There's already a buncha threads regarding 1.1 and no need to start another.. it mainly adds developer support and some minor tweaks.

No, it's not 2.2. Supposedly, BN has said that 2.2 will be coming to the NC. Of course, with no open market place.

I just read a blog from the Android and Me widget, that said 2.0 was spotted. Have any of the ROM devs seen or heard anything about 2.0?
http://androidandme.com/2009/10/news/android-about-to-get-a-lot-sweeter/
article is here along with a video from dan morrill of a giant eclair being unboxed at google
I'd imagine if anyone had their hands on anything from 2.0 you'd already know about it
Devs already have the dump for 2.0 from the Sholes...
!!!
w00t
Giant eclair goodies are coming to the 'droid!
Anyone know what Eclair's bringing to the table?
A friend that works for google here where I live.. says its called "Zoom" which is what we know of as Eclair or Android 2.0
He has been using it on his G1 as an everyday ROM.. so with that said we can feel safe that it should work on our G1 nicely.
He won't let me try it out so I can't check it out myself..
From what I understand 2.0 is going to have a different UI and multitouch among other features. Also its good to note that I don't believe the dump we have from the sholes has the full 2.0 just yet. It is coming just not yet.

yeah it seems that the upcoming HTC Dragon is going to be known as the Zoom 2 or something and will be running Android 2.0. as of right now there's not much else known. so if eclair's 2.0, flan would be 3.0 or 2.5 right?

evidence is a good thing to have when your statement contradicts what everyone else is saying.
Eclair is no more Android 2.0 than Donut was Android 2.0.
However, neither is it 1.7.
Android versions are not given version numbers until //AFTER// release, folks!

Can you post a link to where you found this port? Also a link to the kernel your using. Thanks.
im using djdroids froyo desire rom ported to the nexus shipping rom, still trying to figure out everything kernel and radio wise.
Can someone help me with rooting on the 2.2 froyo leak. I have seen cognition but I do not want to do it that way. Is there a one click root option or another option you can show me. Sorry if this is a double post I have looked around alot but I see mostly cognition stuff.
Thank You
There is no one click option.
These are your two options aside from Cog:

Found this online today... this should be straightforward and simple. Have not tested will test tonight when I get home.
Can't post link since I'm a newbee.. type the following in to google search, should be the very first result:
how-to-root-and-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-with-a-single-click/
Hope this helps
That would be the one-click-root... which does not work for 2.2

Honestly the best method as of now is just to do Cog 2.2beta if you want su access.
Hopefully Zilch will stop playing with his "ladies of the evening" so we can make some progress

Is excaliburinhand playing with the kernel yet? It'd be awesome to get the soft key LED notification working again
And for some reason I like voodoo more than one click lagfix but Voodoo hangs when disabling and reverting data from ex4 to rfs When i disabled it to do all my stuff it froze and i lost allllllll my stuff.
P.S Do we know if ROM Manager will be updated to have a new update.zip to support our kernel?

Right now atinm and Unhelpful are playing around with injecting voodoo into the Froyo zImage... they're also trying to get around space limitations to get CWM or 2e recovery support into it- sooooooo keep your eyes peeled, when they finally get it going I'm sure it'll be all over the forums
So then what are you doing Zilch?! You gotta be proactive sir!
I saw that one and am tempted but is the cog stable enough? I could never get the voodoo lagfix to work properly on the last cog 2.6... Must have f'd it up somehow.
Do need a lagfix as its a little laggy but works great so far no complaints.
BTW u two are hilarious...

1.) I had Voodoo beta4 working with my 1.3 reoriented kernel (but it was done by excaliburinhand)
2.) The oneclicklagfix 2.1+ is working for me on Cog 2.2beta. Got a 1900 in quadrant and very good stability.
3.) I think Zilch still has some quotes from when I was drinking...

OCLF will not root the phone That will be done by DG's Cog 2.2beta I did the kernel swapping version with a rooted update.zip file... not nearly as easy as the One Click Odin installer.
Can the "old-tv" screen animation be ported to cm6 ?
It has been tried earlier. It seems to be very difficult.

Thanks for your reply. All in all gingerbread is great but to my personal experience it's not that snappy like froyo. I'm using launcher pro plus as home replacement and in froyo I managed to set it so I wont get redraws when closing the browser or other application that needs a lot of ram.
Note: I disabled JIT
In gingerbread with the same settings of launcher pro I get redraws. I tried with jit disabled, enabled, vmheap 32,40 and it's the same.
Is it something that I'm missing out?
If it werent for this everything would be great about this rom!
Yes. I agree. I do not see much advantage in using GB to Froyo as of now. If only we could port the screen off CRT animation to Froyo, it would have been great. But it seems to be built deep into the framework. Check this link.
I had the problems you mentioned with the CM7 alpha release and IceandFire ROM.
Whereas on Shadowmod and Hobomod , the phone is seriously zippy! The latter being slightly better!

Really. I will try them and report back later No need to wipe anything when moving from CM7 to Shadow or Hobo right?
A full Data/factory reset is advised at least thats what i did.
I did 2 Wipes from the stock recovery and then 3 wipes from Androiddiani OR 3.3.

I would reccomend wiping before moving to either rom (just to be safe), though you won't need a wipe for moving between my mod and shadow and vice versa.
Also, if you can wait about 7 hours, I should have a new version of hobomod up

It seems that the guys dont work anymore on putting the CRT animation into FROYO. I mean it would be great but it's pretty difficult to do it because it's very well coded inside the framework, something like that.
Froyo? Wait a minute... Oh, yes Froyo! You mean that ancient Android version that will not receive any more fixes and enhancements... Hmm, Froyo. OK, enjoy it.

Come on, Gingerbread is nowhere near perfect yet on Milestone
As for animations, everyone who attempted it indeed failed, its probably possible but hard.

It may be worth pointing out that this is incompatible with Gingerbread so won't run on a Nexus S without ICS.
