Connect your phone to your computer. When it asks you to mount or connect to samsung kies select mount. Your phone should show up as a drive, from there you can drag and drop your files to your internal card or your external. Once you disconnect your phone should scan media files and you can look in your music player and files should be there.

How to sync music, pict from PC to HD7?

Can anyone help please trying to sync my music pics etc from my pc to hd7? I have windows 7 home
you have to instal ZUNE on your PC.. then open it and drop all your pics and music in zune windows, after you can drop what you want in your HD7
Thanks for that I'm trying that music won't drop into Zune. Is it particular place you drop music file in Zune?
You can either set it up to automatically sync through the settings, or drag the music to the lower left, where you see the phone icon, it'll then sync through the USB cable, or wirelessly if you have it set up that way
Either drag&drop, or configure it to automatically add each media type from your collection (music, videos, pics, podcast). The 2nd is a lot easier because you can make it sync automatically.

The best way to transfer music to SGS ?

Hello all- I have just got a 16gb card in my SGS and have been using Windows Media Player as well as Winamp and it never seems to come out correctly.
I always end up missing album are and the some files end up being deleted, it's just not as straight up and easy as I believe it should be.
What programs do you guys use to get music on your I9000 ?
I was wondering if Kies was any good but I found Kies to be quite slow and spotty.
Any good solid ways to make transfers easy, especially with album art ?
Cheers for any information !!

USB Mass Storage cut and paste .
Cover Art Downloader for any missing artwork

erm itunes?? isnt that fruit? hmmm lol yes if you find they work fine and are smaller without sound quality loss you should be good. It will just be encoded at a higher rate thus making the file smaller.......or you could change the encoding rate of mp3s to make the file smaller and avoid fruit lol
I use Windows media player. Just set it to never auto sync and nothing will be removed ever. Also just manually sync the songs u want. I also do this via a card reader and my micro SD card while phone is off very fast.

I'm using iTunes on PC, so I install doubleTwist to sync music between iTunes and SGS

That winamp music transfer is great if you use winamp
Use "Media Player" USB Connection mode and sync via Windows Media Player... it will work... the playlists, however, won't.
So, manually copy your playlists (after syncing) to the /sdcard/Playlists folder and use a player that can read .wpl files (PlayerPro)
All will work fine.
Cheers for the help guys. I may avoid WMP and try the card and reader and just transfer that way.
I am quite picky about album art, and it turns out the cover art app is very good !!
Cheers again, LL13-

apparently your search for media files on sd card is not working .. it runs on bootup unless you disabled it.. try to get a program like switch pro widget that lets you re-sync media.

[Q] Can't find music on SD card even though it's downloaded

Ok so I download an mp3 using one of the many mp3 apps out there (Music Box Pro) I have it set to download to SD/Music
When I open up file explorer I SEE THE FILE in this directory, and I can, via this explorer app, select and open the song and listen to it.
But why can't I locate it on Winamp ? Why can't I use a ring tone maker to locate and use this song ? It finds many other songs -- but not the ones I download
anyone know why ? is a permissions thing ?
basically I am wondering why I can't access the songs I download - I can't assign them to play lists, etc. or use as ring tones. Why not ?
Try finding the music box pro file on sd card and if it exists open it and if the tracks are in it then copy them to another folder ie sounds

nah, I have it so that the tracks are automatically downloaded to my /sd/music folder -- yet still can't really access them or find them it's as if they don't have permissions, it's really messed.

[Q] Music Storage

Weird question, but I transferred my music to my new One and put it in the Music folder on the SD Card. However, when I open up Music or Play Music it does not find anything. I'm using standard Mp3... . Phone is running stock and I'm not rooted. Thoughts?
Try Rescan Media in the store or reboot the device.

No option in stock music programs to rescan. Final solution was to use HTC sync to transfer music. How stupid is that. Even if I transfer music to where HTC sync does (using another program), stock music program will not see it.

Nacho suggested using an app called rescan media.
It would be a complete battery killer if android constantly looked for new media, so it only does this after certain things happen. HTC sync probably sends a command forcing it to scan. The app suggested forces it to scan also and it's literally as fast as opening the app and you're done. Phones where you had to toggle usb storage mode on/off would automatically rescan when turning off the usb mode. Since this uses mtp, there isn't much going on to trigger this.

why not download es file explorer and find your music click on it and then pick you music player to play a song..i pretty sure it'll scan the file after
Btw, I just transferred music with windows - drag and drop folder to folder. No issues scanning media. Not sure why mine worked just fine and yours isn't.

[Q] Downloading music

I have had all three versions of the EVO and have always been able to download free mixtapes with my phone and use a file explorer to transfer the files to my music folder and they were instantly in my player. With the HTC One I can download them and move them and even play them from e'sfile explorer but my music player never sees them. If I connect phone HTC one to my computer and put the same songs in my music folder they show up instantly... What the hell is going on? No SD card problem?
Appreciate the help in advance
You need to rescan the phone for media. There are apps for that. I think one is even called rescan media

If you are downloading legal music via mixtapes etc why not just go to mixtapetorrent.com and use the utorrent app to download the music. You can use utorrent to direct the music to the spot you want it on your phone. Thus no need for the file explorer etc.
Are you serious that this amazing phone requires a 3rd party app to recognize mp3's in the music folder? I can do that but it really doesn't click with how advanced this thing is. My old HTC phones didn't need that.
I have no issues with the Music player seeing music in the music folder..

I'm having the same problem the OP listed. No idea why. Same files my Evo had no problems with.

No, it doesn't need another app to recognize the apps. It's just not triggering the operating system to rescan for media files. Android scans the entire storage on boot or between mounting the storage for new media files (pictures, audio, video, etc) and then adds them to the libraries they belong to. Certain actions can bypass this scanning for new media. This app I suggested manually tells the system to scan for these files. It's nearly instantaneous when you do it. I've had to use it before on other devices, you literally open the app and you're done.
For some crazy reason I can not get any of four albums to show up. Rebooted phone, ran rescan media. Even pulled one song out of it's sub-folder and put it straight into the music folder.

From 3 albums that worked on my OG Evo this morning.
I had the same problem and after getting the music player to play the song it said the format wasn't supported. And these were songs I played on my galaxy nexus fine. And astro file explorer plays them fine too...
