Finger prints are driving me NUTS. Anyone have any recommendations?

Try an anti glare. The touch is smoother and fingerprints won't disturb you anymore.
Cons: display will look a little less "sharp" but you'll get used to it fast.
With such SP a "rainbow mask" noticeable on clear colors may stay for 3/4 days untill it dries.
I got the CaseMate from my local AT&T store, it does a good job with fingerprints and cuts down on glare with a reasonable reduction of screen clarity.
I am using the one from the T-Mobile store. Is a perfect fit covering the entire glass, only leaving a hole for the sensor and camera at the top.
It has a matte finish so fingerprints are a non-issue
yes, wear cotton gloves... nothing is going to prevent fingerprints. Some of them may reduce the effect. But if your eating chicken wings and tweeting at the same time your gonna make a mess!
i have privacy filter (ebay) and it shows little or no fingerprints.. its also a bit blurry like the no-glaze filter
Look for matte screen protectors online, I'm using one right now but lost the packaging so I can't tell what brand, but it costs about 12$. Sharpness is indeed reduced but its worth not wiping the screen all the time with a microcloth IMO

I've one from cellularlines, it's ok to prevent fingerprints but i don't like it's quite matt instead of glossy

I have a Otterbox Defender case for my Galaxy Tab, the screen protector that comes with that attracts much less fingerprints than the screen when it's naked or the Zagg invisibleSHIELD.
Wow. I feel cheap. I cut the tab off of the screen cover that came with the tab and just left it on there. I hardly notice the finger prints.
I like naked screen, more comfy, cold touch.
Wrapsol works pretty well too. Got the matte package and it works nice.
for me the best one, not only for Smartphones, is the ANTIGLARE from BRANDO

Got the one from the T-Mobile store last night, it's T-Mobile branded packaging, $14.99 and it works great, cuts down glare and fingerprints.
Just ordered the sgp oleophobic screen protector. Similar to what the iPhone has for repelling fingerprints.

I may be alone in this, but I think screen protectors are overrated. The biggest danger to the screen is shattering and no screen protector will prevent that. Unless you have diamonds in your pockets I cannot imagine scratching it without breaking it completely. .

That is a good point, which would go more towards purchasing a case rather than a screen protector, though i have a major pet peeve when it comes to my screen having any sort of scratch..let alone cracks..but IMO i do believe having a well made screen protector on or screens do provide a lesser chaw of getting cracks if the device were to drop!

I am using the gadget guard screen protector, i really like it it is heavy duty, anti glare, and anti finger prints, very easy to install, can be installed with wet or dry installation. It was a little hazy yesterday when i installed it, but really clear today, took about twelve hours to clear up after wet install. But only using it till my otterbox comes in.

I agree with you about screen protector being uselessly, but with phone being so new you have to order a case, because my att store one had one, and it was for women, and the screen protector is a nice peace of mind till the case comes in.

So I just received the skinomi and got it installed. No pictures though sorry!
It was very easy to install. Came with liquid, squeege, and cloth!
It is very clear. Pretty much like the invisible shields if you have ever seen those.
Feel is also not that bad.
Fit is perfect and goes from corner to corner very well!
For less than 10 dollars on Amazon it is the best screen protector you can get.

I was using invisishield protector for a few a months. Was a pretty decent protector. Didn't tear, anti glare and all that jazz. I ended up taking it off about 4 months ago because the protector itself was scratched and to be honest, since I removed it I've been asking myself why I bought one in the first place. 4 months later, not a single scratch and I think I have enjoyed the phone more without it. Screen is clear, sharp and bright and still without scratches. Often put in my pocket with keys, lighter and other hazardous materials for out phones.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might get a normal screen protector to put below the built-in one on the otterbox and see if that reduces the sensitivity for me.
Do we really need a screen protector?
The gorilla glass is already there right?
Is it useful?

same here, what will be the point in selling a super scratch free 2 years old obsolete phone .....
just like the slightly scratched glass on my iphone 3gs I gave to my kids as an ipod touch
I see I'm in the minority here but screen protectors just don't have the same smoothness as the gorilla glass. Coming from a Samsung Impression it felt like I was running my fingers on silk. And after 4 months of always being on my person I can attest gorilla glass is pretty kick ass. I've dropped the phone onto a gravel street and got very minimal damage. Now mind you the phone bounced, landed and skidded about 10' on the kevlar back so maybe it was just a small miracle it didn't shatter. But the only damage was a small knick in the glass on the top corner away from the touch screen and a small dent in the metal around the face. The kevlar took no damage at all. I've also had in a pocket with loose change and keys with no effect.
Now maybe I'm just lucky but the kevlar backing and silky smooth touch of the gorrilla glass as opposed to having to change screens and getting a bulky case that won't fit the HD dock just aren't comparable.
I go a couple of scratches on my screen, probably from it being dropped in the gym and all that good stuff. I went ahead and got a Zagg screen protector off amazon. It's not too bad for the 10 bucks I spent.

Like with every other smartphone I've had, I had a ZAGG InvisibleShield (the InvisibleShield HD for the AHD) professionally installed on my Atrix HD. I never regret it.
I've been using my Spigen SGP Ultra Fine MATTE screen protector for a few weeks now and I finally want to upload my thoughts and some pictures.
Spigen produces some of the best quality screen protectors that I have ever tried. I first owned one the Asus Transformer TF101 and couldn't wait until they made them available for the Nexus 7. Since I owned one of these in the past, it was a no brainer for me but they work so awesome that I want to share with you.
Here is a blurb from the website:
Code:
Ultra Fine film is a high quality film with a slightly textured film with
30% increased light transmittance. The Ultra Fine is effective in preventing
glare, smudges and fingerprints
High grade anti-glare hard coated film
Premium matte surface
Good surface hardness : 3H
No rainbow effect

What this doesn't tell you is that these suckers are thicker then normal. They aren't flimsy like other ebay or amazon cheapo protectors. This makes them easy to get on without any hassles. Because they are thicker and less flimsy, pushing air bubbles out is a breeze. Especially because their little rubber air bubble remover tool is amazing and helps a lot. I chose the ULTRA FINE because of the MATTE fingerprint resistant properties that I loved from my Asus Transformer.
I've uploaded some pictures of the process starting from the unboxing, POST-installation, and a few weeks later. I wanted to give it a few weeks because this is why this screen protector is so awesome.
Code:
I haven't cleaned my screen in over several weeks and it still looks perfect!
Truely amazing!
The Package arrives in a very nice, well crafted cardboard packaging (as pictured). The kit comes very well stocked with your not-so-typical accessories. Most "other" kits come in a cheap clear plastic bag, with a cheap card board cutout card and sometimes with a lent-free cleaning cloth. The SGP kit comes with a real nice cleaning cloth, a super awesome rubber Air bubble removal tool, and a 4-pack of dust removal stickers. There was also a nice marketing piece in there to show off some of their other products.
The Rubber Air bubble removal tool really surprised me. I thought, "No way will this be better then a credit card". Well I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. The tool is pretty tough, like a big pencil eraser that you could simply erase the air bubbles away.
The cleaning cloth feels really good too is bigger then most models you get from the other guys. This one is thicker and softer.
The screen protector itself is thicker then most and noticeable right out of the pack. There is only 1 "protection" piece that you remove during installation. Some protectors have both sides covered. In this case, the protected side is the side that has the "glue" on it. So only tamper with this when you are ready to begin.
Here are some very important notes that will make this extremely satisfying on the first go:
1. DON'T USE WATER!
- On some of the cheaper protectors, you can apply a mist of water to ease up the positioning of the protector once applied. This is NOT the case with these. These have a thin film of "glue" that actually will start to break down if wet. So clean the screen very good.
2. USE PROPER LIGHTING!
- I suggest being close to a very bright window so you can easily spot any dust particles.
3. TAKE YOUR TIME!
- Don't rush
4. ONLY PEEL BACK ENOUGH TO GET YOU GOING!
- Don't rip off the protective sheet completely until the toward end. Just peel back enough to start.
5. START FROM THE TOP!
- Align the top/camera hole first. I found this easier to actually FOLD the protective sheet back and hold it out of your way. Make SURE the top is ALIGNED properly. You don't want any overhangs on the bottom.
6. WORK OUT BUBBLES AS YOU GO. DON'T WAIT UNTIL LATER!
- Working out the bubbles as you go allows you to make sure there are no dust particles hidden in one of those air pockets. If you work out the pockets as you go, half of the screen protector would still have the protective layer on it. You can easily raise up that section of the protector from the glass and use one of the included stickers to nab the dust particle before you move on.
7. REPEAT UNTIL YOU ARE DONE!
- Marvel at the glory!
Here are reasons for why I love the MATTE Ultra Fine!
1. It's MATTE = No Glare
2. Never have to wipe off finger prints!
3. Never gets grimy (sticky) after playing games for a few hours
4. Looks superb/quality
The Ultra Fine is currently $24 but worth the extra cost for the benefits. Highly recommended!

Bonus!
The Reason why I switched to a Anti-Fingerprint Matte?!
I am a IT Tech. I was working on a military base for 2 weeks and using my Transformer religiously. Tablets back then were semi-new (iPad 2 had just come out). I was talking to one of the girls who seemed interested in my tab and she briefly mentioned how nasty they look from all the fingerprints. I hadn't noticed before but after a long day, they really piled up and with the screen off, they glared out. I was trying to persuade her how awesome it was, yet she didn't even want to touch it... and that's not very sexy at all!
So I researched and found SGP Ultra Fine and purchased a protector for my Transformer TF101. Never looked back. Having your screen look amazing all day, every day without constantly cleaning it or wiping it down is a curse lifted. Long live SGP so they can protect all of my screens in the future!
Great review man!! I've used SGP before for my Inspire 4g and the protection to me is awesome. Quick question I've never used the anti glare/anti fingerprinte matte ones, could you comment how it feels? I know it won't be glass like but I kinda don't like the ones that feel too grainy if you know what i mean. thanks
Really good review! I have a eBay Matte screen protector and it's actually not bad at all. I love how the screen looks now as it's matte and anti-glare, finger prints are barely an issue as you say.
I actually like the way the screen feels with the matte. It is still very smooth; it doesn't feel grainy. To me, it just feels better, even with a stylus. Perhaps I'm just used to it from my Transformer. The AntiGlare and FingerPrint Resistance is a solid win to me (on top of protecting the screen).
Most LCD/TV's have a MATTE screen. Rubbing on some LCD's around the office, it is similar texture/feel... but the SGP is slightly smoother.
Love SGP.
It's a better "swipe" experience than clean glass, IMO. Viewing outside, GPS use, etc... and the Matte really shows it's worth. Plus no prints
RF
P.S. Steam up the bathroom and get some surgical gloves.

so I received my Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector, and I was able to put it on perfectly 1st go, no dust, no bubbles.
however it's made my screen look....fuzzy, like there's moisture underneath, but I didn't use the shower method so I don't know what moisture it would be.
Should this fix itself up after a couple of days?
Mines fine, it never had a moisture look, sometimes it gets a little fuzzy when its dirty, after a wipe its fine.

Hopefully it sorts itself out in a couple of days...

I just put the oleophbic on mine. I have a couple random dust like spots under mine but it definitely isn't matte. It kind of has a tacky feel though. I might just continue naked until a glass protector comes out.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
The oleophobic ones are easier to clean but also easier to scratch where the ultra clear is their best screen protector yet, with it being 25% better than the last one. I went with the ultra clear, but I still want to try the oleophobic, seems like a good idea. Either one is fine, don't have any complaints about the ultra clear, just my 2 cents.
Also the glass protectors won't be out for a while.
I have the oleophobic one and compared it with my friends gnote 2 without a screen protector. SGP Oleophobic screen protector does indeed make the screen look fuzzy.
Crystal version is very good. Clarity is comparable to the GlasT I had on the Note I. Actually, I think I might stick with the Crystal, as it works great with the S pen.
How bad do fingerprints and smudges show up with the UC? That's the main issue I'd like to avoid, of course without sacrificing clarity.
From my experience with the oleo for my note 1 .....the oil resistant layer doesn't last that long at all

What has your experience with glare resistant screen protectors?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
They screw up the Image and overall vision of the display, especially on white background. I guess this is due to their light reflection capabilities
But the one I used was really increasing the friction. However it is much better without the protector.

I actually am using one right now. It helps out a lot with the glare, but it gives the screen an oily look to it on a white screen. I'm moving to an invisible shield today.
I am using a matte / glare resistant screen protector and I personally think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Yes, it will cause some graininess to the screen, so that the whites are not as clear. However, the reduction in fingerprints and glare is drastic. One of the advantages that I like the most is that it allows your fingers to glide quite smoothly across the screen. Unlike glass or clear screen protectors, your fingers won't stick to the screen. People who use matte screen protectors swear by them. Buy a cheap one and try it out. If you give it time, it will grow on you.

What are the best options for screen protectors right now? Has anyone tried the spigen ultra crystal for the g2, i have had good experiences with them in the past. I know that with my galaxy nexus the glass was curved so much that a normal screen protector couldn't fit across the entire screen and the wet apply screen protectors were a mess and looked horrible. Does the g2 have the same problem?
I was wondering the same thing. Anyone bought a screen protector they're happy with? Not a big fan of the wet application type
I used one of the wet application ones from Phantom Skinz (sp?) on my Nexus. It worked so well that I plan on ordering one for the G2.
I actually got the ones from T-Mobile and was quite surprised on how much I like them! They are a dry application, very easy to install, not sticky at all (feel very much like the natural surface before the screen protector), and what I like most...very, very clear and fingerprint and smudge resistant. The only downside is they are a little bit more than I usually spend on screen protectors, $17 for 2.

Wow that seems like a good sign, the best screen protector is one that you can't tell is on the phone. I'm curious, how much of the screen does it cover and do you have any pictures of it installed that you could share?
I got the only one that AT&T stocked. It's a glossy as opposed to an anti glare but the fit and finish is spot on and I can't even tell it's there. Very pleased.
/except for the glossy part
I picked up a few screen protectors from xtreemguard .com. pretty much the same thing as best skins ever. Used code fall80 for 80 percent off. Order was 3 bucks for shipping and two screen. Shipping was fast. Not amazing but definitely the best under $10.
I'm currently rocking the XOSkins wet application screen protector and like it so far.

I have the iloome flex tempered glass screen protector on order so I picked up the Supershieldz off ebay (6 for $5 shipped) as a hold over. They're dry application, fit well, and have decent clarity. Probably not terribly different from most plastic films, but man it hazes up from fingerprints like nothing else. I cleaned it off today with rubbing alcohol and it has already picked up some mild scratches. Guess you cant expect too much for less than a buck per screen protector.

I use the Spigen Ultra Crystal. My third phone whith them. Would not use any other. It actually seems just a tad small but I guess that leaves room for a case. It leaves about an 1/8 of an inch around the sides.
I use to pay the big money for ZAGG. When I bought my G2 (9/12) there wasn't anyone that had screen protectors, so I bought the 3 pack from VZW. I still have the first one on, and no issues. Paid like 10 bucks. It works fine for me.

I use the Spigen Ultra Crystal. My third phone whith them. Would not use any other. It actually seems just a tad small but I guess that leaves room for a case. It leaves about an 1/8 of an inch around the sides.

Do the sides have any problems with the edges? And are you using a case with it?

I have the iloome flex tempered glass screen protector on order so I picked up the Supershieldz off ebay (6 for $5 shipped) as a hold over. They're dry application, fit well, and have decent clarity. Probably not terribly different from most plastic films, but man it hazes up from fingerprints like nothing else. I cleaned it off today with rubbing alcohol and it has already picked up some mild scratches. Guess you cant expect too much for less than a buck per screen protector.

I did the same thing but can't seem to line up those supershieldz it's either the top lifts up or the bottom. I take pride in my installations lol everyone at work comes to me.

I have the skinomi screen protector on my phone but it's not really adhering well with my case on it. I waited a full day and the edges still come up

I bought the overpriced crap from Verizon and they just peeled up with the gel case I bought from them too. Ordered the 80% off xtreme skins or whatever they're called and they're great. Fit nicely under the case. Only gripe I have is the screen isn't as slick as the ones from Verizon or the actual screen.
Well this time I just tried a bit different.... its not Zagg one...its not Spigen..but this time I tried Privacy at Fommy.....
heard a lot about it from one of my friend and after wearing it on my G2.. I can say that the thing it says..it delivers..now I can easily check out my official mails at crowded place and am not worried about the guys standing around me as its not visible to them..that is something I really like about it and moreover it is very finely gripped on the phone and does not even give the feel as If I have placed something on the screen.....I know its quite new one but I am liking this product...
Go with the iloome tempered glass protector I had one on my note 2 it works great and it curves to the edges

Just wanted everyone to know that I picked up these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EL94VPQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and although they fit well, the adhesive is too weak and they are slightly too big. The is a little lifting around the edges but the poetic case does not interfere with it.
I use these:

Easy to install and the edges do not interfere with my VZW shell/holster case. Been using on my N7 with poetic case for several months and still looks beautiful. Comes with lifetime guarantee too.
