I have a Samsung Vibrant T959 variant, I was wondering if Darky's ROM is compatible with my phone or would there be soft reboots/button mapping issues or just wholly incompatible?
I have a Samsung Fascinate variant from Telus, model T959D, which is almost a carbon-copy of the T-Mobile Vibrant. I'm currently running Darky's 9.2 rom just fine.
A thing to note, other users have said we couldn't upgrade straight from Stock rom to Darky's 9.2 We had to first flash Darky's 9.1 rom and then flash 9.2.
Due to the I9000 kernel, the home button will function as a back button. Thankfully, supercurio released a stock+voodoo kernel for our T959D variant, and flashing that after fixed it.
I'd suggest you ask around on the Vibrant forums for users with Darky's rom installed. It's pretty brilliant. I'm at 21% battery life with almost 2 days of light-moderate use.
When I flash the variant, I am unable to use wifi. With the i9000 kernal it works fine. Does anyone know why?
Running Darky's 9.4 with otherwise no problems

Hi, I have a Captivate, and with the new rotated kernel we can at last use Galaxy S Roms without drawbacks (well, they must be 2.1 roms).
Is there a stable Rom with bloatware removed?
Or what I9000 firmware would you recommend?
Thanks!
Basically can I flash a Europe Firmware or ROM that was based on a Europe stock firmware over my Australian firmware and still have my phone fully functional on the Australian Networks?
I read that Asian phones might have issues but as far as I can see the Australian SGS is the international version.
I've installed Darky's 9.0.2 (which is based on XXJPY) on my Optus Galaxy S, and I highly recommend it Much better than the stock rom, much smoother and definitely looks better!
What was your stock ROM? lexxonnet?
It was DTJP5 as well.
ok Thanks that makes me feel a lot better, I think I will install Darkyy's 9.0.2 as well. Which CF-Root did you use? and did you flash JPY stock first or did you just go directly with the Darkyy's ROM?
Anyway I took the plunge and installed Darkyy's 9.1 Extreme Edition.... But the clockwork mod wouldn't work until I flashed my firmware to XXJPY.... but its all working so all is good.
Hi, I wanted to see what was all the hype about the Miui ROM, and wanted to give it a try. I am having troubles because on some forums they say you have to be on froyo then flash to Miui, and some say just flash through CMW. Im confused
Can anyone give me a step to step guide on how to get to the latest version of Miui from Darkys 10.1?
Samsung Galaxy S i9000(m) Bell Canada.
Darkys 10.1 Gingerbread 2.3.3 Firmware [JVH]
Thanks!!
You SHOULD to install 2.2 first, cause MIUI is needed Froyo's bootloaders. So download somewhere original or custom 2.2 firmware, afterwards watch this video:

And press thanks finally for that advice lol

The fastest rom for me and many others is BOCA RC1 you need to email dizgustipated to get it.
Other working roms for our tabs:
Overcome 4.0
Android 4.0 (ICS) alpha
CM7
MIUI
You can find those roms in the developers section.

Hi,
I am currently contemplating whether or not to replace the stock manufacter's firmware with a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
I have recently helped a friend to do the same with his Samsung Galaxy Ace and we successfully installed Cyanogen v7, which is based on Gingerbread 2.3.7.
However, there is a key issue with this firmware that has put me off going down the same route with my own phone. Unfortunately, the OS forces you to display your numbers in the traditional American format (XXX-XXX-XXXX). For me as a UK user, this just isnt' practical and has already caused some recognition issues with other apps on the galaxy ace.
I was wondering if this issue has been fixed in v10 of CM, or I was also looking at installing Helly Bean, if not, is anyone aware of some custom firmware that is friendly to UK users and offers the same features as CM?
Please folks, someone must know something on this subject? Surely all the custom ROMs out there can't be completely America-Centric???!
I appear to have made a mistake upgrading the standard firmware as the 2.3.7 release samsung have given me to upgrade my phone is the worse version of android I've used to date!
I have hellybean and it does not in fact I have never come across a ROM that does that I would personally tell your friend he should try another rom
