I was wondering is there a way to switch the search button on the button to goto googlesearch app in stead of the search app. I was just wondering because google can update the googlesearch app through market but the search app cant. Thanks

Hi!
I have a Galaxy S and searching for mapping the long press button so to launch a custom app, and the vol up & down so to manage next or perv song in player.
For the first one I have found a home & search button switcher. It is called HomeSmack and its free on the Market. It allows to change the default launcher invoked with the home button (like the famous app Home Switcher for Froyo), but it also attempts to remap the long press that is bind to the recent pop-up.
This last feature would work if I could Clear Defaults to the Android app that invokes the recent pop-up. I realized this because is written in the tutorial of a task switcher called TapIt that I was trying to use. It says that without clearing those defaults it is not able to bind a new app to the long press.
Is there a way to clear those defaults? What android app is involved?
Otherwise how is it possible to remap the long press with another app?
About the vol up & down, I wouldt like to remap them ONLY in a song player, and have back the vol control in regular phone use. Is it possible?
Otherwise is there a third party player that has this functionality?

Is there anyway to activate voice search by long pressing the home button? Right now, if you long press the home button it brings up the Google tiles then you have to hit the mic to voice search. I've tried the home2menu app, but it doesn't work.

After you are in google now by long pressing home, if you say "google" it will automatically activate voice search, not exactly what you want, but it does the trick. (may need to activate the feature in settings)
In every launcher if I long press the home button the Google search opens. Is there a way to open the Google VOICE search when I long press the home button?
Solution through App
There's an app called "Home Button Launcher" that lets you configure the "Home Button Swipe Up" gesture. In the app's options you can tell the app to directly execute an application or an action - it's called "Auto start mode" if only one single app selected.

I use apex instead of the samsung launcher which is faster and use less usage which i think is good for me. But i want set the long-press menu key to open google search and the samsung search ( which very ugly and useless) will open after the google search start up. I want to know how to disable or remove the samsung search.
Looking for the same answer. In the meantime I've just switched double tap on desktop to Google voice search (which isn't hijacked by s voice) and long menu to Google search. Using Nova launcher
Edit... Just realized even normal Google is hijacked too from menu key

I disabled S Voice and all that other stuff, as well as in the voice search settings. Now when I hold the menu key for a short period Google Now pops up, but if I hold it longer S Finder pops up.
Hello, I can't find anywhere how to remap long press on Home button to open Google Now insted of Recent apps. I have successfully changed Menu button to act as Recent app and its much quicker, but for remaping long press Home button I cant find info.
Is there anyone who know this trick?
