Hello,
I tried to install the DSP Manager on my Nexus One 2.2.1 Stock rooted.
But the clockworkmod recovery aborts the install when I install this zip file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7999651&postcount=7
It says that the zip file is not compatible with the Clockworkmod recovery 3.0 Gingerbread based.
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.

Does anyone have an idea/a solution ?
Best regards,

[EDIT]
The issue is resolved, I needed to go back to an older version of clockworkmod recovery.
repack it with an edify updater-script

Thank you but I downgraded my Clockworkmod and it worked.
interesting, so the DSD audio app can function on stock ROM without and custom edits to any ROM files? or does it only need root access (obviously) to be able to hook into the appropriate part of the OS in order to function...
i always thought special changes were made in cyanogen for DSD audio to work...

I have a stupid question, since Chainfire can modify the kernal with 2e recovery, is it possible to use ClockWorkMod recovery to replace the stock recovery directly?
Koush said:
I will probably not create a permanent recovery method, because of the way Samsung handles boot and recovery partitions: they are both contained in the same kernel. So, by creating a recovery image, I would have to replace the boot kernel, and then other devs would not be able to do future kernel tweaks unless they included Clockwork in their kernel.
Furthermore, if someone is using a custom kernel, and I want to upgrade Clockwork, it would overwrite any custom changes they had in their kernel (overclocking, or whatever else). Fakeflash is perfectly acceptable and preferred for the Samsung Galaxy S.
I will of course provide new fakeflash zips for the Galaxy S as I fix bugs and add features.

That should suffice as to why there isnt a permanent recovery yet.
There is a way because Modaco has released a Rom with Clockworkrecovery as the default recovery.. ;D But i don`t no how it works ;D
That is possible, yes.
I can't remember the exact name, but I saw a German Guy on Twitter who replaced the stock recovery with ClockWorkMod on our Galaxy S.
Was it Aery...?

Download the OTA package here
Rename it to update.zip, and place it on the root of your internal storage
Shut down your phone, and reboot into the bootloader by holding volume up and powering back on
Choose "recovery" from the list, and select it with the power button
When you see the red triangle press volume up and choose to update

IF YOU ARE ON CWM:
Just got an Android 2.3.1 update for Nexus S. It's on ROM manager if you want it. Make sure you flash recovery 3.0.
Also, for this to work you must be on Stock Recovery. This will not flash properly if you are using clockwork recovery

Correct. Koush is currently looking at fixing this for CWM.
Can we try to update and flash the zip using adb?
This was just tweeted:

edit nevermind got update
I just got prompted OTA for this update. Anyone know it I was to accept it, would I have any problems since I changed my recovery to ClockWork recovery?
I know it's been said it's on rom manager now, I am just curious if there would be any potential problems of accepting OTA updates with the stock recovery gone.
I have cwm recovery flashed and looked in Rom manager but is getting that "the rom you are using does not support ota updates etc" How did you manage to get Rom manager to update it to GRH78??
ive tried every way listed on xda but still get a "error 7" when trying to flash the update. i am using stock rom with clockwork 3.0. anyone having the same issue or any way to fix it?
usb disabled?
Got the message from Google to update. So I let it do its thing, said unable to update zip and now seems my usb connection is broken. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm on NS despite my sig Also on CWR 3.0 unlocked

Well there is very little info in OP
and could be worded little better to avoid confusion
You have to put on Wifi and go to download ROM for some reason if you on on mobile network it wont show the update in rom manager
Dont bother it wont. From what i gathered we have to wait for modified version
Download the zip, choose to open with rom manager and it will flash fine with cw recovery 3.0.0.

Got great news! I got it to work! All I did was put the .zip file on the root of my sd and used Rom manager to "download rom" chose the .zip file and voila!! It installed everything fine. I am officially on GRH78. Hope that helps people out!
is this with the paid version or non-paid?
the CWM update will work of you have not used Koush's rooboot.img and are running a the rooted boot.img.
He said he will release a version later tonight that should work with rootbootimg installed as well.
glad im on stock recovery + root.
Does anyone know how I can revert my current CWM 3.0 back to an earlier version? 3.0+ doesn't support flashing zips in recovery.
Thanks

Did not see this at all.
Thanks!
I tried flashing a newer radio earlier through recovery (update.zip), but it would say something about not being able to do it anymore (forgot the exact phrasing). Something about Edify scripting and Gingerbread.
The newer ClockworkMod recoveries have dropped support for the old Amend scripted .zip files is all.

So we shouldn't update CWM recovery to the lastest version to flash roms or make backups? Rather stick with an older version from the bottom of the menu?
Ive been keeping with an older version but just want some clarification if i can update to lastest CWM version?
Depends. Most newer updates are being made in Edify now (install-binary & updater-script), so you'll mostly be OK.
But if you do want to use things with Amend then it's either older CWM or Amon Ra recoveries for you.
It says that i need to update a script or something and something about android 1.5. I'm currently on the cm 7 nightly #21. I've tried various sense roms like fresh rom 2.4, espresso hero, etc. If i go to rom manager, it says the clockworkmod recovery is 2.5.0.7 even though it says 3.0.0.5 if i go to recovery. Don't really know what to do so if you know what to do, please reply.

Those ROMs must be using amend scripts and the latest recovery uses edify. There are a few things you could do:
1. Flash an older recovery - CWM 2x or RA 1.x and then flash the ROM
2. Update the scripts to edify and then flash the ROM

I'm getting errors trying to flash every version besides 2.5.1. How do i kill 3.0.0.5 and replace it? Its weird since on rom manager, it says I'm on 2.5.0.7 but when i actually go to recovery, its says its 3.0.0.5.
I don't have any problems flashing sense . Id try uninstalling and installing again from market not through TB.

In Rom Manager scroll down to the bottom and select flash alternate recovery then scroll to the top and select flash Clockwork Mod recovery. Should be good to go after that

Use method 2 from the ROMRepo. The only difference is is that if you have the latest ROM Manager, the folder that has the newest recovery image will be mirror.kanged.net. That's how I'm able to flash the different images. Edit the recoveries in that folder.
It wont allow me to post the link so just grab it from the OP of the aospCMod ROM.

I don't like flashing Sense roms from CW and my phone doesn't either. Usually what I'll do is since I'm on CW 3.0.1.9 I just make a backup of what I want to keep on my PC, wipe everything including the /recovery option and flash RA's recovery. For ME, it seems to work better these days. Many months ago when my Hero was still fresh I could flash everything. At least it overclocks to 807 without an issue.
Oh btw, if you run a google for "RA recovery heroc" you'll find it. Info on flashing a recovery is everywhere within XDA, after a while you just remember these things
Looks like the official CWM is here, go grab it

There's one problem with it (at least for me)
Trying to make a backup from inside ROM Manager reboots the phone, starts CWM but stops at the error: "Error mounting /system"...
Anyone got it working?
Just download it from the market. The recovery works fine.
Also getting "can't mount /system", so, guess it's kind of useless then.
I just tried a work-around for the "can't mount /system"-error ^^
I used this nice Easy Recovery Installation kit with Paul's CWM first version and now it works from inside ROM Manager!
Easy Recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042243

EDIT:
At least now we can use the automatic backup function of ROM Manager ^^
The only thing that bugs me is that you can't manage nor see the backups you made because ROM Manager looks on the internal "SD-Card"-Partition...
PS: I'm on MoDaCo Vanilla ROM posted on this forum... This one => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021803

EDIT
I think the best would be to use the "Manual Flash Override" Setting in the advanced MENU in ROM Manager (the popup one, by pressing the "Menu" button in the main screen of ROM Manager) and choose a ClockWorkMod version 3.x.x.x since Paul's CWM is 3.0.1.4 r1
CWM Recovery 3.0.2.7
I have no problems (any) with CWM recovery flashed from ROM Manager. Current vertion of CWM rec is 3.0.2.7. Just have sucsessfully backed up all ROM from inside of ROM Manager.
