Hey to all that are interested HP touchpad is now $99 for 16gb and 150 for 32gb. I know HP has discontinued them but still a good price. I have called staples and walmart and they have some left in my area.
Hopefully they'll get Honeycomb on it.
it would have been ipad killer if they priced it at $99 so sad....bargain if you can get honeymoon to work on it but thing breaks or battery dies. U r screwed...
Anybody think it may be a marketing ploy to flood the market with them? Just a thought. Called every where in the tampa bay area. Sold out gone.

I picked on up at Best Buy on Saturday (the day they re-released them for sale). 16GB for $105 with taxes. It's a great device. Even with webos on it (which means balls in Spanish BTW). Got it for the wife, but wish I had gotten two.
Also, there was a system update on it this morning. They must be pushing out the last of their support for it.

I went to every Walmart, Staples and Best Buy for a 50 mile radius and no joy.
The Best Buy manager in my hometown is being a real jerk. Supposedly they have like a hundred of them in the back but he refuses to put them out on the shelves for a 100 bucks a piece.

I believe it's actually "huevos," which means "eggs." But it does sound like "webos" when you hear it.

I am on the market for a good tablet, is the dell streak 7 a pretty solid device? I owned a dell streak 5 previously and it had lots of issues with random reboots and such, even on the stock ROM.

A buddy of mine had one he wanted to get rid of the other day. I picked it up for 100 and gave it to my 6 year old for his birthday. He's been happy with it so far.
Running stock HC on it. It does really well with most games, better than any of my phones. The battery life on it has been not the best. Had it less than a week now but I would gladly buy it again for 100.
Some of the quad core tablets announced at ces starting at 250 look a lot better though.

Lol I picked up one for my kids and I really like it too. I put stock Honeycomb on it and I have no regrets.
Given the opertunity to buy a DS7 for $100.00USD yes I would buy if I knew it was in reasonable condition and was functionable. Iam very pleased with my DS7 and since I have another complete otterbox defender case (which was a freebee) collecting dust right now, it's a no brainer, I'd jump on it.

I answered yes but mostly because it's the first thing I've ever pre-ordered, which instantly makes it the longest I've ever had to wait to receive a shiny new toy.
Second most anxious device (after Nexus One).

I'm a early adopter and love my gadgets. Maybe the original Palm Pilot had the most anticipation for me followed by my first iPhone.
I was telling my wife last night about reading on Compuserve that the Palm Pilot was in stores, calling Circuit City and begging the guy to hold one for me for and hour. I called my boss and told him I had a personal emergency and went to get my Pilot.
I won't need to call off work to get my Nexus, I work at GameStop.
I'm pretty excited but a new toy is always exciting

I called my boss once and said I had a flat when I was picking up my INT S2 the day they were available here in PR..
Waited eagerly for my upgrade time to get my Galaxy Nexus..
And the wait for the Nexus 7 is killing me..

I am pretty excited about this tablet. I got an HP touchpad last year and loved it, especially after I got cm 7 on it then cm 9. When I got my girl the kindle fire I fell in love with the size of it and the price of it but not really the specs. The nexus 7 will be perfect for me.

My mother was after a tablet. She didn't want an iPad, so I told her to try out a 10in and a 7in Android in a store an decide what size she liked the best. She liked the 7, so I said I had a Nexus7 on pre-order, and she could try it out when it arrived.
I took mine over last Sunday (29th July), she instantly loved it, ordered the 16GB there an then from Google Play store, I warned her it might take a week or so, but I was shocked when it arrived early on Tuesday morning (31st July). It's also defect free, and she is overjoyed with it so far. She has already spend her £15 on content.
Well done Google. They seem to be ontop of things now for sure, at least in the UK. Mine arrived perfect condition, but was delayed by a few days (not the end of the earth, despite the impression you would have got reading here).
The new ones don't need a OTA either, it arrived with 4.1.1 ready installed.
I got next day delivery and a perfect unit also, first wave UK device.

I bought one for my mom, she immediately fell in love with it. My dad has an iPad and she doesn't like it b/c it's too heavy, and also because Apple sucks balls.
Nice Story.. my mother liked mine too, especially playing "wheres my water". I will buy her one for birthday hopefully I can purchase it here (germany) until then. Importing 5 pound of Walther Whites blue crystals is easier to get a Nexus 7 from UK to Germany
My mom probably plans on getting one, she just needs to get rid of her nook color. I can always tell when I show her my new toys if the next time i hear from her it will be "hey how do I do this on mine"
I got that when she was playing with the nexus. She also made sure before i left, so I'd want the 8gb, or the 16? lol

and the wife actually LOVES it My wife gets annoyed with my geeky approach to devices, including rooting, etc. I bought a N7 for myself to use for work and she was eyeing it a little, so I got the last one from Office Max for her birthday. I was nervous about her reaction, but she LOVES it. My devious plan to get her to give up her iPhone 4S at some point is slowly taking shape :angel:
She inherited the old nook color. But I would totally buy her one if she wanted it.

My GF has an iPad 2 along with an iPod Touch... so there's really no hope for her. I did, however, buy a Nexus 7 for my parents and they like it a lot. I've simplified the screens to the bare-bones of what they'll be using it for... maps, translators, etc for traveling, game folders, eReader folders for Mom, sports links for Dad, etc...
Then, I went and bought one for myself, too.
My GF fell in love with the Nexus 7 after using mine, so I gave it to her... Then bought another one for myself. :angel:
Sold off my A500 and my wife's archos 101 and iPhone 3g and used the money towards 2 nexus 7's!
She loves the thing and is enjoying movies more than anything on it!
I have never had a tablet before, and my girlfriend has had the Kindle fire since Christmas 2011.. I didn't want to buy one for myself and leave her hanging with her Kindle, so I told her that I would buy her a N7 if she gave me her Kindle fire (to sell and pay the difference). She loves it. I do, however, feel bad when I take a look at her device and see it all bogged down with tons of random apps such as "cake maker"

My wife lasted about 3 days after seeing mine.... selling her Kindle Fire to get a Nexus 7. Most likely going with the 8GB, she does primarily online stuff, not much storage.
i bought my own. men are too needy. and want to play with my tech toys. but most of my friends would love this over a smart phone for most device's.

QFT.
My girl is very smart, built her own killer gaming PC, and can converse intelligently on about any subject. It's baffling how she fell for the iCult. I just smile, say nice things about the screen, and inwardly chuckle when she can't tether off her phone, plug in external storage, or do so many of the things we Android folk take for granted. I might just give her a Nexus 7 and see if that lures her away from the Dark Side of the Saint Steve Devoted.
To be fair, her first experience with an Android tablet was a Xoom running 3.0 ...and we all know how laggy and clunky that was.
I quickly got tired of sharing mine with the family so my girlfriend and six year old daughter now share one. It is mostly used to play minecraft by the six year old at the moment.

Not the wife...
Talked grandma into an 8GB N7, due to her Coby Android tablet having a resistive touchscreen and generally a lagfest.
Then after setting up her apps and homescreen on the new N7, I decided I needed a 16GB.
The wife normally gets the hand-me-downs (which are usually brand freakin' new devices lol) but this is my first tablet. I hid it from her for a few days because married men know what it's like to get scolded for buying new toys. But instead, she loved it and proclaimed that she wants one!
I'm so proud of my wife!! I always flash CM nightlies for her and she advocates Android and CM to anyone who mentioned anything about smart phones. She's converted a few Apple fans over to the Android platform too. I'm excited to get her a N7!

My wife is getting my Nook Color. But since I am running MIUI, I did at least put a very frilly theme on it!!!!
I bought a Nexus 7 for myself and my wife is super jealous! We're selling our 32gb HP Touchpad with CM9 flashed on it so she can get a Nexus 7 of her own.
My evil plan of filling our household with Android devices continues to take shape... Now all I'll need to do is to convince her to go Android when she's up for her mobile renewal
