[APP][31jan] Status Bar Settings 1.0 [HTC Sense Skin Style] - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

Hi again...
I "modified" this application for my personal use with the intention of integrating the sense interface style.
System settings in the status bar. Works like the power control widget, but in the system status bar. If you have been looking for a way to control the settings with buttons in the status bar, this is it! Similar to the settings buttons on Samsung phones.
Currently, the app shuts itself down when closed. If you have a task killer, please ignore this app or it will be closed. If you press a button and the interface disappears, it was probably killed in the background and didn't clear the status bar interface yet. It is possible that if the app is removed from memory due to a low memory state, the app will close itself, but I have not been able to test this yet.
Features:
-Wifi toggle
-Bluetooth toggle
-Mobile data toggle
-GPS toggle
-Ringer mode toggle
-Screen brightness/auto screen brightness toggle
-In the status bar
-Access settings without exiting your apps
-2 themes (theme light no work)
-Option to run when phone starts
Enjoy...
NOTE: This application is free and can be downloaded from the market, the changes that I make are not with any purpose of profit ... I do not need
MOD EDIT: To post modified apps here at XDA, you must:
1) Give the title of the original app
2) Give credit to the original dev
3) Have permission from the dev to post edits of their work

Well-done. Excellent application.
Thanks for your hard work.
I like it. It's working great on DL Desire Z.

What is the original app called?

Great application, just what I needed, thank you very much. Can you add options (in settings menu) not to close the status bar after user input and to hide the icon? I also think that this would look better with the bigger buttons without text...

no data button?
i have a blank space where the data button should be
i was using sys info wig but i uninstalled and reinstalled this app but still no workie....ha
well lemm know what i can do bc the rom that im using ( open desire RAM )
force closes most wigets that are activated and i cant use it.

Where's the original? I've never seen this app before?

I believe it's the Status Bar Settings app developed by Karson. You can find it in the Market.. with the same description.

[Q] How to disable the lockscreen

For someone with no security concerns, it is pretty safe to disable the lockscreen without any risk of but dialing.
From what I searched in the forums, this can be done in two ways:
1 - Phone -> *#*#7594#*#* -> Check shutdown, which works perfectly, easily reversible, no coding, but has the undesirable side effect of also disabling the extended power menu.
2 - Some tools like NoLock that you can easily find in the market, however you get another icon in the notification bar, and sometimes the lockscreen still shows up.
I was wondering if there is a way to disable the lockscreen without these weird sideeffects, either with a modified framework (like $omator's way to change the icons), or with a script.
Thank you in advance
I am using Simplicity's ROM, based on STOCK, so I don't have that option from CM7
This may very well sound silly, and maybe its because im using CM7.1 but there is a setting in location and security... no lockscreen
Is it there for you? or does that not work?
NoLock's widget doesn't have any notification space used or wasted, and it works 99% if the time for me... *shrugs*

DELETE Nav bar, No softkeys, WHOLE screen.. goodness!!

SO I often find that on these forums peoples good work needs to be brought together in a nice little package. I have done ZERO developing, but a few good blokes have done some framework edits, and a few apps made, and now here we have it...
NO MORE SOFTKEYS, ENTIRE SCREEN USAGE, and some amazing alternatives to the softkeys
*** requires root ****
Tutorial:
1. Find an alternative you like (MUST DO THIS FIRST OR COULD BE STUCK WITHOUT ANY BUTTONS!!!!):
-I personally use "GMD gesture control", its wonderful, youtube it. They also have a lite version you can try. For full version it costs 5$ but its wondeful. four finger pinch is home, 3 finger swype down is back, and you can add custom geatures. Highly reccomended
-button savior, this and the other 2 to follow are more traditional hide nav, bring nav back. I havn't used them but they have good reviews
-gesture LMT
-gesture+pie LMT
2. I'm aware this is from samsung nexus forum, but me and many others can confirm it works the same for the nexus 7. Download the apk that pushes the modified framework. even the app warns you to have a secondary means of "buttons" before you continue. But simply instal app, open app, and click the uninstall nav bar. THEN... reboot and your set
-download the link "FullScreenToggleV2.apk -Support4.1 XDA link"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558
I'd just make a backup of the rom and revert back to that if you don't link. But me likey, me likey so much Thanks for all the great work boys
By 'DELETE Nav bar' do you mean the Notification bar or are you calling the softkey area the Nav bar? With a custom launcher, such as Nova, you can hide the notification bar. Interesting idea, but I think I want the softkeys.
Edit: I see that the area is commonly called the navigation bar. There is another good thread on this topic in this forum which just calls for a build.prop edit if you are rooted.

[MOD][JB][T]Stock ROM upgrade all-in-one from peetr_

Content:
18 notification toggles from lidroid
Shutdown menu with navigation bar switch on/off
Transparent navigation bar
Transparent statusbar
Transparent lockscreen (with landscape layout)
Installation:
Deodexed rom is needed.
Make ROM backup first.
Install from recovery.
Bugs:
Switching nav.bar quickly on/off, returns your wallpaper to the default one. Live wallpaper is not affected.
Don´t switch navigation bar, when you are in camera. Camera cannot handle starting of .SystemUI service. (if you are in camera without buttons, go to album first and switch the nav. bar back there)
Expanded statusbar ends above the navigation bar, even if it´s switched off.
PhotoEditor buttons under nav. bar.
Don´t know...
Instructions:
Shutdown menu with notification toggle is invoked by pressing hw power button and tapping shutdown
To allow navigation bar to switch, you must allow superuser access
Notification toggles have settings in your app drawer named SystemUI settings (all buttons can be turned off)
When the nav. bar is annoying somewhere, switch it off.
Wipe lockscreen data in app settings.
For enabling Home rotation, add "home.land.on=true" in your build.prop

I am not reponsible for anything bad that happens to you or your device, by flashing these modifications.

Is your rom deodexed?
Good one. No it isn't. Maybe I'll do that some other time. For now god luck with your mod
And I'm not sure but don't mods like this belong in themes and apps section?

Well, actually it's not app, it's not theme, and I developed the mod (even if it's dirty). So I think it belongs here.
Hello very good job man
Great MOD
It is possible to made the same MOD with:
1 focus press for enabling
2 focus press for disabling
I don't try already your MOD... but I think if I long press in standby mode for fast capture it will disable the nav bar, right???
Thanks again
Edit: can you share an other link, because it temporarily disable
Of course, the count of presses could be reduced, but it's not a good idea. Still the main idea is well running phone without unwanted actions.
I'll wait until tomorrow and if the link won't be back online, I will reupload.
Edit: Link is back online.

Well done peetr
But How can this be done on the v, it doesn't have a focus key :banghead:
It can be done with proximity sensor, but I am not sure about impact on battery in this case. I will try to test it.
Doesnt seem to be working on hackits rom...

Well, try to look in /dev/.keycheck file, if any content is in there, after pressing focus button. If not, there is probably something important missing in the rom.
Maybe init.d is not supported.
I suppose, you flashed this mod in recovery.
You can try to run the script in terminal and watch for some error - "/system/bin/mksh /system/bin/navbar.sh"

Btw. it works fine with proximity sensor, but it's annoying. Navbar is turning on/off unexpectedly.

If it's still useful? Ok.
But probably not this weekend.
Still working on notification toggles.

Modify Status Bar Without Root

Hi guys I found this cool app on the Google play store by James Fenn it allows you to modify the status bar without root it might not work flawlessly but it does this is job this does not work in the lockscreen and live/scrolling wallpaper screenshots below
FEATURES
Center Clock option
Carrier Name
Battery Percentage display
Headphone Indicator
Minimal battery usage I tested it
Material design works in most application
Custom color adjustment for applications
Quote from James Fenn Below
"The actual status bar is only hidden under the replacement; touch gestures are not overridden, and the standard notification panel is still shown. It needs a lot of permissions in order to obtain the information needed to display in the status bar."
Permissions:
- Accessibility Service: used to attempt to get the status bar color of the current app if the 'status bar coloring' preference is enabled.
- Notification Access: used to get the icons of the current notifications.
- System Alert Window, System Overlay Window: used to draw the status bar above all other apps.
- Battery Stats: used to find if the battery is charging and what percent it is at.
- Network State, Phone State: gets the type and connection of the phone network, and if airplane mode is enabled.
- Wifi State: finds if wifi is enabled and how good the connection is.
- Bluetooth: find if bluetooth is enabled & connected or not.
- Location Services: finds if GPS is enabled.
- Alarm: find if an alarm is set.
This app is and will remain ad-free and with no "pay to unlock this feature" popups. All I ask is that you provide some feedback about what I can do to improve your experience with this app.
Current Issues
Heads-up notifications dismiss keyboard
Yep.
Resize LinearLayouts for multiple icons
Since the LinearLayouts currently only take up half of the status bar (or half the status bar minus half the width of the center layout, if there are any centered icons), it is possible for them to run out of space and get cut off on small screens. A warning for this would probably be a good idea...
Backup SharedPreferences to file
Does what it says. It would be a pretty useful option, but a bit impractical where updates are concerned.
Data and signal icons are shown incorrectly
They usually (I've had a few occurrences where they do actually work properly) refuse to disappear when airplane mode is enabled or when wifi is turned off. No clue why.
Needs support for dual sim phones
I've created an IconData class for it [here](https://github.com/TheAndroidMaster...s/status/data/icon/DualNetworkIconData.java), but it doesn't seem to be working properly.
Notifications don't dismiss properly below android 4.3
Notification listener api isn't available, listens for notifications through the AccessibilityService but cannot detect when they are dismissed - temporary solution: remove all icons when the notification panel is opened.

yep i contacted the dev about that hopefully he finds a way to implement it
Some issues I have experienced:
- the bar displays the homescreen wallpaper on some apps. On main apps like Settings, Phone, Messenger etc. the app colour displays properly but on many third party apps the background colour is messed up
- does not work on the lock screen
I have uninstalled it for now

Disable network traffic indicators

They're kind of distracting, and imo useless. Any way to get rid of them?
Wouldn't be too bad if there was a dedicated space in the status bar for them, but when they come and go, icons to the left bounce around.

Yes I find them to be very distracting as well. I did a quick search to look on how to disable them but came up empty [emoji852]️

I ended up just disabling the data icon entirely. I almost never end up in a dead zone without signal/wifi, and if you really want to know you can use a widget or KLWP or something to make an indicator on your desktop.

Enable the System UI Tuner by pulling down the notification shade and long pressing the settings gear icon for a while.
Then, find System UI Tuner in the System Settings. From there you can disable various icons.
Sony monitor their own Community forums for feedback. There are a few threads over there already about these network indicators causing icons to shift around; plenty of people find them irritating. Be sure to add your thoughts to those threads and hopefully Sony will change the icons in a future update.
I went to phone settings and found a Sony email address and sent some feedback mostly about the status bar indicators, nfc icon, auto brightness, and missing Oreo night mode (blue light filter). But I'll check out the Sony forum. Both Oreo and the phone are fairly new, so maybe it's just they need to polish the software a bit.
I thought I was the only one finding this annoying. I was about to create a new thread about it. I think what I can do for now is to disable the entire icon and install some third party app for wifi indicator.
