2.x stock browser? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have an installable apk for the 2.x stock browser please?

Doubt anyone will have an installable version. Stock browers (as the name implies) are system apps. You will have to push them into your system/app folder using adb or copy using root explorer.

[Q] Is there a flashable apk for Mozilla Fennec?

I cannot push via adb right now due to the lack of an at home PC............ I don't think my ps3 can do it since Sony took the happy out of it with their last few firmware updates.
If you have the apk, why cant you just install it using a file manager? Or, if you want it in /system/app/ you can download estrongs file manager, which has root access then just copy the apk into that directory.

Stock Apps

Could anyone please upload all of the stock apps from /system/apps (.apk and .odex)?
Thanks so much !!!
just download the rom you want the /system/app folder from. and open it and extract that folder.

EDITED:::Nvmd, replaced browser.apk with the ones from system dump, as mentioned in OP, and that resolved my issue of not being able to use the stock browser.

Default Mail.apk for 2.24.401.1

Hi,
I've installed an custom Mail app which supposed to delete the exchange policies but it didn't work. The custom installation kit (via cwm/twrp) removed the original Mail.apk files and the replacement is not working. After reboot I've ended up with no Mail app installed.
Can someone guide me please how to restore my original Mail.apk please ?
Can someone provide me please the files I need to restore the Mail from 2.24.401.1?
Do I need only the original Mail.apk and Mail.odex files?
If I'm copying them in /system/app/ will be enough?
I've tried to restore it from cwm backup using nandroid manager.
It says it restore it successfully but after reboot it didn't install it.
There are no Mail files in systems/app
When I'm trying to launch the Mail app it says so is not installed.
Any idea why is not working?
Remove all existing mail accounts and delete admin rights (if any remaining), then try putting back the file attached in system/app folder. You will need to mount it with read/write access, using a root explorer (as ES explorer for example).
Be careful, if you're using another rom that ARHD 12 (which the attached file is extracted from) you will need to rename it "Mail+nonprime.apk"
Reboot, and check how things go...
Hope this will help

is this modified apk based on the 2.24 framework or older?
Thanks guys but I don't have the ARHD, I have the stock 4.2.2 + root.
I've manged to restore it last night using Cwm, restoring the whole backup. Luckily I had a backup make sure you do a backup first while attempting to try custom things
I still don't understand why the restore only for the Mail app didn't work.
I did not have any mail account or Admin user.
