Amosher, any chance you could post the wallpaper? I feel like that would go awesome with the themed clock.
i Think its this bro
That's the wallpaper alright, unfortunately the attached image is only 240x240
**** -_- anyways
just google "nexus s wallpaper"
it'll be in the pictures section theres a bunch im sure you'll find the right size
Just gonna make it available to you if you want to add it, but I have a version of the honeycomb font available to better fit in with the theme of this app. Included is the font, titled Clockopia.ttf which is placed in DeskClock.apk\assets\fonts\Clockopia.ttf (overwriting the old one) and a modified desk_clock_time_date.xml that goes in DeskClock.apk\res\layout\desk_clock_time_date.xml (both of these should be able to be simply dropped into the apk as though it were a zip file).
The font is one I made using fontcreator from the files available in the honeycomb sdk preview and the modified xml decreases the size of the text just a little (to about 80 dpi) because any bigger and the AM/PM marks start getting cut off.
Also, this font can also be placed in your /system/fonts/ folder (overwriting the other Clockopia.ttf) to change the font on your lockscreen to match. I can only confirm this with AOSP Tap Lock though.

thats cool, can you attach the file or send it to me and i'll update the OP, the one with at least the xml in the apk, thanks
Hey, that widget looks awesome.
But does the background circles move every second?
I thought it did in the actual Honecomb build.
Maybe not.

no its just the gingerbread clock apk with theming/pngs from the honeycomb sdk. so it doesnt move in seconds but does look pretty cool, lol.
I have included one that seems to be working on my phone just fine (didn't upload my original as it's actually based on the clock from the Liberty 1.5 ROM for the Droid X and wasn't mine to distribute, only included my personal changes--like font/layout). After putting this apk in /system/app it shows up with the honeycomb font and properly sized

Another Hero theme. This one has a few things from my Aero theme. This is still considered a "work in progress" as I will still be adding things to it.

heh, nice, I did the exact same thing a while ago because tehseano's launcher is so broken. Have you noticed you can do a wipe with your launcher and it will still shrink the clock instead of throwing the phone into loops?
Good job. BTW, it looks better if you use the tinted launcher.
where can i get that wallpaper? i was looking through the theme file and i cant seem to find it..
if he's using it (i wouldn't know because i havent even downloaded it), it should be inside Launcher.apk/res/drawable
love the theme. Are there any plans on tweaking the search widget so that it's only one line? The other Hero themes remove the "g" on the left of the search to get a little more room.
Keep up the great work.
the wallpaper isn't there (launcher or framework-res), so I'm guessing he only used it for the mock-up. It's a nice wallpaper, please make it available.
Also, checking the launcher I noticed you DID use the tinted tab, nice. to keep more with the Hero-theme, you might want to change the blue glow on _pressed to green.

I didn't want to port to 3.6.8.1 because I had a feeling another CM update would be out, and there was...I will port to 3.6.8.2 soon(sometime today).
i dont see a 3.6.8.2...?
Anyway, I have a question. Were there any changes that you know from 3.6.7.2 to 3.6.8.1 (1.5r2 to 1.5r3) at services.jar and android.policy.jar? I reworked 3.6.8.1's framework-res.jar, but needed the white status notifications, so I just pulled both jars to my version and it worked, and everything seemed ok, but i wonder if both files are the same, or there were any changes (permissions, etc, or what do those jars do?)
Exactly what ROMs does this work for?

Hey all, I created a dark themed version of open eclair 1.2.1 baconweave.
This is a full rom so you will need to do a full wipe before flashing.
I created this by pulling some icons from Xrom and editing the classes.dex file.
I did not build this rom so thanks to the open eclair team for an excellent 2.1 rom and I would also like to thank Justanothercrowd for the icons i pulled from his rom.
As this is my first shot at themeing I only changed the framework-res.apk and services.jar. So, this is not a full theme.
If you are already running open eclair 1.2.1 an easy way to apply my changes would be to extract the framework-res.apk and services.jar from my zip and adb push them to the appropriate locations on your mobile.
I will most likely not be updating this as it suits my needs.
I made a couple other changes to this rom.
-removed gallery3d.apk
-fixed bluetooth issue when pairing both handsfree and media audio.
As always I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device....

How did you change the notification bar? I know how to change the png's but not the whole thing to make it look black =(

The only real editing I did was to change the text color to white. The rest was simply replacing the existing PNG's with the ones I pulled from justanothercrowd's Xrom dark ROM.
An easy way to see what PNG's are what is to extract them from the framework-res.apk and view them as thumbnails. I can't remember what other files I edited. When I get home I can retrace my steps and give more info later.
yeah I mean I can do that too. But most of the time when I try to make all the png's on the notification bar black, they just pop up as black squares on a white surface =/
EDIT: I think I found out how. the name of the png that changes the notification bar color is activity_title_bar.9.png right?

Ahh I see what you are saying the color of the notification background when you pull the notification bar down. Yes I believe that is the correct PNG.
EDIT: If you are trying to edit what I think you are the correct PNG would be these PNG's

wrong info he gave you. the tabs he showed you and that you are looking for are known as status_bar_item_background_normal.9, status_bar_item_background_focused.9, and status_bar_item_background_pressed.9.
the activity_title_bar.9, which he thought was the correct png, is actually where it reads the words "Ongoing" and "Notifications" which is the activity_title_bar.9
anyway, hope that helps clarify things for you guys .
Oh ok thanks man almost got everything confused lol
Beautiful,man.
I came from SuperD-dark, and this is a perfect transition
Since you've tweaked it to meet your needs, I'll take it upon myself to do some other graphical tweaks (like smoothing out the notifications graphics. Too "sharp" for my taste).
I recently have been trying to create a theme for the T-Mobile Theme Chooser that comes with CM7. I pulled the cyanbread apk and extracted it and just began to replace the images with my own, until I came across some indexed images. Basically when I open these in photoshop it turns all the alpha transparencies to opaque.

Obviously I can't work with this.
Is there a template or something that I can work with? Or an easier way? I'm basically just taking the best parts of a couple themes and putting them together, and editing the colors. I'm not smart enough with xml to write code from scratch.
Thanks.
I use gimp. It has a setting to change the mode from "indexed" to "RBG" or "greyscale".
When I run into those, I open them in pixlr.com (a free image editor that pretty much ignores permissions), save them, then re-open in Photoshop.

Thanks man, helped a ton.
Unfortunantly I keep running into speedbumps, anyone mind helping me here?
I have two themes at the moment, mine and another one. The other one replaces the widget icons in the notification bar. I like those much better than the stock cm7 ones. The problem is is that I can't just drag them and drop them from drawable folder from theirs to mine, as I'm assuming the XML in mine doesn't have any code to tell that image where to go.
How would I go about editing the xml file(s) to add support for theming of these icons? I have never really touched xml before, plus I haven't had any success finding how to edit any of the xml's in the apk.
Leave xml alone just drag and drop

Problem is is that the apk I'm using as a template does a ton of stuff I don't want it to, but some stuff I do.
Like it reskins the whole browser and shrinks the pop-up menu when you hold your finger on the home screen. I don't want this, and just deleting the images doesn't solve the problem because I get errors while compiling.
The only thing I really want is the ability to skin notification bar widget icons (toggle wifi, gps, etc). Haven't had much luck finding themes that do.
You still need to resign a theme.apk after replace new png files!
What key do you sign it with?
I've got a couple themes up and running right.now and would be happy to help. Do you use Linux, Mac, or windows? Do you have decompiled Apk's that you're working with or are you editing compiled ones?
With theme *.apk file, I can only replace the existing icons, then use apk manager to sign, i cannot add new icons into it!

Hey there, here is my touch wiz theme for iPhone today, if you like it i'll upload files. Because i'm running german rom i have to change first all paths to the pictures .
It will work as today plugin or as standalone. Tested only on WVGA.
Here are the screens

So far I assigned home to open startmenu, of course you can change every icon.
How to install
1. Install iphone Today (Disable it as today plugin) Download
2.Download attached *.zip
3. Copy icons.xml and settings.xml to iPhone today folder in Program Files
4.Copy Clockopia.tff and LSDroidSans.ttf to Fonts in the Windows Directory
5.Copy GS icons folder, sgs2icons folder and extra icons folder to iPhonetoday/icons
6.Place walls folder in iPhonetoday/backgrounds
7. Open iphonetoday and customize it like you want it to be
If you dont see the icons but the names either you put them in the wrong directory or its my fault Then you have to do it manually .
Nice icons for additional stuff you can get here: Faenza Icons
Have fun
Tip: If you want to get rid of the statusbar in today plugin use nueNobar
If you have nice backgrounds or something else to share, do it !
wow.. looks great.. I have touch pro 2. I want to test it. When you want to upload the files?

Can we also add an analogue clock?
How to change the time format to 12 hours?
This looks good & its faster!
Basing on this pretty good theme for Iphone Today and using galaxy nexus icons + wallpapers I made something like this. It would be really great if there will be possibility to change digital clock for analog one ??
Wow So cool
I love it Thanks You
This is great!I am going to try these steps! This really looks good & its faster!
does it work on omnia i900??
Yep it does. It's really nice, quick and pretty easy to customize.
How do you change the clock format? It's in the 24hr format and I prefer the 12hr format with the am/pm. Thanks. Other than that, it's quite nice!

Vishnu, to change clock to 12 hour format, you need to edit the "settings.xml" file. On your computer, open settings.xml with Notepad; look for this line:
<Clock facename="Clockopia" color="#E6E6E6" width="75" height="100" weight="1000" left="-300" top="0" right="-300" bottom="0" ShowAMPM="0" format12="0" />"
Here you want to change the format12="0" to read format12="1"
Now, save the file. On your phone, exit out of iphonetoday then copy the newly edited file to your phone's iphonetoday folder, overwriting the one that is there. Restart iphonetoday and you should have clock in 12 hour format. Now, if you also want the am/pm signs, do the same thing...change "0" to "1". BUT, if you do that, you will need to either alter your clock size as it will be off the screen or move it over. That, I'm not sure how to do. I recommend skipping the am/pm unless you really need it for some reason. Hope this helps.
This is something that has annoyed me ever since getting into themeing. But I have never seen it mentioned on any forum until now, as to why what I explain here happens.
So you flash a new rom and everything is peachy and looks a little like the cap below. Clock, am/pm, and date are in the right spot.

*image pulled from google
But I have always hated that clock font. So the next step is to flash a theme or one of the 300 flash able font packs in hopes of getting rid of the annoying clock font.
*images pulled from google
WTF!!! happen to the placement of my clock and date is what you're thinking. Why did the date drop? Why is the am/pm off line with the clock now? And you just settle for it because it's cooler than the original font anyway.
But I didn't want to just settle. So it appears that the original clockopia ttf file is formated differently than your average ttf font file. And it has been a common practice to take your favorite font and rename it clockopia and push to device. But that's where the placement of fonts on the lock screen becomes skewed.
So this is where a font editor comes in to play. You can see the "real" clockopia font opened at the top and DroidSans opened at the bottom. I simply took all like characters (0~9 :,a,m,p) from the DroidSans font and placed within the clockopia ttf. Once saved and pushed to device. I had finally overcome the little annoyance of using custom fonts without a "properly" edited clockopia ttf.
*personal caps of my result
You can see the end result of the clockopia ttf being edited on the right. Hope this helps anyone understand why things get skewed with using "average" ttf font files to replace clockopia.
good day.
Awsome post
I didn't understand all of that, and hopefully one day I will. But I definitely can appreciate the work and dedication to detail involved. Great job.

The program I used was "High Logic Font Creator" neighbor at work (print shop) let me use his computer to edit up a couple. I even did a honeycomb theme but didn't like how wide and short the actual honeycomb clock font was. That program allows you to edit each characters height/width so I ended up with the honeycomb font in the standard "phone" font size. Not sure about other program options though.
good day.
Thanks. Playing with a Fontographer for Mac trial.
The modified Honeycomb font looks good, btw.
