Hi,
I'm the owner of the samsung galaxy S I9000B. This one comes with android 2.1.
Recently I bought a SD card of 32 GB.
I inserted it and formatted it using the included option in the cellphone.
I did configure the options in the camera application to save directly to the sd card.
Then when I take any photo it is corrupted.
Any suggestion? What could be the problem?

Test to make sure that your camera takes pictures fine when saving to internal SD or another SD card. If they are still corrupt try reflashing ROM. If they are fine, test the SD card in other devices to see for sure if it's bad.
That should tell you whether the phone or SD card is having the problem and how to deal with it from there...
it's not uncommon to have faulty sd cards, the one u installed is probably a lemon

Yeah, for me micro sd's tend to fail even more often than regular sd's
Chances are its kernel mount issue. You'll probably find your pics in lost directory.

I have to reset my phone about 15-20 time a day because my SD card disappears. By itself. All the time.
Can anyone tell me a) WHY this happens and b) HOW to stop it ?
I have a 32 gb external. The phone is relatively untouched (vanilla with Root that's all I've done to it)
But it really bothers me because I have to reset my phone just to take pictures/video's etc. It's always unavailable. Both my internal and external card.
How the hell do I stop it from disappearing ? What is the cause ?
Wow, that seems VERY ODD. eh. Did you format the card using your phone? if not I recommend you do it. settings/sd card and phone settings/unmount external sd card then FORMAT. I know there could be some bugs if you format using a PC. If that does not help then MAYBE you have a fake 32gig card? or worst of all your phone's hardware might be at fault then you will need to return it. Other then that I guess you will need to google "32gig SD samsung galaxy S problem"
Does this happen with stock f/w and without external sd? if yes u probably want to visit the service centre, if not its some problem with your rom / root / 32g card... ? Also, is the ext sd mounted under settings > sd ?
But how are these related to android dev...??
I know this thread will be disappearing to the general forum
I'd try letting the phone reformat the card, throw some files and double check it with the phone. maybe your card's a fake and can't really hold that much, so it craps out? that's all I can think of.
Try another card to see if the issue is the phone or the card.
Also check the contacts on the card and the slot for dirt or bent pins, wipe with a micofiber cloth to remove any fat or other residue.

Dude, what widgets do you have installed?
I know you say it's vanilla, but an app can do this when it refreshes.

I had this happen when I used the "partition SD card" option in ROM Manager. It killed the SD card and made my internal memory unreadable. I formatted the dead sd on my pc and that worked for a bit but then it couldn't read it again. I did a complete data wipe and that seems to have worked for the internal memory. Now I'm using a new sd card. What's weird is that the SD that phone refuses to read, my GF's phone recognizes it...
yesterday i had similar issues. dont know if they are gone.
i couldnt play music - "cant play the codec" error msg - it was the sd card, but only the external.

Hi, Is it a genuine sandisk card? Check it with the H2testw1.4 program.
It could be your problem.

i think so,i bought it from ebay, because you don't find in stores,at least in italy and had the original packaging.
but the other 16 gb sd quietly law, however i'm testing it with the h2
finished,i said it found no errors,?how can i do?
I've bought a fake 32GB card before. It came in real looking packaging, hologram etc. It was impossible to tell that it was a fake until I tested it.
Could you cut and paste the output from H2testw1.4, just to make sure it isn't that?

no that i have deleted yesterday after the test, however on the rom resulting from samsung it works perfectly, instead on the cyanogen makes a lot of noise
Samsung i897- given to me used, Original owner said never used the sd card slot as it never came with one.
I hit flash to stock from the phone menu, it is at O/S version 2.2.
I am trying a sandisk micro sdhc 8 gb.
I put the card in the phone, the external sd was/is greyed out for mount and format.
I tried the disc in my pc and it read as fat, so I reformatted it as fat, and it still does not show in the phone.
I tried putting files on it when connected to the pc, and it worked.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Is this a common problem for this phone? Does the card need to be named something special? I looked in the manual and cannot even find what format the card should be (fat,ext4 etc).
Thanks in advance.

OK so,
Tried Formatting the sd as NTFS? what kernel do you have? what compilation of froyo do you have?
External SD is mounted as vfat.
Can you see the SD card by using a usb adaptor outside of the phone? If not, try another card. If yes, format it there as a fat and try again in phone.

I realized that after taking some photos, the pictures would disappear once I did a reboot of the phone. Also, certain apps installed to the microSD would disappear after some time. I deleted everything using My Files (default file explorer) program. But once, I rebooted, everything is back like the microSD card is in read only mode.
Has anyone experienced a situation like mine and what could be a solution to fix this issue?
Thanks!
Did you try sd card fix on playstore
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Looks like I need root access in order to have the SD card fix.
You most likely have a dead SD card. Try formatting your SD on a computer. I had the same problem on my 64gb SanDisk. The SanDisk SD cards are known to have this problem. You can contact SanDisk and they'll provide you with information on how you can get a free replacement.
Recently in my z3 compact, I enabled my sd card as 64gb memory class 10 primary,
I thought that now everything would work out because I was solving the serious problem of the 16GB of internal memory that I think very little.
But I have a problem, I can not use the camera, it says that it can not access the memory, even alternating between internal memory (which would be the sd card) and the sd card option that is disabled.
I tried to install another apk from the camera, to try to solve this problem, and always says that the install failed.
How do i solve this, as this is what prevents me from using my cellphone in its full functioning.
It is with android 6.0.1 official sony

Try using the SD card in an other phone may be a faulty SD card.
If the SD card is fine, try re-flashing the firmware, there is many guides available.

The card works, and the camera tb, what happens is that I just stopped accessing the camera after I migrated the data to the sd card, making the phone recognize the sd card as the primary memory.
Sorry my english, I'm from Brazil

Then probably that is the reason it says only Internal Storage and not SD card available, because when you use your adoptable storage the SD card starts to act as internal storage.

What makes me curious is that devices like xperia m5 that use the same method, function works,
Something that in my z3 did not happen.
I saw that my camera version is still 1.0.B.1.10
And i saw that they ported the sony android 7 z5 camera
Would it work, try to install this camera via recovery?:
I would like to know if anyone has already tested
Because the m5 I mentioned should have this update
