Hi,
I just want to share with you my fourth SplashScreen, it's the same like this, but with an Android screen.
Note: You don't know how to install? No, problem! Turn the device off, then hold the Volume-Down-Button and the power button. Now it should show a tricolored screen.
Connect the device to the computer and run the executable (CustomRUU), press all "Next" Buttons and voilĂ !
Thanks nice one
cool beans XD love it
Look Great ... keep the good work

i was writing up some .ink for my tilt and i pretty much remapped everything all the buttons. and now i have remapped the power button to activate a program pxshut to shut down my device. but every time i would to use that to shut down it would just go into hibernate, it wouldnt turn off the device.
now i am worried that my tilt has been on for weeks, but i have been soft resetting it consistently though
can anyone help my find the **** down ink or a program that can actually shut down my device?
Take out the battery
Lol! Great answer. Removing the battery will most certainly turn off yer device. On the other hand, here is a link for you on how to reassign the buttons Write here if you need more help, Chicken.

Fox.
hey thanks for the help guys, i was actually trying to avoid the battery removal.
i already know how to reassign buttons, i am trying to find out how do you restore a shut down button to shut down your device.
you tried press&hold of the power button, until the shutdown dialog is displayed?
i think pdas cannot be shutdown completely.
there always be a little energy from backup battery (am i right?)
so when you turn your pda off, you just hybernate it.
long press power (suspend) button
No, firstbuddha is right, to actually turn off your Tilt all you need to do is hold down the standby button, and ok the dialogue that pops up. The device is properly shut down then, not just suspended. It'll reboot the next time you press the button.
actually that wont work, because like i said in my first post i reporgrammed the long and shortt power button to do something else. and now there is no way to shut down the tilt.
so i was wondering can anyone direct me to the ""shutdown.ink" or the thing that i can program my button to shut down the tilt, or at least start up the shut down dialoge
use 3rd party software.
hold on, i'll find you something

PowerOff Shortcut
Hi dude
You don't need any app, try to make this shortcut (.lnk):
31#"\Windows\PowerOffWarning.exe" /ExitWindowsEX (EWX_SHUTDOWN, NULL)
than rename it how you want and put it wherever!
Ciao
Hey yall, Back when I didn't know any better I had an iphone and the power button was broken so I had an app that when I double clicked the home button it would turn off the screen.
I went to CM setting and found the thing that let me use the trackball to turn ON the phone, but Is it possible to get something simialer to what I had on the iPhone? a double click to turn off the screen thingy for the trackball?
Reteach yourself to use the power button the correct way.
Yeah that ^
Seriously you are going to kill the life of that track ball lol
I'd like to know an answer to this too, simply because my power button no longer works!

Hey guys.
I have been a windows mobile user for the longest time and its been a while since my last post. Just bought my Captivate today.
I tried booting into recovery mode but it flashes the att splash screen and boots up normally. If i continue to hold the buttons, the splash screen just flashes off and on again. I really want to root this phone right away.
Anyone know how i can fix this?
I tried looking for this but no one seems to have this same problem. I am sorry if i am repeating stuff. Please forward me to it and delete the thread if you wish.
Thank you

Pull the battery and make sure the phone is off.
Put the battery back on.
Hold the volume up and volume down button, then hold the power button. When the white AT&T screen first comes on, let go of the power button, but hold the volume keys.
does that work for you?
EDIT: and before anyone else chimes in, this thread probably belongs in either general or question and answer.
nope that didnt work either.
I guess i am gonna have to install the sdk and go that route.
as soon as the att screen comes on, i let go of power but hold both volume keys.
it takes about 10 seconds, but eventually it goes into recovery mode for me.
EDIT: Based on you saying it flashes off and on again, it sounds like you aren't letting the power button go.
I tried that too and it just went straight ahead to the boot up animation.
I really want to thank you for you speedy replies.
Any more suggestions, keep 'em coming. I really want to root this phone.

On your home screen, hit the menu button, and then settings. scroll down to about phone.
What is your baseband?
What always works for me is:
turn off.
Power on holding the up and down volume buttons and the power button.
When you see the ATT logo let go of everything.
This always works for me.

Honestly, the SDK is the easiest method.
You should have the sdk installed anyway. It help with installing non-market apps. Install it then enable debug mode on you phone. You can do that in the settings menu under applications> development. Then at the cmd prompt on your pc use this command. "adb reboot recovery" no quotes. The phone will reboot to recovery.

Thanks for all the help guys. Love XDA! don't know what I would do without it.
I dont know if I should upgrade the firmware or not. Anyone want to share their opinions on whether it is useful or useless?
here is a app used by me...u can remap any button...
its very simple to use..
s-off or unlocked boot loader required..
just select the key u want to remap..choose the required task u want it to do..and select hot reboot
whn ur phone boots up...u wld have the button remapped...
hope it helped..
I tried this to remap the F button to be Power
And well it powers off fine but it wont turn it back on, i have to use the normal power button to turn it back on
You might wanna look into that
Using this is good, but you must activate it as drop, wake for power usage, ie press to turn screen on etc. Bern using this since last Oct, very handy lol
Oh and you only need root. Unlocked boot loader is not required

that depends on what function you set it to do. for example......set htc share as call end with wake_drop and apply, phone will restart it self and once restarted it will come up on top bar asking if u want to restore buttons to previous state. ignore that for a min and try the F button, it should bring up your dial pad. now hit power button to turn screen off, and press F button and screen will appear on again.
some other functions will do this, some will not...it all depends what u set it as....but for screen on...u set as wake_drop in 3rd column
Yeah I could figure that out with a bit fo research.
My point here is that, I dont want to use the power buton at all(unless i want to restart or power it off). The screen on/off functionality should be taken care by 'f' button.
Can you add more functions like COPY and PASTE? I have seen that the ALT+SPACE (Setting) and ALT+, (CAMERA) functions aren't useful. That will be excellent if replace two of them for COPY and PASTE. I think the physical keyboard has to faster than the visual keyboard at all if It has these functions. Thanks!!!
Hey guys!
I'm using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 gt - i9305.
When I tried to open the hard reset menu by pressing the volume up + power + home button it went into the download mode and got completely stuck over there. The phone has no charge left. When I try to charge, it automatically boots up and again shows the "Downloading do not turn off target" but it doesn't get charged. If I press and hold the power button the screen goes black for sometime and then again it's in the Downloading mode. No matter whatever key combinations I use, this is what happens. Please suggest me some ways to fix this. I don't have a PC, so it would be great if you suggest me how to get my phone back without using a PC. But I do have another working phone.
Please guys help me.
Thank you.

it seems like you have something wrong with the keys circuits, you need to make a hardware check on that phone.
the volume down key and home key must be stuck(like always pressed).
No they're not stuck. I'm able to press and hold them. The phone actually responds to this, first the screen goes black and after awhile again the download mode is on.:crying:

i know you can press them, it's something in the board itself, circuits are touched or something like that, i can't explain because I'm not a good English speaker in "electronic stuff".
