Im having a problem theming pop up background colors. For example if you hot the menu button in the browser, you get new windows bookmark etc... the background I have for that is black with white text. However if I hit the more option? It brings up a new pop up menu with the same blavk background but now the text is black and I can't see it.
So my question is what file is it to change that background and where or where is the. Xml file to change that font color to white? Thanks!

Thanks, but I didn't find what I was looking for in that topic.
I'm pretty sure that's either in resources.arsc or services.jar in system/framework/framework-res.apk...I can't remember what sub folder it was maybe values/styles...you will have to decompile them using apktool or some other tool that uses smali /baksmali ... hope this points you in the right direction.

Alright so im trying to mod the htccontacts.apk
i want to be able to hit the people icon and when it pulls up and u can see all of ur contacts the background is all in white. I want to be able to change the backround color to blue or red.
Ive pulled the apk and checked out the drawable and drawable - mdpi files and have replaced a few of the files with blue versions and when i flash the app to phone again and hit people icon it shows up blue while loading but the when the contacts load up they are white again. any idea to what im missing...

thanks. i was looking through the godzson blue package. trying to pull from there and copy to contacts but no full go. got it to work on my dialer which im uploading here also. but not in contacts

well id like to know how to do it myself. so i can change the color to what ever. i know how to go in and replace files in apk's and stuff just need to know what files to change. in people. pretty much in all of the menues of people.

yeah i have gtalk. just add @gmail to screen name. ur friend helped me through gtalk and i was able to get it changed i think. putting it into zip now

yeah that was a no go. still lookin. didnt u fix the black backround in the last sprint build. do u remember how that was fixed so that the background can be fixed to use different colors

mostly every background is black and text is white,except

I hate to bring this old thread up again. But, does anyone have an answer?
It seems that the menu background for some common applications like "Root Explorer" or "Droid Analytics" does not change properly with the theme. Instead, it shows a white menu with white text.
My entire device is completely Gingerbread themed based off of the stock framework-res. But, these menus are totally messed up. White text on white menus. Should be white text on black transparent menus.
I might be way off: But have you guys tried changing the color in the .XML file/s?

I changed the colors for menus within framework-res.apk res/values/styles.xml. All other menus system-wide work fine. Every other application menu works fine.
Which XML are you thinking about?

I was thinking maybe changing color codes in Root Explorer's XML might help. But I don't know.

Oh yeah I thought about that. But, since I'm creating this theme for a ROM used by hundreds of people, I'd rather not have to theme these external applications.
Someone's got to know the answer to this problem!

Please post your modded SMS Unread Count apk's and requests here! To install a modded version, uninstall the Market version and then install the downloaded .apk from your favorite file manager.
You can add your custom icons for use with SMS Unread Count by placing them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".

No, but I can tell you that the highlight is a .9 png in the res/drawable folder.

I would like to see this widget with only the digit visible, no bubble, no outer ring or glass effect.
I have posted on the "Transparent widget skins" thread -->here but I think quite heavy coding is required. Only managed to remove the glass effect of the bubble.
There is a work around for this using Minimalistic text and Tasker, so it is not a problem for me, but would be nice to see a free and easier alternative.
Also, it will require some digging in the "Post your screen shot" threads but the black bubble mod is there somewhere.
Here's a gold one and orange one, although they are very similar.
Okay, I've figured out how to mod the bubble color, but I can't figure out the text color.
Here's pink with white text and black with white text.
Transparent might be tough, because the bubble is RGB and not ARGB, so there is no alpha value control transparency.
I'll keep trying for for text color and transparency.

Install them like any regular app. If you already have SMS Unread Count on your phone, it should just update with the new color.

I have the same question. Put them in the folder mentioned in the settings. But the icons dont show up in the icongallery of the widget.

The folder you need is a subfolder of the data folder on the SD card. You should put them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".
If it doesn't exist, create it.

Which file is it that I need to change in order to make the colour back to blue in the atached image?
In the old firmware the colour in the toggle was blue, now after updating it is white. It is also the same in the contacts/dialer/favourite contacts screen when scrolling left to right between them. Any help would be great as I really want to change it back.

its in the framework im pre sure its xml or smali idk but the themes are just stupid overlays without them its white so im pre sure in frameworks it has origional theme overlay and it makes everything white:silly:

Regardless of the Sony theme selected my toggles stay constant, that's the switch and switch background.
Ive never seen toggles in contacts etc so im assuming you mean something else, tab selected maybe?

No probs.
If you have no Sony themes installed then it will be controlled by the default theme (framework/re/drawable-xhdpi/semc_)
If you do have Sony themes then the overlay you need to change is in **Theme.apk/res/valus/color.xml

I just edited BlackTheme.apk to "ff0000ff" for display purposes.
I managed to fix it.
I had deleted the semc_theme_wallpaper.jpg from
system/etc/customisation/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/walpapers
so the theme was not being applied correctly. Once i restored it i know have the blue back

It was probably error-ing out and returning to the default theme.

Yeah I just forgot to upload theme file and screenshots of the theme because i was also busy in preparing for my biology test.....
Now i have uploaded both the theme file and screenshots.
Looks nice but in drop down menu could be original white bckgrownd? ? as I don't see icons quite
Edit ; I like it but is there chance that u can leave dialer(green) untouched with sms (green) and untouched notif. menu (white) untouched ?

The icons are whitish and they disappear in white background.
Actually when you touch the icon to turn on a specific feature...it becomes more bright and more visible. I have kept the text of toggles bright white so they are always more visible and comfortable to look.
But I will thibk what should I do to make toggle icons more viewable.

I have blended both wallpapers ( previous one and yours ) and result is ....
I have blended them so as too keep background relative to theme.

For thicker signal bars I think I require systemui.apk from emui2.3. Then I can change them in the upcoming weekend.
