[Q] Messaging FC's Constantly

I'm on the Motorola Droid using the BuglessBeast ROM and I've noticed an error that occurs where my text messenger will FC and when I try to reopen it, it won't open and force closes instantly. I have to restart my phone every time this happens and I don't know what's going on. I want to uninstall and reinstall it but I couldn't find it in the market. it's the stock text messenger that comes with the US phone. Anyone have information for me?

I could really use some assistance with this issue, anyone have any ideas? please!

For testing I would try a different txt app to, handcent is very good and u may like it more than the stock one. If you don't want to use a different app then I would flash the Rom or do a nandroid restore if u have a recent back up. Good luck.

I just re-installed the rom, I'm testing it now to see if it worked.

If still having problems you can try to fix the permissions. Should be in bb tool box. The other thing is I had this problem with chevyno1 v4.6 and gmail app. I extracted the app rom the rom zip and deleted it in the system/app folder with root explorer. Then rebooted and reinstalled with app extracted to sdcard by running the apk installer. It work after that. No more FCs.

Actually if I remember in the bb tool box you can enable godmode. That will allow you to edit the system/app folder without root explorer. You can use any file explorer if you don't have root explorer or don't want to pay for it.

apparently in BB tools, there is a way to delete mms and re-install it, it allowed me to start my messaging without having to restart my phone (the only way I could get messaging to work after fc) appreciate the help there guys, seems like it may work this time, crossed fingers

[Q] Putting apps in system/apps by root explorer doesn't work

Hi, I have been flashed the CM6.1, and just now i tried to use root explorer to install some modded widget by the putting them in system/apps method. But it doesn't work anymore. After i have put the .apk there, i go to the add widget page and i can't found that specific widget. It works perfectly when i am using my stock 2.1 rom. Can anyone give some possible solution? Appreciate it so much !

Do you set the permissions correctly?
Do you restarted the phone after past the apk in system/app?

I guess you have to reboot and then click on the apk through root explorer and select install also before they appear on the menu.

Oh yes. You guys have figured out the problem. I didn't set the permission correctly therefore it doesn't work.

Calendar app not working.

So I just installed Gingerbread JVH on my phone. Deleted all the useless apps out using Root Explorer but I ran into a problem.
I cant open the default calendar app. It force closes.
I guess I removed something I should not have removed.
In my system/app folder I still have:
-TouchwizCalendar.apk
-TouchwizCalendar.odex
So it has to be something else that causes the problem. Anyone know which file and maybe can upload it for me?

EDIT: did some more research, I think I'm missing the Calendarprovider.apk.
Could someone maybe upload it for me from JVH or JVO?

[Q] Temasek ROM Car Mode

Hello everybody,
After flashing my phone with Temasek ROM RC1-87, i got problem with Car Mode. I can not really remove it, because ether i could not find it with file manager and there is no such app in application menu, not even in titanium backup with superuser rights.
It pop up very often, when i am answering my call, even walking. Just random pop up in phone top bar. Then i need to slide it down and lick it to close. I could not even turn it on, because there is no such app in my phone, but somehow it turns on. It is very annoying, because if i answer my phone call and it pop up, then speaker turns on, or for example i am surfing the net and it pops up, when i click it to close my web browser closes.
Maybe someone have the same issue? How could i remove it for lifetime .. My phone is rooted and full wiped. I did all the wipes in CWM. I tried only Temasek's ROM, so maybe it's it fault? Thank you for your answers.
P.s. I had the same problem in my stock kernel/rom, the only difference was that then the app showed up in screen and i needed to click EXIT. I get rid of it uninstalling with titanium back up back then. Now it does not work.

But seriously, how could that be even possible. There is no car home/mode*.apk, or i can not find it, there is no such app in titanium backup, there is no such app in applications menu and so on... Maybe there is some FULL WIPE or something..

Tried to use System Toolbox app, could not find any Car app.. I noticed before on other ROM that it appeared after installing gapps! Please someone, let me know how to get rid of that evil app

yes there is. goto applications "running services", its not under running but its under "ALL". u goto it and u cannot click stop / etc. cause its not running. atleast on mine anyway. .87

If you are using my 2.3.7 gapps, there are 2 apks that you need to remove from /system/app in order to remove Car Home. They are as follows:-
CarHomeGoogle.apk
CarHomeLauncher.apk
Try finding it and delete it. If you still couldn't find it, I can make a simple flashable zip for you to remove the above 2 files from /system/app

I tried Super Manager,System Toolbox, stock file manager, non of them show that there are such files like CarHomeGoogle.apk or CarHomeLauncher.apk. I am looking at system/app/. Is that even possible? Could you make a zip for me? Oh and i did not install any gapps, just wiped my phone, installed your rom and that was it.

ive got it there. can see it in ALL (*not running)
i can browse to system/apps/ theres 2 there. cannot delete.
says error deleting file (permisions or something) what program can definatley delete these files?

im trying to replace my camera app with another camera app with no shutter sound i can successfully remove the stock camera app with titanium but when i try to install the no shutter sound camera app ..comes up application not installed ....this happens with any stock app i try to replace ..how can i fix this ...thanks
my firmware is rooted stock v20j

deleting the ogg files from arccamera.apk will be solution?

Noob just copy the files to system/app then change the permission accordingly reboot and enjoy.

worked perfect for the camera thanks ..now is there anyway i can overwrite some of the apps or somehow remove the protection on them so i can install and not get the error message application not installed

no answers? there must be a way to remove stock app permissions so it can be overwritten with better apps without application not installed error

uninstall with titanium back up, then install the app with the procedure I told you.

that worked perfect for camera apk .i wanted to remove permissions on other app like skype and stuff which i get same error .i want to install better versions but gets same error application not installed ..can i do other apps same way as camera app?also phone app has video call on v20o but my version v20j i dont have that feature..do anyone have version v20o phone app??and can it be replaced?
