Did you flash CSC, modem and PDA? Try doing that.. Also, try doing a factory reset and wiping cache
You can use "gps aids" a new app that can download a-gps data for yours region.Program to be found on this forum in development section.

In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881941 there is a nice GPS fix for samsung captivate. Do the captivate have the same chip for GPS than I9000? Can we flash that update to our i9000?
It would be very nice!
If the fix seems to not improve your phone's gps, here is an update.zip that restore the original settings (JPY)
Wrong section.
Anyways, it did help me with my gps. I've been using it since Christmas.
I'm using the google version.

I've tried the google version and my gps isn't better... It seems very bad...
Anyone with jpy firmware can post his /data/gps/secgps.conf so I can make an update.zip to restore the original settings?
jpy already has most of those changes integrated.. ie it can use more than 8 satellites and ones under 20 signal which is basically what that fix did.. here is original file.
but i have changed mine to cold start mode.. i still get fixes in under 10 secs.
In the first post there is an update.zip which restore the original settings

What ROM? Try to flash your kernel from another ROM.
Sorry that I up this thread, but I can say I have the exact same problem but with Gingerbread 2.3.4.
My phone is only rooted. No mods or so, a few apps that need root access, that's all. But it had this issue from the beginning, even without root or any non-stock app.
It seems like when I either turn on Wifi or Bluetooth and turn it off and on again in a very short time, it can't be used anymore until I reboot the phone. Waiting more than 10 seconds before turning Wifi/bluetooth on after it was set off doesn't give this issue. Then it only happens one or two times in a week.
When I have my new phone completely in shape I'll start some testing with the Galaxy Mini to see how to get rid of this issue.
Happens the same here. And this problem sucks!
I have installed the latest weekly stable jb ROM with CM10 in my galaxy s. Everything works perfect but facing issues with GPS. It can hardly get any GPS fix. After flashing I didn't get any fix yet.
Please help me to get the GPS fix.

Do you tried the GPS Hardware Fix for the SGS ?
Before trying the hardware fix, download Fasterfix from the play store and see if that solves the problem

NO. I didn't try the hardware fix yet. I am afraid to do that. My gps was fine in froyo and also in gb roms. Only in cm10 it is causing problem.

If you are restoring your GPS SatNav application from a previous back-up, you should always clear the data of that application.
In my experience, unless i cleared the data of my GPS SatNav, i can't get a GPS fix.
Upon clearing the data, i get a very fast GPS fix, < 10 sec.

Just go to settings/apps/all apps. Select the app you are using (in my case it is Samsung Navigon) and click the "clear data".

Can anybody help me how to fix it?

hi
what kind of keyboard connection did you use? (bluetooth or WIFI)
Reflash with pit files and rom, you don't need the modem for this problem, let it reset and reboot.
