Motoblur for Milestone? - Android Themes

Hi everybody!
First: Sorry my english, but I'm hungarian student and the hungarian education is ****...
Second:
I want Motoblur for my Milestone, but I don't want rooting it and don't want cooked ROM. So do you know send me .apk installer or other thing...?

+1 for CM7
saw an advert this afternoon, but it looks like you may need framework, judging from lack of apks lying around.

MotoBLUR is not just an APK you can install. It is a modified Android framework that runs on top of and alongside the base Android OS.
That being said, consider yourself lucky that the Milestone does not run Blur. MotoBLUR is a laggy mess, not anything like the more or less coherent and well-built HTC Sense.

Oh... and what do you think what is the best launcher?
For example: Zeam, LauncherPro, ADW, TouchWiz, etc...
Now I use Zeam on my Milestone.

And the Galaxy S factory task manager's apk installer? Where I can find it? Personally I think it's the best task manager for android.

is it newer than the .zip on AnderWebs page. If so can i just install from the market or do i have to delete the .zip installed launcher first?
PS: Can you please edit the title of the post like "ADW.Launcher for Donut now available on market"
ADW Launcher's version is currently at 7.8 and it is a stand alone app now. Meaning you cannot update it via Market any more.
worse thing to ever happen to sense creators and every launcher repacement creator. Sucks it's not in the market anymore though. I thought my phone was messed up.
i have idea. Go to market then press search and write home replacement and u will find it.good luck

Samsung Widgets on custom roms

Hello.
Back in the days of eclaire when NY captivate was stock, I really enjoyed having Samsung Widgets, like "buddies" or whatever it was called.
Fast forward to today, and I'm really liking this rom called TW-ICS which is CM9 with the touchwiz framework (I think) and the gs3 launcher port.
I'm really liking hoe the device feels, its got that stock zing that brought me to Samsung, but ics and rooted with a nice OC.
However, I still don't have the Samsung Widgets that I really enjoyed having back...a year ago (when I saw the light and came android from blackberry)
Is there any way to get this buddy Widgets like on stock roms, or even something like friend stream on htc?
Thanks.

Its like you read my mind lol...ive been asking my self the same question since i my self like the buddies, days and fb widget samsung has
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA
Do you know where I could get them? Or how I could run them on non-samsung software?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
Simple answer is you can't. Those Widgets need the touchwiz launcher as well as the Samsung framework files to work. Both of which CM rooms don't have. It is the same for sense

[Q] New member seeking opinion

Hi everyone, I'm a HTC Incredible S user (stock) from Australia that has been increasingly frustrated with HTC support (lack of stock update to ICS due to carrier, Virgin Mobile), so I decided to take the matter to my own hand.
Question been: I have been browsing around the forum for various ROM to flash (read the important notices and all such), but one question come to mind... since I am using Go Launcher (free version, got sick with stock HTC sense) what are the con for said launcher? Is it recommended to replace stock/ROM launchers with it?
Thanks everyone for helping out.
It's up to you, I don't like Sense <=3.6 either.
I think the more popular launchers here on XDA are Nova and Apex.
The cons are that the Sense launcher will continue to use up memory as a system service but that can now be stopped using this.
Launchers are mostly for customization. Go launcher is among the best available to replace stock launcher. If you're going to root your device then you'll have the liberty to choose whether you want a sense based rom or just plain vanilla rom (rom without sense framework and interface).
As of my experience, I'm liking apex launcher for its simplicity and ease of use, but if you are willing to spend some bucks, i would recommend tsf launcher, nice eye candy yet still not a burden to system resources.

+1 for Apex - I like how you can change the name and icon for the app in the home screen among other customisations all for free.
Some apps in Google Play are great but their icons are sh1te
Thanks for suggestions guys! Much appreciated!
Just one more question to ask: which ROM is the best recommended to go for right now? I was thinking Nik's JB ROMs, but half afread the phone might not be able to run it smoothly (store mobile Incredible S with stock ICS update lag like hell...)
Thanks very much.
EDIT: opps forgot to mention, without HTC sense...
Smoothest experience and best battery/performance close to stock:
ARHD or The Second Sun rom
Nonverbose's kernel
ultrasmooth rosie
v6 supercharger
Andrev daemon
Project butter hacks
I agree with markj on his suggested rom and tweaks. If you're looking for non sense rom, give nik's jb rom a try.
EDIT : you tried that, my bad the rom still new, nik will further polish it in the future for sure
Personally, for plain-non sense-ics rom, i prefer icecoldsandwich together with those tweaks (minus kernel) mentioned.

I had the same experience as you when I updated with the OTA stock ICS update... almost hurled my phone at the wall with the lags and rubbish battery life.
IceColdSandwich worked well for me but I'm now using CodeName JB (I like to roll with the cool kids) and both have been very smooth, the latter much more so IMO.
A thing to note if you are snap happy - the camera quality in AOKP/AOSP ROMs will not be as good as Sense ones. Just something I noticed as well as others in XDA.

Emoji keyboard in standard messaging app?

Hi all,
I've come from a SGS2 that was running an AOKP ROM which allowed you to enable the emoji keyboard in the messaging app settings. This is my first experience with sense and wanted to know if there were any sense based ROMs or even a mod that anyone was aware of for stock sense that would allow me to do the same?
My One is rooted and ideally I'd like to stick with the standard messaging app as I actually quite like it so I'm not looking to install a 3rd party app like GO SMS to get the emoji. I'm also really enjoying the experience by staying stock, everything just works and the battery life is ridiculously good! That being said, I'd be willing to make a backup and try a custom ROM.
My girlfriend likes to tell stories with emoji, I feel like I'm missing out without this!
Your comments are appreciated!
Cheers!
