[Q] theming stock lockscreen - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've been able top find everything else I needed to find but I can't seem to find the stock lockscreen files in the framework-res.apk.
Could anyone tell me what I'm missing please?

Define "stock".

lol yeah sorry I meant the AOSP lockscreen.
EDIT: I just don't know what files I'm looking for.

They have "jog" in the filename. In framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi.

Thanks, once again Mikey.

Do you mean Stericson's lockscreen? If it's in a theme then really you'd have to ask the theme developer because Stericon's lock screen is tied in to services.jar, framework-res ect. So if you overwrite with the original files you'll loose all the graphical mods in those files.

Nahh I mean in the hero ROMs, like how drizzy hows the full lockscreen, but I want the stock one. My bad I should be more descriptive in the thread

google apps in cyanogen

hey guys, i know that i need to flash the google apps into cyanogen but i cant find the files for this anywhere, would someone who knows where it is please point me in the right direction.
I think I saw em over there ------>
Well I did a nandroid and got it working.
My next question is thistle, please help.
I am cuurently using enoch, cm updater didnt show.and option for a better lockscreen. I was wondering if I can just grab any lockscreen from another theme? Or must I use a enoch lockscreen only?
If by better lockscreen you mean Sterickson's lockscreen then you need enoch theme with lockscreen included and it has to to be rom-specific too. Said lockscreen makes changes to services.jar so be very careful if you grab it from anywhere else. If you are inclined to try it out then go here and look for the screen for your rom. MAKE SURE TO DO A BACK-UP before you try it out. Good luck.

Mod-request or help. Media pulldown on stock lock.

Ok, so out of curiosity I've been trying to figure out if it's at all possible to mod the Stock android lockscreen to include the media player pulldown from the TW Glasslock.
Of course, not having any dev experience I am not having much luck. Just using some common sense, I know that replacing android.policy.jar with a modded one will enable the Stock lockscreen and also removes all TW features.
So I ran extracted both android.policy.jar files and ran the classes.dex file through baksmali to extract them. I was hoping it would be slightly more obvious, but then again if it were I'm sure it would have been done by now.
Anyway, I'll attach both sets of files in a zip format for those that think they would like to take a look.
Also, if anyone knows. Is the media pulldown from Glasslock dependent on the TW process starting, or is it's own process seperate from the actual TW lockscreen. If it can exist without the TW lockscreen then there should be a way to enable it.

Honestly that much editing in an intermediate language will not be fun. It's not that it's impossible, but ideally we would get the source code, and then we could change the real code and compile a clean version. I don't think it's going to be just a simple copy/paste or something, like the "stock lock" mod is.
I believe CM6 has this feature available, so maybe once that is available, we can either port that lock, or just use CM6.

Thanks for the input. I kind of figured it wasn't going to be an easy job. I've dabbled in scripting and coding, but good lord looking at these files just made my eyes crossed.
I didn't realize CM6 had that either, probably be easier to wait on that or flockscreen from Anderweb, which I just read about.

I haven't tried editing sense themes since.. FOREVER ago, since things like the htc hero / sapphire / dream "were in"
What I did back then was open up the rom file you download, and in it you'll see a bunch of stuff and go into system\app\ and modify to your liking!
I just took a quick look at a sense rom and it appears that "rosie.apk" is still there. IF things haven't changed as much.. that Should be your main launcher.
So what youcould do is open that via winrar and extract images and stuff out.. then edit it!
Other things like the status bar, should be in framework-res.apk (which should be in framework instead of /apps/)
I've only modded my themes using roms from aosp or vanilla so I don't nkow sense too well.. However this should give you a basic understanding! and the more you wanna edit, the more .apk files you wanna open! good luck
On a similar note, I am trying to modify android with customised sounds (lock/unlock/key press etc) and having some issues.
I have directly tried to place the .ogg files into the following path within android itself using droid explorer but that didnt seem to work.
The path i have been placing it is within the following:
...\system\media\audio\ui
Has anyone managed to successfully do this either with a working rom or pre flashing, in which case could give me some pointers on how to do this?
Thanks
am using go desktop...

REZZZZZZZ... PlatLogoActivity [SOLVED/FOUND]

This is about THEMEing, I figure If Im going to find the answer it will likely be here.
Im looking to edit this easter egg on android 3.2. (when you tap android version in settings).I know the image resides in framework-res. and the plat logo activity is called in DeviceInfoSettings.smali in settings.apk . But where is the toast or the text? I could have swore I saw it before on my old device somehwere under strings.xml as "REZZZZZZ..."
It may be called as a mToast w/custom text like gingerbread.
I though I have seen this changed in some custom roms, maybe someone could link me to one..
anyone have any clue on how to change this text? Thanks a million.
(I obviously have very little experience with java/smali)
thank you! and for the first person that asks why... Becuz its the theming thread, and we like to theme!!
thinking it must be in one of the framework/jar files i'll try framework.jar and android.jar first.
[SOLVED]
YUP in framework.jar android internal app platlogoactivity.smali
for future reference in case anyones interested.
now to see if it builds..
Can you please tell me how to find this with root explorer? I would like to finish my theme with some custom text.
