That is supposed to be the case. If not, would probably return it. I am going to request an unlock code from TMo soon after I get it.

Or the Wifi hotspot and USB tether app in the market. There's a free 24hr trial (it doesn't list the D3 as a supported device), but it works perfectly on my phone…Xbox, laptop, Galaxy Tab, and A500 all recognize the signal, and it never drops out. Worth the price for sure if you don't want to hack the radio.

Ok guys picked up my DROID 3 off of cl for 70 bucks. Should I flash it to metro or unlock it and use GSM? Is there a guide to get fully working 3g on metro? What about a guide to get gsm working? Thanks again for all of the help.

No metro uses Verizon and sprint cdma towers.
