[Q] Clockwork Recovery question

I installed Rom Manager and chose backup current rom. It installed ClockworkMod Recovery and successfully made a backup. I need to know two things and I couldn't find how.
First of all, when I use 3 button combination to boot into recovery I see the default 2e recovery screen, nothing new. Is this normal? My device had 3 button combinations disabeld and I used 3-button combo fix to fix it.
Second, how can I remove/uninstall Clockwork Recovery? I want to keep the phone as original/intact as possible if it needs to go to service.
Normaly the Clockworkmod create a Update.zip and when u go into the recovery Mod and choose apply update.zip he loads the clockworkrecovery..! Hope this was your Question...!

You mean every time I need to run Clockworkmod Recovery I need to run its update.zip at normal recovery?
There are 2 Ways to get into The Clockwork Recovery
1. Over the Rom Manager (but i think there u also must apply the update.zip)
2. Apply Update Zip in "normal" Recovery..
And yeah you must apply it every Time u want to get into this Recovery..
Well that clears up how to uninstall it, no need for it
Thanks for the help.

[Droid] Cant boot into Recovery. Triangle w/ cell phone

I rooted my phone using the SuperOneClickMethod and then installed ROM Manager and flashed clockwork mod recovery onto my phone. After this i tried to backup and install a new rom onto my phone and when i would do that it woudlnt allow me to backup and it wouldnt let the rom install. it would just bring me to a recovery screen and i would have to reboot my phone. i tried unrooting, formatting the SD card, doing a system wipe and then trying it all over again and now when i try to boot into recovery it just shows a trangle with a cell phone laying down next to it. it doesnt let me do anything i have to pull my battery to reboot it and then it goes back to normal. What do i do to fix this?
PS: my Volume Up is broken so i cant even attempt to boot into stock recovery.
If you can't enter on recovery.
I think you will need to install the original ROM, just using RSD lite.
Or search for froyo version if don't need base.

Cyanogen Mod v7 question

I installed the AWESOME Cyanogen v7 ROM, which makes the Nook an even nicer experience than the stock rooted ROM. I got into a bit of trouble though and had to do a restore and reinstall. I went into ROM Manager, and choose "Reboot into recovery" which brought me into Clockwork Recovery. I could not get out! Every time I rebooted, I ended up back in and could not for the life of me figure out how to boot back into normal Cyanogen. Is this a bug, or did I miss something?
Thanks
Nick
Run the file I attached from a CWR bootable Sd card.
(It might work just from the normal cwr, but im not sure)
It will remove your CWR install.
Then it should boot back into cm7.
AFAIK, people are having this issue when they dont reboot after flashing cwm, then trying to go into recovery immediately after flashing.
No idea why it does this, but try rebooting the nook before trying to go into recovery once you flash it again in Rom Manager.

[Q] How to download clockworkmod and install while offline?

Hello.
ROM manager is unable to download clokworkmod recovery. Maybe because I'm in a "sanctioned country" CUBA and I have a lot of internet restrictions from both Google and my ISP.
My question is: Can I manually download clokworkmod recovery and copy it on the SD card and have ROM manager install it?
If the answer is yes: How? and where do I find Clockworkmod for the captivate?
i897 stock 2.1.1 rooted and unlocked.
Thanks.

all rom manager does is put this zip file on your sdcard. its not needed.
just drop this on the root of your sdcard, reboot to recovery and reinstall packages twice. CWM will come up then

the one caveat to this ... make sure you have the 2e boot loader when you boot into recovery. The 2e bootloader is the stock bootloader that comes with froyo. 3e will require you to have the update packages signed, and therefore will need to downgrade to 2e before you can switch to CWM.

Wrong.
2e RECOVERY comes from firmware 2.1, which the OP stated he was on. Froyo comes with 3e recovery. Has nothing to do with bootloader, because the bootloaders are the same between eclair and Froyo.

GREAT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Working, one more question. I noticed three things:
1 - If I reboot to recovery again it goes into stock recovery (2e). Then I hit reinstall packages only once and ClockWorkMod comes up.
2 - If I delete the update.zip from the sd card CWM will not work.
3 - ROM Manager still says that CWM is not installed therefore is not working OK.
Is all this ok? Should I select: "Install sdcard:update.zip" while in CWM? Should I do something else?

That sounds pretty normal to me. If you are getting into CWM then thats all that really matters. The deal with ROM manager is that it doesnt work very well with our phones. But if you are trying to flash a custom ROM you can still do it without ROM Manager. However, you need to read up about the rom you want to flash because it is a slightly risky process. Its as risky as using ROM Manager and almost Russian roulette if you dont read.
But do not delete the update.zip after you install it. I dont know if it messes with the boot process of recovery mod but I do know its better to have that backup file on your SD card already if you run into a problem later on.
Don't bother with ROM manager. Its close to useless with SGS phones. Make sure your 3 botton combo works and you should be golden. Also making a jig isn't a bad idea also, just incase you do screw up and you get in a softbrick where your keycombos decide to not work.

Phone Not Holding CWM?

So I am planning on to try the Bugless Beast on the wife's Moto Droid. The phone is rooted and holding root. I flash CWM via rom manager and it boots into CWM. HOWEVER !! If I re-boot the phone and then power it down and go back into recovery, it is back to stock recovery and not CWM.
How to permanently install CWM as doing it via rom manager seems to be a temporary flash? Odd ...
I'd hate to get half way through a rom flash and have it puke and be stuck with stock recovery !! Is there a link to a zip file copy of CWM I can flash onto the phone?
What am I missing here?
