Hi
My Samasung i900 is not turning on after updating to Froyo.
I am trying everything to put it into Recovery mode but doesnt work.
Have I done the demage?

Download mode work? If so use odin to flash to a stock rom.
Vol up,home, power all at the same time.

Block 2 Odin method to Eclair first then Froyo .
jje

It can take up to 5 minutes to get over that swirling S after a successful update. Did you wait at all?

Yes, the first boot could take a long time... 5min ist fast, if you have many apps installed. When i first upgraded to Froyo with about 150 apps on it it took about 10 minutes for the first start!

[Q] HELP!! Tried flashing dozens of times but no luck just stays on galaxy s screen

can someone help me please...
i have tried flashing my phone countless number of times with odin, using pit.512/513/803 with a number of different firmwares, also select and unselecting the partition/reboot and reset time, but still no luck
it says passed and completed but when rebooting it either stays on the galaxy s gti9000 screen and blinks every 5-10 secs or it comes up with the circle loading thing witch stays forever..
also tried with the 3 files flashing code, modem and csc files but same problem..
am i doing something wrong?
i have no idea what to do now but to send it back to samsung again
Is it stock firmware you're trying with?
this is all the firmwares i have tried flashing with
I9000XWJM8
I9000XXJM4
I9000BVJJPD
I9000DTJG4
I9000DTJP5
I9000UGJL2
I9000XXJPC
I9000OXAJPC
I9000XXJPM
what i cant believe is that ive tried all of them and it does finish flashing but when i turn it on it just stays on the galaxy s screen blinking on and off. the same scenario cant get into recovery but i can get in download mode again...
really lost :S
Hello. Wipe all types of cache before flashing - inclufing dalvik
And format your sdcard.
I hope, it can help

thanks mate, but i followed the steps exactly on that post but still nothing!! it passes with odin but when rebooting it just stays on the galaxy s gti9000 screen :S
lol i seriously dno whats wrong with it
Hate to break it to you but sounds like you're phone is dead.
Can you get into recovery mode? With the phone off press vol up + home + power.
The screen isn't blinking, its trying to load an OS, then failing to load it (probably due to dead internal SD) then rebooting and showing that screen again. I just had to send mine in for repair for the same reason.
yea only download mode, recovery mode not working.
i have sent it back to samsung for repairs.

[Q] Galaxy S has a REAL Black Screen and doesn't boot up

Hi, i'm French, sorry for my bad English. OK, I have a GT9000 and a Captivate.Yesterday, I flash the phones (Download mode and Odin)since September so I was stuck many times but this time I need YOUR help. I flashed the GT9000 with a new rom, but it was unstable so I flashed it again with a stuck Rom... But the Captivate stock Rom!!! The phone didn't pass the AT&T animation and rebooted in loop. Try to go in download mode with the Captivate and GT9000 way. Nothing happen. And after 2 hours, the screen stay off, nothing happen. Stay in charge all the night, the top of cellphone was hot. I try to keep the download button pressed and put the battery, with cable connect on the PC and without(removed the battery 30 minutes between all tries). Tried the air-gun. Ordered the kit on Sparken but if the screen stay black...The Captivate is fine...
The captivate rom changes the buttons order on galaxy s , so you need a jig to force into download mode .

I hope it will work because like I said the screen didn't switch on now. I'll be back in France next week to try this method.
did you ever fix this?
Did you try the POT android tools by opda team to put the phone in Download Mode?

[Q] Boot Loop, out of nowhere.

Hi,
I've been using SGS I9000 with CM9 stable, for two months now.
I've had minor problems with it, but yesterday I ran out of battery and once I charged it fully and tried to start it, my phone got stuck in a boot loop.
Samsung galaxy S I9000 screen comes for about 5-6 seconds, and goes away for one second and comes back, after 20 seconds, the whole thing repeats.
When plugged in, the loading animation - before the battery animation shows up - but does not animate. Also goes black, and comes back again in a loopy manner.
I can start it into download mode, but not recovery mode.
Since I can do this I realised trying fixing this by going back to my stock rom flashing it using Odin.
But odin does not see my mobile, I tried installing drivers but it doesnt work.
Please help me. How do I install appropriate drivers without me needing to boot the phone? If only Odin sees the phone, I'm comfortable with flashing it.
Thanks.
Make sure you kill kies with ctrl alt and delete before running odin! I am also having problems with cm9 and bootloops mainly on the blue cm bootscreen just endless loading, im rapidly coming to the conclusion cm9 is crap ! how it can be classed as stable is beyond me, if thats stable i would hate to see what unstable is , everyone is moaning about the bootloops and IMHO cm9 is best avoided !
Hi, same happened to me. I had to flash first the 2.3.7 stock and after CM9.1 - with Odin
Sorry but I cannot insert here link with full step by step instructions (XDA rules for new users don't allow me) I send you a message with it
After that my Galaxy rocks! Never went so fast and fluent as now
Hope it helps

[Q] Bricked need help

So I just found my Galaxy S GT-19000 (after moving a while ago i lost it) but when i tried to turn it on it just gets stuck at the splash screen saying Galaxy S etc, Ive tried the 3 button combi to get into recovery mode but nothing seems to work . Im not sure what ROM is on it but it is rooted from when i last used it. Ive tried searching but had no luck
It wont enter Bootloader or Recovery mode using the 3 button combi, it just goes to the Galaxy S screen and boot-loops.
Is there anyway to restore/recover my phone? Im running Xubuntu 12.04 incase I need to run a program to recover it.
Follow the help link on my signature, should help.

Are you sure you are not just holding the buttons down for too long? You have to let go of all of the buttons a few seconds (two is enough usually) after the screen comes on.
Tried the link but cant get it into Recovery mode so it doesnt help I also tried releasing the buttons sooner but made no differnce still stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S screen
have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30415128
