Widget menu organizer? - Captivate Themes and Apps

I'm looking for that file that alot of roms use that keep the widget organized when you push on far left settings button to add widgets.. I used to be able to go there and see then display by name then show how many of that same widget was available, making it looked much cleaner and categorized.. Can someone tell me what this file was called or guide me in right direction? Thanks...

Now that more and more themes are rolling out for the Fascinate I figured it would be time to start a Fascinate specific thread with screenshots of your layouts/themes. Ill start it off with something I finished last night. Will be changing it up probably every other day until I find something that is crazily perfect haha.

What theme/home are you running, I remember seeing someone post up about it but I cant remember what it was called and where they got it.
Old screenshots but should give you an idea of what's coming next.

I'm sorry, I don't want to be That Guy, but how do you theme widgets like that?
The one thing that's been keeping me from using them is a lack of uniformity.

Pull them, edit images, push back into system. Don't worry I will release a flashable zip for the themed widgets.
Here are mine as they go from left to right on my phone.
^^^How the hell did you get you contact pics to look that good? Mine look like a digital camera from 1991 took them, atleast in the people widget they do.
They're the pictures that I assigned to my Gmail contacts on my computer. They were taken with a 10mp camera.

Wish I knew how to do more......

Probably a dumb question with a simple answer, but how did you get your YouTube widget to look that way? All I get is the logo and the search and upload button.

I really like how you are keeping the look UltraLinx(sp?) had going. I look forward to the flashable .zip!
Quick question: I do not see some widget specific .apk's in my system/apps, so where would those be located? I'm thinking data/apps but I'm not sure. Sorry ahead of time if this is a noob question.
Thanks!

Correct on the widgets, they were actually started by someone else but lynx took over at one point.
All your system apps will be in system/app and installed or market apps in data/app.
I will release a zip that will push any themed widgets to system/app.

[Q] HTC Hero Sprint Icon Question

Is it possible to change icons? If so, how?
My phone is rooted, and using the stock rom it came with from Sprint.
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Software: 2.27.651.5
Thanks for the help!
If you use launcher pro from the market as your launcher you can change the icons and the name too...
Long press on a blank space and add the app you want...tap on its picture to load your gallery and choose whatever icon you would like...there are plenty to download...
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Hm.. That's a quick way, thanks Vandelay007. Do you happen to know a way without using Launcher Pro though? Oddly enough, I like the default launcher.

Download Desktop Visualizer from the Market. Allows you to put custom icon shortcuts anywhere on your desktop for just about anything. You can't change any of the taskbar or menu icons, but it does allow you to change/customize any icons you put on your desktop home screens.

I'll definitely use this way next time though. You can't imagine how long it takes a "n00b" to find the Folder shortcut icon.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Looks like he did... I have to say, if this guy describes himself as a noob, and he managed to search and figure out how to theme without needing to aska lot of questions, I shudder to think what we have to call the people who not only don't know what they're talking about, but also can't search for it...
You can't believe how happy I am to see search work that well. It kind of scares me how happy I am.

Haha, thanks for the compliment! It really wasn't that hard to be honest. Just resize the png, rename it, and find where to put it. Once you figure out that you can open .apk files with 7zip, the rest is a cake walk!
The problem with most n00bs is that they don't want to get their hands dirty... and the laziness! Haha.

Infamous text icons.

Icon help

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I want to add a shortcut to my home screen without an icon, any way to do this? Or do I need to have an icon that is blank & if so can anyone make me one? I use launcher pro & bettercut but it doesn't seem like it's possible unless I'm missing something.

Themed Gingerbread Keyboard (Green)

title says it all... special thanks to Retrokid223 for doing the XML editing on the orig (i remade the app completely on the new versions including the xml but retro still provided me with help) and thanks to Adrynalyne and nitsuj17 also for the help on various things such as getting started with XML editing. IRC ftw. Thanks to DiGi on IRC for testing the latest verison also.

This version should be installable like any other app.. no need for it to be on system unless you just prefer it be there. If all ideas/criticism are welcome as this is my first themed apk and it taught me a lot and im still learning a lot. The settings button is fugly and i have tried to fix it to make it look good and came up empty so just go into the settings and always hide it if you dont like it because unless someone else wants to edit it and send it to me im not interested in fixing it as i doubt its even used. Enjoy.
