[Q] Nookie Froyo Location Fix? - Nook Color General

Has anybody figured out a wifi based location fix for Nookie froyo? In maps, etc.
My 1.0.0 rooted system that is dual booted allows wifi locations, and I've tried to make Froyo play nice, but I haven't had any success even with altering xml files and dbs.
Any advice would be appreciated.

there is an app on the market called -My Fake Location- . might want to try that out

Newbie help for memory management & Gps

can anyone advise of the best method to enable installing apps to sd card as opposed to phone memory.
I have done some reading up, from what I can make out, my 2.2 is not rooted, apps need to have the option written into programming to enable where an app is stored, hence why the "move to sd" is greyed out.
I have read but not fully understood some apparent fixes, using sdk tools and apps2sd, but seen some errors reported, apps not working, unable to use marketplace etc. A mine field for those not in the know.
Last thing I want to do is mess things up, hence why I am asking you guys for help.
I am happy with most things on the Nexus, but as I am now out of phone memory, need to address this issue quickly. I have added a 16gb sd. Any help greatly appreciated.
Additionally, is it possible to use google based navigation systems offline and by gps? and when using third party gps, is it possible to use my external bluetooth gps receiver rather than the phone one? if so, how is this acheived please.
Root your phone, and learn how to use the Froyo apps2sd command.
No, Google Maps downloads the maps frame by frame -- read needs internet connection. (look into 3rd party applications if you don't have a data plan)
No, you have to use the phones GPS.
apps2sd, does that not have issues? I read there are issues with some apps not working, and also not being able to use marketplace

[Q] Missing market apps

Using a rooted NC with the 2.2 Market I'm not able to find certain apps such as NFS Shift, Jet Car Stunts and many others. I also have a Droid and I can get these apps by purchasing them on the Droid, locating the APK and then transferring them to the NC but I would really like to figure out how to get these apps to show up in the Market on the NC. I've edited the build.prop file about 20 different ways but I'm not having much luck. Has anyone else been able to figure this out?
I'm having the same issue and no luck finding an answer by searching. Apps like Forum Runner are not showing up. Anyone have a solution?

Bump
Sent from my Nook Color!!
Apps are available or filtered based on device type and locale. So, it is highly likely that the software you are looking for not showing because of that.
I went the build.prop editing route as well, to no avail. Have you tried nookie froyo marketplace yet? i didn't compare that, but i know our devices are listed as the same device there, and I'd be very curious to see if the same apps are filtered on nookie froyo...

Yeah the same apps are filtered there as well.
The market on the NOOKcolor, even if it looks like the new market, will only show applications that conform to the Android API 7 API level (2.1 and below). FroYo apps all conform to the Android API 8, so they won't show up on your nook unless you drop FroYo onto it.
The market automatically filters applications that may be "too much" for your device. Sideloading them is the only way around this limitation.

[A] How I fixed missing Market apps with Customized Nookie Froyo

Seen this posted in the DEV thread so I thought I'd put it out where others could find it easily. After loading Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 CWR, I could not find many apps in the Market. I had a difficult time...lots of things to "try", vague instructions, MarketEnabler didn't work, etc. I followed the instructions in this video and it worked. The first time it did not work, but the only thing I had to make sure I did was to set up the Market with my email accounts (I have two that are associated with my Market account) then I followed the video again and it worked great.

Nook App "No Search Results Found" - Froyo 2.2.1

Running Nookie Froyo v0.6.7 on SD w/2.6.29-omap1 kernel (overclocked to 1ghz) basically flawlessly.
One annoying thing: Can't search the nook shop for books. No matter what I search for I get the same "No Search Results Found"? B&N's suggestions and categories show up, side loading into library works and can read samples.
Any ideas?
Working: gapps / market / tweetdeck and other stuffs with geolocate. Amazon kindle app search works w/o issue. Tried purge and reinstall, with no luck.
Belongs to wife - she wants to buy books - any help would be *greatly* appreciated!
I get the same error running phiremod
Same Here
I am running Nookie 0.6.8 and I am getting the same error??? hopefully someone will have an idea?
Is it still not working? I know that B&N has been doing maintanence/upgrades to their servers which means at times the online bookstore is down. That usually happens late at night and in the morning it is fixed. Have you tried again today or do you think it is part of the ROM?

[Q] What am I missing?

Hello, I'm new to the forums and was just curious as to what I'm missing out on having just basic auto-nooter on my NC. Should I switch to Froyo or CM7? I use my NC as a reader mainly and for some games. Still trying to figure out how to load my psx roms correctly.

If you're happy, you're not missing anything. installing Froyo or CM7 allows for things such as Flash (both games and videos), more customization, and a few apps that only run on android 2.2 and above. Really, if you're using stock (even without a launcher) and you're happy, stick with it. A lot can go wrong (although nothing permanent, for the most part) and builds are not yet as stable as stock rooted.
