[REQUEST] Browser Text reflow and home button to unlock - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Was wondering if it was possible to get automatic text reflow whenever we pinch to zoom on the browser and not just by double tapping? Similar to the browser that HTC is using.
Also wondering if there is a modification that allows you to unlock the lockscreen by pressing the home screen button. It would make a lot of things easier because the samsung lockscreen can be a pain to use.
Thanks!

Stopping the on-screen keyboard popping up?

i have a touch pro (sorry if this doesn't belong here, but i assumed that they were basically the same) and whenever i go anywhere that has text input, the on-screen keyboard pops up and fills most of the screen, even when I have the inbuilt keyboard popped out.
Is there any way I can get it to stay hidden until I press the show/hide button?
There's a setting in Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool that fixes this.
Unfortunately it doesn't work in Opera due to Opera's bad handling of the keyboard. If you have problems with the SIP popping up in opera in landscape, install nullkb and look for an application that allows you to set different SIPs in portrait and landscape.
Cheers for the quick reply, I'll give these a go.

[Q] Launcher Pro shortcut help!

Hi guys, first post! Loving the forum by the way, very helpful. I'm not sure if this is the right board to post it on but I need help with the Launcher Pro shortcut editor / creator. Basically all I want to do is to create a dock shortcut that toggles wifi, and maybe one for mobile data so that it is available easily on any of my homescreens. Is this possible? I don't really understand the editor but it would seem possible is anyone knew the intent etc for this action?
Looking forward to any suggestions!
Mark
Anyone at all?
no idea how to do it - but there are plenty of other apps that will do that for you
Possible - Try Tasker
Don't think this would be possible as the dock can only hold shortcuts, not widgets.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Why don't you use the default power widget?
But Tasker allows shortcuts - Task
you can use quickdesk. its pretty much a second home on top of the existing main home your using like launcherpro. you just double tap home button and brings up an overlay of anything you want to put on there for shortcuts or widgets. pretty handy and accessible while doing anything like being on the phone. just double tap home and there ya go. i know its not what your wanting by the post. but it does do pretty good.
Thanks for the replys guys, most helpful! Yeah not as keen on a widget, wanted it on the dock so it's there which ever screen I'm in and doesn't take up any extra real estate on screen. I'll give that quick desk a blast though
I just installed this rom, but I am facing some issues:
1. At startup Launcher pro is fails to launch, I need to force close it all the time.
2. When I open & close an app from app drawer, phone doesn't returns to it's app drawer screen, instead it goes tohome screen.
3. I tried the camera.apk , but it doesn't zoom, even after setting volume keys to do that operation.
4. Contacts looks very messed up & mms.apk don't have option to select the contacts, they only appears when i start typing letters.
Please tell me how make the whole appearance more easy & functional. Thanks

[Q] Any other keyboard ?

Hello, I was wondering this thing: while I am browsing the web with the stock browser in landscape mode, when I press on a textbox, like Google search, the keyboard appears on screen. The thing is, the keyboard takes the whole screen, with a big Textbox above it and the browser is not visible anymore. I'd like to know if there is another keyboard which could take only half of screen and still see the browser window on the other half ?
I dont have this issue.... I use Gingerbread keyboard - available in market free
Hi, try betterkeyboard from the market it's free.
I use hackerskeyboard its great
Smart Keyboard Pro is awesome!

[Q] Better navigating the Note

So I have had a note for a while now and although it's screen enables us to have a lot more web and video, navigating is still a bit of of pain for me. I mean yeah I can hold the note in one had, but when I what to use the back button or the menu button I need to use my second hand and that's a bit inconvinent.
So that's why I thought, is it not usefull to have a os wide quick controls like the one implemented in ics browser +, but then only with the menu, home and back button at the inner circle instead.
What do you guys think and is it possible to somehow implement this to be os wide?
Two very handy apps for the Note:
Button Saviour
Swipepad
These two should help you navigate a lot better, Now I use Swipepad with the morespace add on in conjunction with Folder Organizer, I have reduced most of my folders and app shortcuts on my homescreen.
Hope you find them as useful as I have!

[Q] Change wallapaper on homescreen and lock screen simultaneously

Stupid question, I have been forced to use a lockscreen on my Z3C for security purposes, however i would like when i change my wallpaper for my homescreen and lockscreen to change simultaneously.
I know on iOS devices, when you apply a wallpaper you get the option for home, lockscreen or both.
Is there a way of doing this on the Z3C that im just not seeing or did sony/android just omit this feature entirely?
Settings-personalization--wallpaper for home screen.
Settings-personalization--lock screen for lock screen.
or
from a picture you hit the 3 dots on up right corner and use as.
the option like iOS i think there isn't,you just have to make the same thing twice
thanks punkyd but i know those methods, i just wanted a method to do both at once.
This has been bugging me as well
