okay so i know this might be answered somewhere already but i have not found an answer so i thought i would ask here i have a hero running AOSP GB and i wanna know if i can have my bluetooth speakerphone pick up the phone book on the phone for some reason i cant figure it out so i thought i would ask on here maybe its a setting or something i am missing ?

Ok i got a mp4 video, i set it as ringtone with rightclick, at ringtone settings its saying video allso. But if someone calls, its only playing the sound from it, and not the video itself
Anyone got any idea how this can be fixed or what im doing wrong?

Person claims they somehow flashed Cyanogen's ROM the flashed Hero Over 1.1 and now you have Dream/G1 with working BT. Has anyone confirmed this is possible, or is this just some garbage?

From what I've read of the bluetooth/hero scenario, it doesn't sound plausible.. but I didn't watch the video cos I couldn't tolerate the repulsive music or the inabality to FOCUS HIS F*CKING CAMERA!!
I also don't see how it's possible to flash hero-over directly over CM, unless hero-over doesn't format the system partition as part of the flash process.. but I'd imagine that would cause all sorts of problems... This smells of horse **** to me, but we'll see if he comes out with a workable process.
Over the course of who knows how long the devs have been able to show bluetooth as on, this however doesn't make it useful if you can't have it connect to anything

The poster of this video claims to have transferred files over it..
i was able to turn on bluetooth a while back on a hero rom .... but u cant connect to anything
people post fake vids all the time...
right now the only solution ive seen is what maxisma posted about flashing the 32a magic spl on the g1 (dont try this unless your super experienced and know what your doing [ie...if you dont know what 32a or spl, you shouldnt even consider it])

I went to the site and pointed out the fact that no one in XDA has come up with a working HERO in that sense and this guy must have SERIOUSLY brainwashed a few of these kids. One of them started emailing me hate mail and attacking me on Youtube just for questioning the situation.
There's another guy named ItsAnAndroidWorld who's got a video claiming the same thing only he never goes into the bluetooth and tries to turn it on.
I've been reading about using bttest and hcitools to get it working on a HERO rom but i didn't have much luck with HERO Sense. It must only work on a very specific HERO rom.
Yeah, i'm definitely with you guys because i've googled all over for an answer to the HERO rom problem with BT, and there are some possible solutions, but.....i'm not risking bricking my phone just to see if they're right.
I am having two problems
1st, when i am on the phone using speaker, sometimes people can no longer hear me (I can still hear them. It mostly happens when i open up different apps and also when i have a call waiting. This only hapens on speaker mode.
2nd probem is, I cannot send or recieve MultiMedia mesages. I can send/recieve reagular text just fine but no pic/video messages at all.

Your best bet is to either ask in his rom thread or ask NRG over twitter.
Ive asked in his thread and ive got no response. Another person also stated how they are having the exact same problem. Maybe the answer will come soon enough.
You need to ask in the Energy thread though, even if you're not getting an answer there (which I understand must be frustrating). If everyone started a new thread when they didn't get an answer in the relevant thread, then ...
I've searched for any information on this and I've found it's very limited.
Basically, I want to remove all phone-related things (that is, anything that will make a phone call) from my Captivate, basically turning it into an Android version of an iPod for my young son. I don't want him accidentally making emergency calls while playing around with an otherwise useful device that I just don't use anymore since I got my Infuse. I don't care about data or anything like that, since it's always on WiFi and never leaves the house.
If this has been answered somewhere else, I apologize for being ignorant and would just ask for a link to the right place.

This is my first post in this forums. They've been very useful to flash, check updates, etc and I've never had the necessity of posting anything since I've cleared mostly any doubt I've ever had about my Android devices. This time, after searching all over the forums and in several other sites over the net I haven't been able to find any solution to my problem. Let me expose it:
Few months ago after having flashed my device to different ROM's, my friends started to tell me that they couldn't hear me well during phonecalls. The sound was not clear enough. They could hear, the volume was ok, but the phonecall the sound call they would recieve was not well.
I thought that this would be related to the hardware, maybe the mic was broken, because once I was thrown into a swimmingpool and I saved my phone by putting it into a jar with rice and letting it rest for few days. However, I have used other programs such as Skype and done the test phonecall so I could hear myself and it went verywell compared to call recorder app tests or regular call, the sound was much better. So I guess that the microphone is still okay and the problem is related to a setting issue that haven't been changed with flashing to different ROMS.
I've been running several ROMS, most of them based in CM7 and I'm now back to the latest stock ROM for America (2.3.5) and the problem is the same.
Any advice will be very apprecciated!

Actually, nothing of the posted above has worked out. If its a software problems how changing hardware would work?
if its still there is a problem after flashing stock one...than its probably your mic need replacement..!

I just cant figure how the mic works well with skype and not with phonecall and how changing de mic would fix it
