Anyone help ????
I have set my Hero Email app so that when I get and email, it informs me, and I can open, and read it, This is when I set the pop and smtp settings. But I also get another notification icon, which only lets me read the email, not reply to it, so I get two notifications.....
I only want the one from the email app, pop account, how do I cancel the other notification ????
Thanks all
Ian
That's a notification from the Gmail app.
It seems to me that either you're picking up your Gmail via POP in the Email app, or you use something other than Gmail for your email, but have set up a Gmail account which is also picking up your email via POP.
In either case, if you want to switch of notifications from Gmail, go into the Gmail app and then "Menu"->"Settings" and untick "Email Notifications" which will switch of the Gmail notification.

Dave
Thanks Dave,, thats just what I was hoping someone would say....

Hey Ian, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but my question is applicable here.
I am using the Gmail notification widget from the Market. When I get an email, the widget reflects the number of unread items. So, I no longer have a need for the notification in the taskbar. Problem is, there seems to be no way to disable the taskbar notification without disabling the sound and vibrate as well! (where is my "banging head against the wall" smilie?)
Anyone know how to resolve this. Handcent is the same way. Disable the taskbar notification and you lose your sound notification as well.
I recently downloaded an app called sms popup but am disappointed because it only work for the standard sms app. I use google voice all the time for sms and am wondering if there is a popup for it. Does anyone know of one or is it possible to modify the original to do google voice sms too?
Hi,
I have my contacts sync with gmail, and in the contacts app i can hide the contacts that don't have phone number (Display Options), but in the messaging app all contacts show up.
Anyone knows a away to hide those contacts in the sms app or an sms app that have this option?
I have Galaxy S2 with 4.1.2 and I have the same question. I can hide contacts without numbers in phone app, but in sms app there are all contacts shown, and sms is automaticly convert in to MMS if I send multiple SMSs
There's no way to hide AFAIK.

Click to collapse
So only with GO sms or Handcent?
Hi All, I have a Galaxy Note, not rooted, pure Stock. I have my companies Email pushed to it, and that set SMS Sync to On. However this means all texts I send/recieve are showing in my Company Email account-not what anyone wants. If I set the SMS Sync to OFF, then the SMS Popup does not show on a Locked Screen. I can see in my Accessibility option that some programs can be set to allow access to the Locked Screen- anyone any idea how to set SMS Popup to show on Locked Screens, while keeping SMS Sync Off... Thanks!
In the Mail app, not Gmail. I still want the visual notification.
