[MOD] Fascinate and Epic 4G lock screens for Froyo JK2

I ran out of room to attach files to the other thread so I started a new one for Froyo JK2.
some small changes that include:
the carrier is shown on all lock screens
the menu button is disabled on the ASOP lock screen
the Epic lock screen is set to portrait mode by default
so the unlock icon is shown in the middle of the screen
when the phone boots
and the battery notification should be gone too, but Im still charging.
I have included real diff's for files that are not completely replaced
so it should be easier to port over to other Galaxy S phones.
it took 12 hours over 2 days to get this working, so don't even bother
PM'ing me asking to port it over to your phone/favorite ROM

fixed crash with puzzle lock screen when phone orientation changed.
fixed crash with puzzle and epic unlock screens when receiving phone calls.
removed message at the top of Mobile AP.

untermensch once again amazing mod. On 2.1 this was my second favorite to MobileAP and since 2.2 is here with mAP thisis the best mod. I personally just love the puzzle lock for some reason.
I used rootexplorer to copy/paste the framework files. I was going to do the settings apk/odex after but the systrm hung and i pulled battery and rebooted. Since the default is now puzzle unlock i did not replace the settings apk/odex only because im cool with the Puzzle as default.
Awesome Mod man i really couldnt ask for more from Vibrsnt Froyo anymore.

Quick question, how did you patch the signature, in the odex files? I tried using dd to patch odex files like we did for the 2.1 stock lock screen mod, but ran into constant errors with boot looping, so I wondered if the offset or byte length changed in 2.2?

just a heads up this does not play nice with macnut r10. i get a soft reboot to the nexus boot animation...stuck in a loop

Using the deodex version on obsidion v3 and it works fine. Only problem is it blows away the battery percentage and the power options. I realize those aren't issues with this mod, but wanted to make others running Obsidian aware of the issues.

Your battery mods will disappear because this replaces a few frameworks.

Only problem I can think of, if it gets borked, how do you recover, short of a ROM reflash? Theres no CWM theme to flash, which was a saving grace.

Before anything the theme guide link posted its a lil outdated. I suggest downloading a fully working theme open the zip and see how the new system work. Also the lock screen png files change its not sliding_xxxx its lock_screen_button_bg.9 ect ect. The wifi,status bar and service signal ect are located under system/app/systemUI.apk . Hope this helps.

I just unzips all the system app the the png are in the system apps. the dialer is in the contacts apk.

Android3.0 theme its fully working except for the lockscreen, to fix rename the png files. I'm surprise on how easy its is : ). For reference download that theme from theme manager.

I think just change "Epic 4G" to "Fascinate" text in this animation, and we have very, very cool boot animation. Hope developer !

Didn't want anyone here to put too much work into editing it since I could re-render it quick enough. Here is a link to the original animation without the "Epic 4G" in it but still says ANDROID.

If you like any of the other colors you can fish the bootanimation.zip out of the CWM zips over here. I don't know where you guys put your custom animations so don't flash them! Also none of the other colors have any identifying text except for ANDROID.

I'm definitely installing the Green Helix one for sure.

Omitting the www.samsungmobile.com, centering "samsung" on start boot would clean it up a bit.

i tried the root explorer route and it was a no go...is it flashable via cwr at all?

Ha thats my video in the OP...Its a really nice boot animation and currently have it on my Fascinate as well....I used the root explorer method and dropped it in system/media and overwrote the current bootanimation.zip

Try Super Manager. Root Explorer doesn't let me modify animations either.

Root Explorer works just fine. Cut the bootanimation.zip from system/media and save in another folder on your sd card. Paste the new one.
Make sure mount R/W is selected in root explorer or you won't have access.

[BOOTANIMATION] SyndicateROM 1.1.0 Alternate Boot Screen

Hey guys, I got my Epic on Wednesday and I've been modding nonstop. I was rooted, flashed to SyndicateROM 1.1.0 via CWM, and overclocked to 1.2GHz the first day
One thing I didn't like about the ROM (about the only thing - it's an INCREDIBLE improvement over stock, huge thanks to the developers!) was the boot animation - it didn't match the streamlined look of the ROM, and I wished the boot animation would match the shutdown animation. So I sat down with a couple brews last night and went to work.
I figured this would be a way to "give back" to the community for all of the help and improvements I've received in just a couple of days, even though I've just been lurking. I hope at least a couple of people benefit from my work!
The animation shows the Galaxy "S" come flying in (inverse of the shutdown animation) and "SyndicateROM" and "v. 1.1.0 EXT4" fade in afterwards. Then, the "S" pulses blue until the ROM is loaded.
The preview is attached (I couldn't link an outside link since this is my first post lol...). The .gif animates faster than it actually does on the phone.
Be sure to rename the file to bootanimation.zip, copy to \system\media\, etc etc you all know the drill. Enjoy!

EDIT: I had edited the previous version's desc.txt before uploading, and Windows automatically compressed the file when I re-saved it to the archive. This is why it wasn't working. The fixed version is up!

make sure you Delete the original bootanimation before you copy it into the system/media. If you overwrite the file it can cause issue's.

I'm still getting a black screen with no boot animation even after I deleted the original and pasted the new one.
I renamed the zip bootanimation.zip (or is it supposed to be bootanimation.zip.zip?)
Then I moved it into system/media/ using root explorer.
Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: It's not even that solid black screen. I see "android" in black glossy font.
EDIR: Now I don't even see the "android". HELP!

Deleted old boot animation and copied the new one in. Now I am also getting a blank screen.

I found a different boot animation. That one worked. No worries.

It looks nice, I like how its similar to the clean look of the epic experience bootscreen.
My only request is that you please remove the 'version' of syndicate rom and leave it clean so that we can use it regardless of the future upgrade. They just came out with 1.1.1 so it just makes sense to make this more universal so we can even use it with the gingerbread bootup.

I really like this animation -- good job! I do agree with sceptor, though. It would be nice if ACS would incorporate this as I really like the cleaner look at startup. Their default animation just seems a bit "much" to me.

I will use it when the version is updated. Love it too.

Could you add a 1.0.2 version? It's the only SFR version that works on my phone!

[Bootanimation] Sydicate Shutdown in reverse

I wanted to try something small as a just got in to modding a few days ago but unfortunately I still needed some help. Thanks to qbking77 & jkrough0728 for all your assistance in making this noobs day!
Just to give a little back here it is for any of you that would like it. Before you ask no it doesn't include the sound. Install it with the copy/paste method (not flashable)
Edit - Make sure you push it using root explorer, I tried others like file explorer and such and it didn't take.
Syndicatebootup.zip is the flashable version for those that would like that better. Thanks qbking77!

Its close to it, but the next thing to add is a blue pulse either under all graphcs and text or just the "s". Just learning how to use after effects to animate and render a .png sequence for me and modifying the desc to make it loop till the phone boots.

I actually edited my srf 1.2 to include this when flashing. So technically this is my stock boot ani. Still working on a blue pulsing background for it in adobe after effects. I will modify the OP when done.

I'm digging it, nice clean boot up and matches the shutdown animation well on srf1.2

I'm not sure why you guys did this, when I've posted the original SyndicateROM animation that matches the shutdown several times... I'm responsible for the S + text, and the loop is thanks to Pseudoremora.
The loop is nice, if you ask me. I'm using this animation right now.
