Can I root on a 1.1.0 ?? or do I have to go back to a stock 1.0.1 ?
Thanks !
You could try using the Clock Work Recover sdcard image and try installing and see if that works. I suggest you use CWR back up utility before you try installing the 1.1 zip with CWR. Look in the Dev section for the rooted 1.1 zip and also the Recover image for the CWR.

Another path to a rooted 1.1 NC would be to restore to stock 1.01, use AutoNooter to root, install ROM Manager from the market, use ROM Manager to install Clockwork Recovery, use ROM Manager to Make a nandroid, then use Decad3nce ROM to get to 1.1 (read the whole thread re the 1.1 ROM to what if any problems exist) ... the nandroid you make will help restore is anything goes wrong ... also if you have NON B&N apps installed now get Astro from the market, use it to backup the NON B&N apps (B4 restoring to stock) and you can avoid the redownload process .. after you are rooted you are better off with Titanium backup, but it requires root. hope this helps ...
Here are two alternatives without installing about 14 things to your NC:
1) Clockwork Recovery via SDcard
2) "Unofficial" Auto-nooter update
Homer
Thanks to Homer_S_xda; used the Clockwork Recovery method and it worked without any problems (Quick and easy) Nice one!

im on samset 2.0 rom running android 2.2
what happens is that when i install clockwork mod recovery in rom manager and try to make a backup, it goes back to the orignal recovery screen without any nandroid backup option, any fix
Two things that perhaps you have ommited:
1) Root you rom
2) Before pressing the option for the backup, you have to select "flash recovery" option in Clockword, that downloads the update.zip file which actually contains the custom recovery. Don't worry nothing is actually "flashed", just a download
Cheers P.
but be aware that clockwork recovery is far from reliable, read from here for more info...
I don't know if there's a new version of SamSet 2.0, I used it like 2 weeks ago and Clockwork didn't work for me either, I read somewhere the file system is somehow changed in Froyo. My solution was going back to Eclair until a FINAL Froyo is released.

I don't run FroYo, but in Eclair, there's a problem sometimes with clockwork not putting the proper update.zip in the root of your internal sdcard.
Easy workaround for me is to go to the clockwork folder and manaully copy the recovery-update.zip file to the root of the internal sdcard and rename it to update.zip.
Even then, once in a while it doesn't autorun, so all you do from the standard recovery is select to run the update.zip and then it starts up clockwork for you.
Good luck.
Thanks for the help but i guess i changed back to android 2.1
Another reason i changed back was the lack of apps support
clockwork works fine on eclair
So, I set up ClockwordMod via http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...m-manager-nandroid-backup-custom-kernels.html
I followed all of the instructions & booted into the recovery menu. I selected backup & it finished. I selected "reboot system now" & the Nook Color just rebooted right back into the ClockwordMod Recovery menu. I'm not sure what went wrong. I followed every step of the instructions perfectly. I've used ClockworkMod Recovery on my Droid 2 (via Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap) without issue before.
FYI: I'm using the stock 1.1.0 Nook Color system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah there is a known Issue with Installing CWR to your Nook via Rom Manager while on Rom 1.1..
Which Versions of CWR and Rom Manager are you using? I thought that they fixed this problem in the newest Versions....
From my experiance with this issue you will have to uninstall CWR from the Boot Partition, and possibly completely wipe and restore the Boot, and inturn the whole system will need to be restored.

Thanks for replying I'm using CWR 3.0.0.5 & whatever the latest version of the Rom Manager is (can't remember off the top of my head). Would I uninstall CWR with adb? Would I then need to restore my Nook Color to the default system? Might you have instructions on how to uninstall CWR?

3.0.0.5 is the old one, 3.0.0.6 is the newest CWR, I think they fixed this issue, but Im not sure, I would check around before you install CWR to your boot partition again on your 1.1
Sorry I though that link I gave had that Zip and Instructions on it, but it just had the Link the Thread that has it on there... >_<
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
This link has a Flashable Zip that will restore boot, You will need to burn a CWR SD card and run from there.
if you have further trouble after that you will need to fully restore everything.

Custom nookie Froyo .68 emmc
Just wondering why you want to go back ?
as the title says, how do i remove cwm? i want to try cm7 and i cant do that with pauls version of cwm, and it refuses to update cwm
so some1 please enlighten me as to how i remove it
another quick question what is a nandroid, and how do i make one?
It should work to update even thou there's an old version installed. I did that this morning from Pauls O2X Clockwork Recovery. But now since this afternoon I'm not able to install the recovery from RomManager anymore I think there is a server issue.
The reason I did have to download it again was because I wanted to start som scratch and flashed the original O2X ROM and then wanted to go to CM again.

Install ROM Manager, I was running CWM 3.0.1.8 or something like that prior to running CWM from CM7.
You can also restore the original bootloader, look up for r1-stockrecovery-2x-unsigned.zip
As to nandroid, basically it is a full backup of your phone. You should always make a nandroid backup before installing another ROM.
Can someone please give me a step by step guide to flash a custom rom?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dmncIGCx7A
I Followed this guide, but it does not show my phone? I have the LG revoution I want to use this custom rom from hhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210041 ((Rom][9-19-11]Revolt Rom 1.5)but I can't seem to get it. I've put it on my SD Card, but the Rom Manager just won't work. Can someone please help me?
Plus on the settings app -> SD cards and phone storage settings
It shows SD Card: Total space unavailable Available space: unavailable
Interanal same thing
How do i fix this?
Your link to the ROM is broken. What ROM are you trying to use? Revolt?
Have you rooted your phone and installed the recovery software?
If you have a stock phone, it is on V6, and you will need to downgrade to V4 before you can root the phone and install a custom ROM. You can do that by following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211295 (To register the DLL, open a CMD as administrator, then type 'regsvr32.exe "C:\LGElectronics\LGNPST\MOdels\VS910.dll" ')
After that you will need to root your phone, Superoneclick is one of the ways to do it. The newest version didn't work for me, but version 1.6.3 did.
Then you need to install a recovery program, the easiest way is with RevoToolKit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144951
Then you can reboot into recovery and install a custom ROM. Of course it's probably a good idea to back up your current system first.

Clockworkmod is the recovery software, that's what installs the ROM. You have to reboot into recovery in order to access it.

I have ROM Manager From Clockworkmod, but the thing is when i try to flash my ROM it asks me to verify my phone model, but it shows a bunch of tablet models and doesnt have the lg revolution?
Rom Manager doesn't work with the revolution yet. Use the revotoolkit to install the version of clockwork that thecubed ported over, and then you'll be able to flash revolt 1.5

Took me a while to get that figured out, too... some trial and error finally got it so I could boot CWM into recovery mode, then installed the Revolt mod from the zip file. All seems to be going well now

first of all, your phone must be root. please make sure that
Its already rooted
my phone is already rooted, thats y i have rom manager in it,
i have cm7 rom installed and cwm installed via rom manager, but it has gallery bug so i restored to my stock gb nandroid backup after restarting the phone i cant see my cwm recovery.
i have tryed all the method in xda o2x forum to install cwm in my phone but no luck, the only way i got it via rom manager, but i can access cwm through rom manager only after reboot to recovery from the app, if i try to reboot the manually and holding down the volume its goes to software update mode no cwm recovery.

oh so you're already root, i think the problem because you already flashed CM7 ROM which is ext 4. and if you want to go back to stock GB which is ext 3, you can't nandroid backup you should flash the back to ext 3 CWM zip, then you can go back to stock GB.
I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
