Ok, i did every single tutorial how to enchant my phone battery life...but no help..
After i installed Darkys 9.0.2 ROM with Voodoo kernel my battery is practically dead... it goes 8% in 1 hour and i can max use my phone for 10 hours, with turned off wifi, 3g, auto rotation, bluetooth, gps etc.
Will battery be better if i flash stock 2.1, 2.2 or 2.2.1 on my phone? Because i cant live anymore with this draining.... :/
EIDT: And tihis morning my battery was on 19%, but 7 hours before it was 72%, with turned on wifi and auto rotation....
Try to flash the JPA wifi fix, but i dont know if it will help u so much.
or try to flash drifrent modems and see if it will help u in battery life.
I prefer Doc's Rom, and the battery life is very good =)
Good luck

Try to flash a stock/official ROM and dont install any other extra's yet and no 3G data try to see if you still see that kind if battery drain compared to having custom ROM's usually these battery issues are user caused.

I cooked my own rom (Docs Kitchen)
ROM: XWJS3 v9.1.4
CSC: JP9
Kernel: Speedmod
Modem: JPX
And in this 20 minutes its all going ok, ill be using this for one day, recalibrate the battery and if this rom does not work i will flash stock rom
Try ZSPJE Modem, i have very good battery life with this modem.
I have the wifi on over the night, 7-8h I lose 2-4%.
Use Power Tutor to track what is causing the drain. Note: Power Tutor uses the battery up quite a bit so don't use it after you determine the problem(s). One of the biggest battery drains is running the screen brightness on max. It is a good idea keep below 80% brightness. It displays in mW (miliWatts). Your battery is 5.55 W so if you are averaging 555 mW that is 10 hours of battery life or 10% per hour.
Good Luck!

Ok... Average is 786mW
The screen uses the most... :/ i think thats alot
EDIT: i changed screen brightness and now is average use smaller
i have the same problem as You. No rom and no modificiation can help my battery drain... My battery life circle about 10 hours, with no wifi, no hsdpa only 3g, no gps, minimum light... i will try instal power tutor and see what's going on.
EDIT: ok, its seems the same.. average power: 580mW, where the AMOLED takes about 500mW, light on minimum..

sorry for my english..
Have you all done the battery calibration from 100% to 0%?
Tried looking at battery history from spare parts to see what is causing the drain?

No, not normal. I get home with like 55-60% battery left with
12 hours standby
1-1.5 hours calls
1-1.5 hours with activities that keep screen on like texting, mails, etc
i am on the ROM in my signature.
ok is there anyway to get reduce the battery drain without changing roms if not whats the best rom for battery life??

Try using a kernel that supports UV and setting slightly reduced voltages. I am using GB's 1280 kernel, and capped the speed at 1000. And reduced the voltages slightly.
Others would be normal things like switching to EDGE, lowering brightness levels, setting wifi to "turn off when screen off", etc.
what does UV mean sorry im a newb :/ and how do u install a different kernel

UV = Under volting
1. Load the kernel in my signature (attached to this post)
2. Install the voltage control app (attached to this post)
3. Start the voltage app and set the voltages and cap at the levels based on the pic in this thread.
WARNING: Voltage levels depend on phone to phone. I would suggest starting from low values. Take off 50 from the values I have posted in the pic and use them. If u feel it is ok, then add another 25. Take it slowly checking if the reduced voltages are freezing up ur phone.
I would recommend u starting with these values: 75 75 50 25 25 0 from bottom to top.
Ok thanks diablo I will test this out tomorrow and report back

Sounds like a good old battery recalibrate is in order:
1. Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until it shows 100%
2. Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.
3. Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the battery indicator shows 100% (you can use vol-up/vol-down to make the indicator come back up when the screen goes to sleep).
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the battery indicator shows 100%.
6. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it.
I did this a couple days ago, plus wiped stats, and as of right now, I am showing 20% after 30 hours. No joke.
Running Cognition 3.04,

Try searching google / this forum for a post of resetting battery stats, i need to do that also since my battery life isnt all that good either, especially how im running 3.04 cog and everyone says batt. life is amazing. SO if anyone can link to battery reset post that would be amazing.

Ironically, JuiceDefender killed my phone *much* faster than with me manually enabling and disabling my data connection.
IMO, JuiceDefender does nothing that you can't do yourself, the problem is, is that it constantly has to check apps to see if any are enabled to toggle your data connection.
I am just saying

I actually use my phone and I am getting these results
I have a very similar question. My problem is, on custom roms (I've tried Assonance, Serendipity, and another), my battery drains 1%/hour. This is even after a fresh install; nothing is running in the background. When I look into my battery info, it says wifi is doing the draining. I keep hearing people saying their battery life is amazing after flashing custom roms, but I'm getting the complete opposite. Am I forgetting something?
Without custom roms or anything, and using a rooted/lag-fixed (not sure this makes any diff anyway) setup, I lose somewhere between 2-3% battery per hour on standby. I don't even use juicedefender. I really love what they're doing with these custom roms, but the wifi on standby just rapes my battery.

First of all , I really like the work onecosmic has been doing , keep up the good work !
I am currently using the RC2.1 build combined with fugo kernel . so far epic . I'd really want to use this rom on daily basis but the problem is that i get horrible battery life. at first I reflashed everything (including all wipe needed in the order specified) but that didn't help . I am currently on my 4th or 5h cycle of calibration but it gets worse every time .

What can i do to improved it ? I tried to avoid widgets , reflashing and wiping , other kernels that seem to mess up my rom and get the home button not to work (nushors) ...

Check in battery settings what is using your battery so much.. if anything other than Android OS (could be till 30-40%) is consuming your battery.. take action regarding that..
if this doesn't work, then clear your battery stats through recovery and calibrate for another 3-4 full charge/discharge cycles.. should solve your problem
Tried everything . battery still sucks
I think it's the HSPA/WCDMA network type. I use GSM only and I get 1day +.
You forgot to post most importat thing, how long display was on. From screens I can see it was on alot.
If it had 3-4 hours, it's probably okay since you had data enabled aswell.

@chriss23: how is your battery expierence with build 13?
i am on the second battery cycle with onecosmics mod. normal use of the phone and 63% left after 32hours. its ok but when i use some apps the battery drains one percent on only a few minutes. iam unsure if this is normal. usage of android os in battery stats says 26%.. in gingerbread, this was too much but would you say its normal on ics?
thank
Hello all. I had also battery issues with the new roms of ICS. I exclude usage of data which one way or another makes things worse. I believe that issues will be fixed soon since the difference between the first versions of roms and the newest ones is significant. Freezing also some unneeded background processes always help (i use titanium for this). Playing among different kernels and undervoltaging can also help.
Hello,
Recently I noticed that my battery is drained faster than usual, even when I put it untouched overnight, it drains about 30% of battery
First, I thought, that it was kernel (I flashed Hydracore v1.1std), but when I came back to kernel, which I used (Notecore 14.1 std) battery drain still was present.
I discharged battery and charged with AC charger when phone was off, lifetime was increased little bit, but nothing important.
I checked in task manager (es task manager) and there is no unusual tasks or autorun entries...
I cleared cache and dalvik cache from CWM
I checked also cpuspy and my phone does go to deepsleep
also in battery statistics, most battery consumption is as usual order (screen consumes more than 50%) but, drain rate is increased greatly when screen is on (for example when I am using navigation) in comparison as it was before.
I bought phone 3 month ago, so battery itself should be fin
Today I also noticed that screen is not locking after specified time...and I can not figure out which application is preventing it...
currently I am on Hydracorev2.b std kernel and XXLRK stock firmware
First of all notecore is a performance based rom and second did u wiped battery stats wen u charged ur phn completely in switch off mode???

install betterbatterystats and put your phone in airplane mode for a day. Check the BBS after and see any kind of apps or wakelocks that might be causing your battery drain issue.
also,it might be noteworthy to tell you this but your kernel is not optimized for battery life and is instead more on performance (which equates to higher CPU speed consumption and which in turns, drains much battery juice after).
Switch to a more battery saving kernel like SpeedMod... it is developed and mainly optimized to get more juice out of your phone.
Thanks gays for helpful advices
I know, that notecore is good for performance and speedmod for battery life, but as I mentioned battery drain was higher as usual (I am on notecore kernel from v3)
If I wipe battery stats will it help?
I will try betterbatterystats and write results
It will help wipe battery stats

I was running Hydra v1 on LiquidSmooth V2 (beta2) N7000 and using the Beast Kernel. Dropped about 1% per minute while using phone and also about 30% over night.
I then flashed the HydraCore v1 which made a major improvement in performance and battery drain. I loaded HydraCore v2.1 (beta) today and the battery was already a bit better, but I then noticed that the default setting for Latitude was to automatically share my location. I disabled that and so far the battery drain has been less. Will be checking if this caused my issue.

I think this is normal?
I switched to speedmod K3-13
and now, I have deeplsleep issue, and according BBT, this is kernel wakelock multipdp, which drained 97% of my battery (about45% in 7 hours)
I think I found problem:
It's Google Maps Location update service
Code:
com.google.android.location
I found in BetterBatteryStats Alarms over 450 wakeups in 7 hours and almost no deepsleap
But I completely disabled location updates (do not update setting) in Google Maps settings....
any ideas?
Do you have some other apps that connect to the internet as well? facebook, flipboard, instant messaging apps,Accuweather /Clock Widgets... etc... ? You need to individually note all the apps you have on your phone... and one by one check if one or two have some background syncs enabled, turn them off or set it to never.

Thanks for advice,
Yes, I have all af them :| I have disabled location now in all related (FB, Accuweather)
When data connection is on (as it was previous) it consumes a lot of battery power because there is a lot of wakeups and phone is not going in deepsleep (even when in most of applications, sync time is 1 hour (except mail clients)
Now, I have disabled data and after 40 minutes of idle time, battery is still at 100% and most of the time in deepsleep
I will check at morning battery stats and drain level,
If it is OK, I will turn data on and will observe power consumption
But, as I mentioned week age, everything was fine with turned on location services and data
I guess best option would be to flash the rom, but I want to find out what causes problem to avoid it further

you can give it a shot first to observe for a couple of days to let it settle down everything.
And in case you don't know.. your apps are constantly being updated by Google itself. (when you turn data on and access Google Play for example). Some updates on some apps might have triggered this issue. Flashing Roms are just one side to the story. The other side is one big grey matter.

See? , sometimes it's good to weed things out. The method of elimination usually does the trick. It's at the bottom of my signature as well... :highfive:
Anyone else experiencing worse battery life going to official JB? My official ICS battery was much better. Much. I even did a hard/factory reset after I updated. Ive even disabled a lot of the "new" features like google now and multi view. Anyone have any tips? I used to last til 15% by 10pm on a single charge now im at 15% by 530pm... ugh. Any way to easily go back to Official 4.0.4 Germany?
When I check my Battery stats it looks like the screen is using everything. Im keeping it on the same settings I had on ICS. No auto and about 45% brightness standard.
I have the same feeling about the german jb official rom.
Screen is taking up almost all the battery. Any ideas to improve battery life? I usually do the recommended tasks such as no background process, low bright screen, few widgets and so on.

My wife's Note on LSO has been having terrible battery since the update. The drain is massive.
Too bad, she really likes the multi-view, but as-is, it's impossible to keep this ROM.
I have same situation- display uses more then any other rom in past...
What rom is best in bartery life- no matter GB, ICS or JB, probably custom with custom kernel. it is not important for me as batery life?
thanks
My phone idles alot and on lsa i noticed it loosing alot of charge just idleing
so much so i rolled back to 4.0.4
the final german release is just as good in my case for long idle times as it was on 4.0.4
cant say on long term screen use

do try enable power saving...it limit your cpu max 1ghz only, thus could save a bit

Whats the best way to rollback to 4.0.4? Thx
install CPU spy betterbatterystats and check for wakelocks.
I was getting 8 days of use out of LSA (I keep everything off GPS/WiFi/3G Data)
With LSZ I am getting around 5 days of use ... with the exact same usage ...
My CPU is almost always in Deep Sleep so I am starting to suspect the new baseband LSO (modem.bin)
P.S. Stock LSZ with PhilZ 4.63 Kernel+CWM ...
I had same thing so I simply did the following :
Enabled power saving then forced stopped every app which showed up in running services which was not needed and battery back to nomal now.
I found that maps and voice talk kept my device awake a bit so if you don't really use them daily then simply disable.
I seem to remember it was the same with stock ICS when first released then it got better so fingers crossed.
Guys why don't you follow ahalford's thread about battery life / wake locks? You'll find a link in my signature.

Notice how after the huge drop the battery actually goes UP!!!
I have installed GSAM Battery and Juice Defender and couldn't pinpoint the problem. I am going to try another factory reset and reinstall everything from scratch.
You have a lot of wake locks and apps.. These battery saver apps really don't help that much. Use betterbatterystats to find out what those are and check the wake lock thread in q&a sticky .
Galaxy Note GT N 7000
Try the Ultimate Jelly Bean ROM....it should answer your questions on battery drain. Check the forum for Ultimate Jelly Bean ROM
that's a problem of Germany JB, battery short life and can't use airview
Try LSF Trinidad and Tobago rom or Jonrom which is based on it. It has better battery life for me than german LSZ. Airview fix also working.
Hi!
I'm experiencing some battery draining problems for a few months.
Overnight it uses up to about 15% and during the day with about 1h30min SOT it's down like 30%. I factory reset it, debloated it, dark mode on, Naptime with aggressive doze mode on and restricted almost all apps from running in the background with no difference.
I'm running on 12.5.4 global. Sometimes cell standby uses as much as 500 mAh.
When the battery is full it says "about 52 h 34 m left" no matter if I'm using fast or slow charging. Is this normal? I'm attaching some screen shots.

No. Unfortunately this seems to be the worst phone I have gotten so far and it's one of the expensive ones I bought. I also have problems with it not updating even though I did factory reset and tried to use select update package.

I have flashed the latest Lineage OS a week ago and the battery life is very good! The best of all MIUI or AOSP ROMs I have flashed to the moment!
At night the phone is in sleeping mode and the battery at morning is almost the same as it was at the evening, with WiFi, Bluethoot and Location switched ON - I haven't really tested how much exactly percents it tekes during the night, but I think that it's not more than 2-3% for the night.

indeed sleeping mode in custom roms is magic, but if you forget to activate it.. well good luck waking up to your alarm

Below are some stats from the latest Lineage OS
3% for almost 8 hours
I didn't get any problems with the Alarm and the deep sleep mode!
Overnight drain is too high. It's 10% even after enabling scheduled power off/on feature. Phone remains powered off for 4-5hrs at night still 10% of overnight drain is too much
2% here for more than 8 hours
That's aosp bruh. I should switch soon.
