[Q] Where is the Microphone????? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Does anyone know where the Microphone is inside the casework of the Xperia X1?
I have a problem with the mic and want to replace it....After taking the phone to pieces, I can find the speaker (which, contrary to other threads I've read, is actually behind the triangular hole in the bottom of the casework, which I THOUGHT was the mic, but it isn't))) So how is the sound of the voice channelled in to wherever the mic is?
Someone said it is on the PCB near the touch pad and front buttons, but I cannot see a hole or channelling to that area !!
Where IS that Mic physically located inside the case???
Any idea's anyone?

Replacement ear piece speaker / board?

Hi folks,
I think my ear piece speaker in the phone has packed up - no sound on a call from it! Headphones and BT headset work.
I cant find a replacement speaker part (it clips in to the front housing) - does anyone know where I might get one and maybe also the cable/board that controls it in case these are gone?
Many thanks
Ant
For info I found TechGSM had them.

Microphone not working after solving "MicroPError"

Hello,
My HTC Diamond on last week gets "MicroPError" and no backlight.
I dismounted the phone to clean the interior and fix the connections inside, after mountin it, the backlight was fixed and I was happy with it, because I could fix the problem on my phone, but when I make the first call, i realised that I fixed one problem and get another one.
So now, the problem on my phone is when I make or when I receive a call no one can hear me.
Can someone help me trying to fix my phone.
Best regards
Ya i can help you. The problem is the with the 2 golden hook like connectors.[ Near the camera ] You might have bend it in the process of cleaning.
To be specific , the top portion of the mobile when removed controls the speakers. You can easily spot the golden connector and make sure that it touches the upper metal connector when closing the top cover.
top cover is the one above the battery in this pic

Hello,
Thanks for your reply, but it didn't solve my problem, I checked what you said, and the connection is normal.
By the way this is not the connector for the speaker? My problem is not on the speaker, my problem is on the microphone.
My problem is not ear the others, but the other can't ear me on a phone call, so the problem is on the microphone, don't you agree?
Do you have another idea for this problem?
Best regards.

Check your microphone connections at the lower bottom . One with a black cap.
Hello again,
Can you please help me identifying the microphone.
Best regards
Hello again,
I checked it again, and the connections of the microphone sims to be fine.
I think the microphone itself is damaged, because I make another test.
I tryed to use the Voice Recorder, and found that if I talk normal on the recorder, when I play the sound, my voice is very low, almost not earable and a lot of noise, if I talk louder, when playing the sound my voice is already possible to ear, but also with a lot of noise, this is the reason for thinking that the problem is on the microphone. By the way, the black cap of the microphone falls down when I opened the phone for cleaning on the first time, is it normal.
If the problem is, as I think on the microphone, is it possible to replace the microphone, or it must be replaced the pc-board.
Best regards.

[Q] No sound- help

Possible solution
I had a problem with the internal speaker too and it turns out that when I connect the pin on the internal speaker closest to the vga camera with the panel the speaker work. So I soldered the spot where right pin (the one closest to the vga camera) of the speaker makes the contact with the board with the closest part that makes contact with the panel and there is no more problem with the internal speaker. My guess is that there is a problem with some connection and circuit can't be closed. I hope that you understand what I mean.
The problem is that I can't say that this won't lead to another problem. But until now I don't have any.

The bottom speaker dont work after changing housing

Hello,
I hope you can help me here.
I have changed the entire case from the htc one.
Since then the bottom speakers dont work.
I've checked all contacts and Pins.
A second microphone board and speaker but nothing work..
The bottom speaker dont work..
For testing,
I cut the wires from the speaker and connected it to the upper speaker.
Then it works perfectly ..
Is there a separate chip for the bottom speakers?
Or can someone give me the points on the main board to call him to solder directly?
Only one speaker is not really true.
Thanks!
Excuse me for my bad english

main microphone location

can somebody please tell me where the main microphone located on RP2? A photo will be even better. there was a pin hole on RP1 but this one does not have it. i presume mic is under the speaker cover somewhere.
