When I install Widget Locker, it doesn't disable the original lock screen, so now I have to unlock twice - first Widget Locker and then Samsung Locker. How did you work around it?
Don't know if it is a bug, but when you set the powerbutton action to "shutdown", the lockscreen is disabled also. Look in the code thread for the code, or download sgs info from the app forum to set the powerbutton action.

The other lockscreen does show sometimes I have noticed (such as for alarm), but ensure all security on it is turned off for things to work properly. Also, you might just need to set the options better.
I use widget locker even though it does lag a bit because I find the samsung unlock too sensitive (even in JM5)

I had the same problem.
I liked the Widget Locker, but this "bug" is so boring.
I must admit I hate the Sweep to unlock screen. I'd much rather have the stock Android lock screen.

If you set the power button to shutdown, can you still lock the screen with it?

its a little buggy, when I press power button it first shows the default galaxy s lockscreen than the simpe lockscreen. Second the clock remains at the same hour, it changes only when I unlock the device and than lock it back, after that it freezes again, its not real time
i don't have that problem, it works for me
i just want "Sweep glass to unlock" to be completely removed
anyone know what is the name of the APK "Sweep glass to unlock" in Titanium Backup?
I'll try out simply lock, I like widget locker because earlier I had a bunch of widgets and apps on it that I'd be most likely to call up when unlocking (maps, internet, power control, weather widget.)
Now, with LauncherPro's gesture shortcuts I have blank homescreens and just dock icons with a dual functions since I use a gesture on them. Now, I've cleaned out widget locker to look at my beautiful background. Meanwhile, I can get to my homescreen by pressing home, back and/or having a lock icon (vanilla, widgetlocker, sense, and I think 2 other options).
Definitely liking this look to my phone more than all the others I have tried. I even use a bit of livewallpapers for the first time, doesn't hurt my battery life too much as long as they allow my phone to sleep (I've noticed one that wouldn't so I keep my eye open for battery drain when I wake my phone after the screen is off).
i use live VR wallpaper and or the Mario live wallpaer
those 2 are fun
the rest are okay but boring, i tried matrix, nexus, all the ones that came with the phone, etc.
still waiting for some more interesting ones to pop up in the horizon, something more interactive
I enabled the standard unlock pattern under settings-location and security
I much prefer it to the sweep glass.

There's a great little app called 'No lock'.
Search for 'No lock' on the app market.(Its a free app. Also has handy widget)
i tried no lock again, but it doesn't work
"Sweep glass to unlock" will still show up after reboot
no lock is just another lock screen
same problem here, i don't like "like sweep to unlock" either
do u guys have any solution yet ?

I assume you've seen aCircuit Board? Isn't too bad, paid apps weren't available when it came out but I'll probably get it soon. I actually want to get the free one that works with beautiful widgets (haven't bought beautiful widgets because every has been saying its been broken from an update, but when they fix it I'll probably be all over both).
I definitely like the ones that use the accelerometer/motion sensors like the VR paper. I saw one with Android Andy's falling, but it looked a bit too cartoonish for me.
I found Ocean Waves to be quite interactive and nice enough, but it was the one that I've isolated to giving my phone sleep issues so I wont be using it.

Yeah, I agree, I was using that until I got widgetlocker because I found myself having much less "re-dos" on unlock attempts. Now, I just hit a softkey and I'm to my home screen or if you want you can have a slide to unlock that I find more intuitive and accurate than sweep glass.

Funny how it works great for me.
After the screen times out,no matter how long I wait.. when I press the home key the screen lights up again without the need to sweep. Even after rebooting it works,no need to activate it again.
Awesome.

You have to launch No Lock and tap the icon in the middle to active it.
I love my newly rooted Aria... I do however miss my lock screen. I loved having the Aria lock, where you pull the whole lock screen down to get to your apps. With CM6 you get the slide bar to unlock. It's not terrible, but I'd really really prefer to use the old Aria lock screen... Anyone know if this is available anywhere or how I go about doing it? Thanks in advance...
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I BELIEVE that lock screen is sense ui and since sense (that sounds weird) is proprietary it cannot be added to CM6...there are however many lock screen apps that will allow you to choose something remarkably similar to the sense lock screen...widget locker is one of them.
Also, how did you manage to get the slide? When I unlock (bring my phone back from standby) it just shows me my visible dots for unlock pattern and once I enter that brings me to my home screen...

Hm, did you try just disabling your lock pattern? It's either in the CM6 settings or the ADW Launcher settings. By default after I rooted my phone the lock screen was a little slider bar, not like the iphone slider, it was a little tab on the left of the screen and when you hold it you slide it to the right. I ended up just disabling my lock screen completely but would go back to the old sense lock if I figure out how. I do remember reading somewhere that disabling the dot lock pattern will default to the slider lock screen, should work for you.
I think ever since CM nightly 37, my lockscreen is gone. No matter whether it's waking up from sleep, or reboot, my nook color never asked for password and anyone can access it!
I went to the setting -> location & security, the screen unlock option is still "change screen lock". Upon clicking it, I need to input my old password to change to a new one. However this is the only place that it asks me for password.
I tried disable password, then enable. No help.
I tried changing lockscreen setting in CM settings, no help either.
I'm running on CM7 stable now, and the problem is still there. Please help! I can't leave my nook color unprotected.
FYI, I used ROM manager for all ROM updates. The screenlock worked before.
It's a Tablet Tweaks setting, on by default.
Settings -> CyanogenMod settings -> Tablet tweaks -> Disable Lockscreen
Thanks. The lock screen appeared! However, it's at an unusual size, as large as a phone's screen. As a result I couldn't see half of the keyboard to input my full password. Is there a way to have a larger lock screen? Is it the set lcd density trick?

That I don't know. I've never tried adding a password lock, only using the various sliders/rotates on the lock screen.
go to spare parts, unclick compatibility mode

Cool. That solved it.
FYI, it was unselected. So I selected it, unselected, then reboot, then bingo!

I had the same lock-screen issue once I enabled it on CM7 stable. I simply rebooted and it fixed it.
So just installed CM10.1 on my Touchpad. Works great. Now Im reading that you cn add widgets to the lock screen and have looked at videos on how to do it. But there is just no + icon on my lock screen. Could it be that I have an assigned PIN to unlock my device? If so then how do you add a widget in this scenario?

Have you tried swiping left? Still nothing?
yes i have swiped left, right, up, down. there is no + icon. I see in the settings under Lockscreen there is an option to allow multiple widgets. Have turned that on and off with no results. There is the Widget pager>Allow multiple widget pages to be added and selected. That's is checked on. Then there is Camera widget>Show the camera widget to the right of the unlock screen. That is checked on. Doesn't change my lockscreen in any way.
Actually I have done that several times and when I go back the options are turned back to off. Wonder if that has to do with me connecting to Exchange and it being part of the security policy. I don't know I'm just shooting in the dark.
So I know we've just gotten our hands on this phone but is there any way to change the rediculous stacked clock other than a theme? I think the S8 is same so maybe there's an app for this.
Settings>Display then scroll to bottom and you'll see the option for Always on Display, Smart Stay etc.
Not the aod clock, I mean the actual lock screen clock.

I have an S8 Plus and this is what worked for me to get the awful stacked clock off of the lock screen. 1) go to settings, choose the option for Lock Screen / Wallpapers. 2) Choose the option for Information / FaceWidgets. 3) Choose the option for Contact Information. At this point, you can enter your contact info if you want to, but you don't have to. Simply hit the space bar a time or two, and save. You should now have a much better clock when you look at your lock screen.

I just put a weather widget on the lock screen under the clock and that took care of it.

Choose a theme. I know it's a bit of an annoyance, but I changed my theme and it changed the lock screen clock.
If you turn on notifications in settings, lock screen and security, the clock will be horizontal. It could go back to vertical when there are no notifications, but i have viber icon enabled, so there's always one notification active.

I’m not sure this is exactly what you mean, but I figured I would post it and if not you won’t use it. I didn’t liked the digital clock either because it was stacked. I also already have a digital clock in the notification area. So I chose the analog clock and picked a different color as well. This has nothing to do with a theme because I actually set this up and Nova before I looked for a way to get a dark background and found a decent then that worked for me. I hope this helps and it’s what you are looking for. I would’ve answered sooner, but I just noticed this thread. If you meant something else and you haven’t solved it, please let me know.

AOD (Always on Display) is not what I'm talking about. The option your talking about is for AOD not the lock screen clock.

Yes, it was. Like I said, I wasn’t 100% certain exactly what you were looking for. However, that being said, I do have an analog clock on my AOD and a normal digital clock on the lock screen. I think there are only 2 possibles on why that working on my phone:
1.) I have a free theme downloaded and installed because I wanted a black background. I was concerned on doing this because I have my phone setup to look a certain way as I’m sure you do as well. I use Nova Prime and Cobalt Icon Pack. I was afraid that if I installed this it would change what I had set up, but it different. In case you wanted to try it, the name of the theme is Material_Black
2.) The other idea that I have heard that works and ironically I’m using one, is to install a Weather app. I have Transparent clock & weather installed. I also use the a widget from this app on my home screen to show the time, weather, and lots of other stuff. I’ve read from other people mention 2 or 3 other weather apps working as well. So if you’re using a different one, maybe you could try that first.
The reason I am assuming it’s one of these 2 ideas is because I changed my AOD clock to be the stacked version and my lock screen clock didn’t change. It stayed it’s normal digital. So obviously what you have set on your AOD has no bearing on the lock screen. If you try the theme idea, I don’t believe there are any special settings to enable. However, using the weather app may require a specific setting that I’m not sure of. I’ve been using my weather app for years on numerous phones and I really haven’t changed any settings on it other than some aesthetics.
I hope this helped out. If not, I can look again in my phone because obviously something is working on my phone to accomplish what you want. I would also appreciate it if you try these ideas, if you could let me know if it works and which one/specific settings. This way in case I come across other people with the S8/S8+ and Note 8 I can be more specific in helping them. Good luck! I hope one of them work!
