Problem with Darkys rom 9.1 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

got major prob since v9.0...cellphone crashes rondomly, but mostly when i get an sms...sms symbol is shown but display has half brightness, no button response...all i can do is take the battery out...next problem with freezes...now and then if i close a program the screen is completely dark nothing responses...after 3 min cellphone is back on track...i wiped the phone everytime i updated darkys...

try doing a reinstall of the rom , make sure you wipe dalvic cache , cache and maybe even a factory reset first

Usual ask Darky or
Via Odin block 2 method wipe

[Q] Big Problems After Disconnection of USB Data Cable

Hi guys, I have a big problem, every time I disconnect my SGS from the pc my phone goes crazy and gives me FC's and none of the bottons work unless I take out the battery it will stay giving FC's for a while and then it reboots and keeps looping the reboot procedure.
The only way then to get to my phone is by factory reseting and deleting dalvik cache and battery stats via CWM. btw I had this problem since my first MIUI (1.7.22) and I've updated it every week but still no change.
Does any of you GURU's have an idea about this, it is really irritating, because practically I can not connect the phone to my pc to exchange data, with the original Samsung Android I had 4 or 5 ways to connect to my PC (Wi-Fi, DLNA, AllShare, USB Data Cable Samsung Kies and Samsung Kies AIR), but now I can not connect with any of those mediums.
.
try flashing it from 2.2.1froyo because if you flash miu from gb you will get lots of fc's, flash to froyo 2.2.1, then go to recovery mode, wipe data, datadata, cache, dalvik cache, and system and then do a fresh install. ive had problems like that before and it was because i came from gingerbread the bootloader wasnt correct to flash miui, also try fixing permissions from cwm hope it helps
I am comming from froyo, but thanks anyway, your reply gave me an idea.
I'll try another ROM, maybe cyano or maybe something more exotic like F1 SGS II or Fasty.
Have your tried ejecting the phone from your PC USB menu before unplugging it?

Yes, Sometimes it helps but most of the times doesn't have any effect at all!

[q] Endless restart loop

I've had my sgs for almost 1 year , and except for rooting it i didnt rly fiddle with it .
On new years eve night i noticed my phone was closed, and when i tried to open it , it started going in this endless restart loop where it would show me the Galaxy S gt-i9000 start up screen and then restart.I pulled out the battery and the problem got fixed, but now it's happening again and it seems i cant fix it.
I read on the forums that this might indicate an internal sd card failure, and if thats the case is there any way of getting my data back?
Power the phone down then push the on button.
Then hold down the home key, the on key, and the left key in the down position and it will give you a fresh boot and upload the original settings.......
You will lose all your pics and numbers etc so I hope you have it backed up..

that will get you in the download mode...
If you are indeed rooted a last resort can be downloading the 2.3.5 stock rom from Sam mobile.. Put your phone into download mode as that guy said, there are lots of tutorials about this online then use odin to flash. As I say this is a last resort if nothing else works.

Use 3 button combo to recovery (Volume up + Home + Power) and do a factory reset and wipe cache. You will see them from the menu. You will not going to lose your personal data. You will just have to install the apps again.
At first don't make factory reset. Try first to wipe Cache, dalvik Cache and fix permissions (all from the recovery). If it doesn't help try flash new Rom (no wipe) or make factory reset. If this don't help either try flashing a 3 file Rom with pit and repartition.

Doing a factory reset won't wipe your pics and all.. it'll just wipe the 2GB partition that is used for rom and apps.. your pics are stored on the separate 6GB/14GB partition and that is not affected when you do a factory reset.. all your contacts, messages and applications etc will be wiped though..

If you have gone into recovery and cleared cache, dalvik cache and fixed permissions, then the only option available now is to factory reset in recovery. You will NOT lose any pictures or music on your sd card. You will however, lose your installed apps, their data, your phone numbers and messages. Hopefully you have your numbers backed up with google or at least stored on your sim.
If this doesn't work, you will need to flash a new rom with odin. It's a 5 minute job once you've downloaded everything required.

Did as you said and its still not working, because i still have my waranty il take it to the " pros" instead of flasing a new rom.
Only way is to flash a fresh stock rom via Odin since factory reset wouldn't work for you.

Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9010 Giorgio Armani Bootloop problem

Ok since I couldn't find a topic for my specific model (Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9010 Giorgio Armani) I tought this was the best place to put this thread.
Let me start by saying I never messed around with my phone , I preformed 1 firmware-upgrade with samsung kies but I never installed custom ROM's or anything like that.
Now yesterday I found my phone stuck in a bootloop , I got out of it a couple of times and could boot my phone again but after a hour or less my phone restarted and got back in bootloop. Now I can't even get in again , not even for a small period of time.
I can get in download mode and I also got into recovery mode twice (This doesnt work every time , most of the time he doesnt get to "update media , please wait").What I alread tried is wipe data/factory reset but after that my phone just keeps bootlooping.
What do I need to do to get it out of this bootloop ?

First remove battery, remove sim card and ext SD card, press power button for a min and than reinsert Battery and power on...IF it still bootloops, try 3 button combo for recovery mode
wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset and go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache too. Reboot, If still bootloops
you need to flash a i9010 ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233620 or CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948424

Busted note?

So,
My partners note is running CleaNote v4, with NoteCore v13 standard. Today, after shutting off Automatically through empty battery, she plugged the phone in for half hour and tried turning it back on. ever since.. its simply not starting, the boot screen is active but not proceeding beyond it for anything up to an hour.
and therefore..
ive tried the usual, let it charge full, nothing. wiped dalvic, cache and battery stats.. nadda.
when i choose to wipe dalvic now however, i get the message .. E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
im hoping its not as serious as it looks, ive searched it and there doesnt seem to be a solid solution anywhere, should i just factory reset?
ive reflashed CleaNote v4 via CWM.. been booting again.. for a long, long time.
afraid im all out of options, factory reset? flash stock rom and return to sammy?
You can do factory reset as you are on safe Kernel OR you can try flashing some other custom rom using cwmr, but best way is to flash stock GB rom using odin.
I agree with the post above.. but better try to go first to CWM, wipe cache partition, wipe data, wipe dalvik cache, reboot recovery and reboot system... if the phone's still stuck on 'Samsung's' bootlogo... then go to the last option of downgrading to Sammy's Stock GB and work your way up again to flash CleanNote after.
Oi
Cheers fellas,
Sorted it, just a factory reset fixed it.. still get the same error message in CWM when wiping dalvic.. BUT..
restored the wifeys ice age village save from nandroid backup before i wiped.. my nuts are safe, so are her ingame nuts!
i flash my note every few days, and face the odd hiccup, hers has never had a single hiccup on the trusty CleaNote/NoteCore combination..wonder what caused it? thanks anyway!
I read somewhere before that you shouldn't run your battery juice out completely... Always leave a little juice out and charge it back again to full. Never leave it to run dry... Li-Ions are not designed to be completely drain out.. with a small juice left, you need to recharge it back again. It's not good for the battery itself to leave it completely drained.

Galaxy Note 9 Mid screen not respond to touch

Hi I hope you all will be fine.
Model# N960U1
Yesterday I updated to andriod pie. After updating I got all new look nd software but one thing note that the mid section of my screen didn't respond to touch. Along with that some times screen freez nd after ten seconds it come back to life. I have tried wipe cache and safe mode start but nothing help. I tried another method like backup data nd factory reset after that phone start working normal but after twelve hour phone of use and encounter the same issue now u can't do that every time to reset. Please advise a solution..
Does it happen if you boot in safe mode? If not there might be some app conflicting. If it is still occurring in safe mode then try factory reset but no data restore. If the issue comes back contact Samsung for repair.

Have you tried backing up only your messages, files and photos without the apps and system settings then factory reset? Do that and redownload all of your apps fresh from the playstore then redo all of your system settings all over again. That could help a lot.
