or an original 1230 battery. I am 90% sure it's not genuine 1500 but miracles do happen.. Let us know
This is why I started this thread. The minute I opened the box I thought it was the same battery.
Its actually the same part number as the battery that came with the phone.
Just disputed the charge with Paypal.
Received this email just now.
The Manufacturer advertised the battery as a 1500mAH battery, we're
contacting them to see if this was an done in error. There are no other
batteries available for the HD7 and HTC has never made an extended battery
that does not require a separate (larger) battery door.
If you would like, we can send you a return label for the item and a full
refund once the item is received. Or if you would like, we can offer you a
20% discount on the battery.
Please let us know.

it is not same part..almost yes check the last 3 letters , on the hd7 original is 00m and on the knock off is o1m
Sounds like the exact same problem as with the HD2, lots of unofficial "1500 mAh" batteries that turned out to be fake. And isnt it a bit strange that these batteries are already available for such a new device? Best to wait for Seido or Mugen Power or other trusted companies to come out with an extended battery, that way you know you are getting what you are paying for.
I wonder if they will be able to make a larger one without the need of a new back-case.It's a signifficant difference from 1230 to 1500 but it might just work to keep the original case.
I am not a fan of those batteries because you have a high chance of damaging your phone or in extreme rare casses going boom. I know Mugen have managed to build a strong reputation for quality but while on an N900 for example a bigger case might work , on the HD7 it would look just wrong
My 2 cents
is the part number of your orginal battery 35H00123-00m? thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi,
I did a lot of research and found that it is hard to find extended hd2 battery in the market. Then finally i realized that htc service center would be my only option and when i called them this week they said they can arrange it in a week.

I bought one from this particular seller on eBay. It's $32 USD, and I got the advertised 2.5 days of battery life, and that was on Android, with texting, web browsing, watching some video, using Google maps, and playing GTA III for a total of 70 or so minutes .
I have found this, but don't know about performance, thinking of buying this one..

From the looks of it i have the same brand battery as above just not the extended version. It was listed as 1350mah but then when i tested it with a good battery app i downloaded from the market it told me that it was only 1250mah. With that said if you do buy it i would make sure you test it with a good battery app to verify that your getting what is advertised. If you buy off ebay you should feel safe in knowing if you get something that isn't as advertised you can always file a case and get your money back. All things considering the battery works very well and i have no complaints with it at all other then it being listed as a 1350 battery. I bought two batteries and a charger for $8, cant beat that.
Minimum brightness, wifi off, gps off, 3g off, a minimum amount of apps running, and I'm draining 1% a minute while the screen is on.
When I look at what's draining the battery, no significant app shows up.
I've calibrated the battery.
It's been like that for at least 4-5 ROMs I've recently flashed (keep in mind, the phone is 1 month old).
Seeing these crappy performances, I bought a 1800 mah extended battery - still having the same issue.
I'm almost wondering if this issue could be caused by the fact that this phone was bought off ebay? If it's fake or refurbished, could it be causing these kind of problems? It was listed as new
What about airplane mode? If that sorts your issue then perhaps its down to a local cell tower / radio issue.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
Nope, Airplane mode isn't helping at all; in 11 minutes I dropped 9% with screen and wifi on.
What else could I do? Keep in mind, this issue has been there ever since I got my phone; apps do not seem to be a problem.

did you try going back to FULL Stock ???
Such current draw is not normal and if nothing show up in the app list as draining the battery it mean it's overclocked or something is simply SHORT
as for battery calibration, I have never ever calibrated my 2 year old nexus, so not sure why you feel the need to do that...
You mention it was sold as new, but was it new ? usually a new box is sealed somehow... I do not remember how mine was tho...
Hope it helps
It could be your reception man. Normally droids overwork themselves whenever there's not enough coverage on your area. Meaning more battery waste. Or if you're running a stock or sucky Kernel that could be the problem too. Try switching out the kernel for a better one. I had the same issue with my Evo 3d, i had a sucky experimental kernel and my battery was dying fast, as soon as I flashed a new and kickass kernel from tiamat, baby has been giving me good charge for the whole day. Hope that helps man.
HTC Batteries
* Which rom are you running?
* What governor is used ?
* What does the battery information in settings say ? What application is indicated to use more the battery ?
cheers
I'm using the most recent BCM ics rom. The governor is usually set to smartass v2, min freq 245 max 900 something. As I said, this issue was going on with different roms, either AOKP, BCM, MIUI or stock gingerbread. What is using the battery the most? The screen by a large margin (even if it's set to minimum brightness), phone standby and phone idle.
Could you guys suggest a rom that is good for energy management (ex: set minimum freq to 128) and that has a good kernel?
In that case, I fear you may have an hardware problem.
With the last BCM, my N1 still has ~30% battery after a complete day, and reasonnable use (some chat, FB, 1 or 2 phone calls). The battery is the stock 2 years old one.
I use standard BCM kernel with ondemand governor.
You can try to wipe battery info (in the recovery), drain the battery to 10% and replenish it to see if this changes anything.
But I am wondering, is the phone "hot" when the battery is drained this way?
Yep sounds like a defective hardware issue. If still under warranty return to stock ROM and log a call with HTC. Its probably your best option at this stage.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
the phone was bought off ebay, do you still think calling HTC is an option?
I think you should contact them and see what they have to say.
Was it sold as defective on eBay? Did you buy with PayPal.... perhaps also contact the seller and explain the situation. See what they say to a request for a refund. Mention that you'll be sending it off to HTC for analysis otherwise. It just might prompt them to offer a refund if they knew of the defect when selling it.
Best of luck!
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
No, it was sold as new, but I'm off the 14 days return policy that this seller has... so the only way is to threaten them?
Perhaps it might be wiser to contact them and explain the problem and see what they advise.
How old is the phone? Perhaps there's warranty left on it?

While charging the phone Go to About Phone -> Battery -> Battery Status. see where it says Charging (AC) or Charging (USB). It will tell u the originality of the charger. (AC) means original.
Did your phone come from HongKong?
Was the seller "bestpricephones10" or "cellphoneforever"?
They are probably sending repaired phones.
They will give refund. Raise a dispute in eBay.
U can raise an dispute within 40 days from the day of purchase and after 10 days u can ask for refund from eBay.
