Noob question~ pls help~! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have a new i9000 that come with the mobilenavigator samsung.
i'm planning to flash darky 9.2.
will moblienavigator samsung works on darky's 9.2, if i redownload it from market?
if not, does darky's 9.2 come with any navigation software?
thank u

Darky's rom comes with Google Maps. As for mobilenavigator samsung app, I would download an app from the store called Titanium Backup. It requires that your phone is rooted, but with that program, you can back up your apps and uninstall/reinstall any app in your phone.

[Q] 2.2.1 and Flash on alternative browers

Hi,
I have 2.2.1 and DarkyROM 9.2 installed. I see that Flash now works in the stock google browser.
Has someone found a way to get it to work with Opera or even the Firefox beta?
Regards, Peter

[Q] A few quick questions before going 2.3.3

Hey guys, I'm currently on Darky's 9.3 (Froyo) and I'd like to try some Gingerbread . I was hoping I could clear a few things up first.
Is THIS the stock 2.3.3 rom? Can someone help me understand the XXJVA/B/K, or are they just newer revisions (B being the newest)? Being on Froyo, I should flash XWJVB NEE or XEE - correct? Will I have to remove any current lagfixes (I dont believe I applied it...but how can I check?)
Will there be incompatiblities for things like LauncherPro? Other apps?
I've read about a few of third party ROM's running 2.3.3 who are discussing camera app not working?
How do I save my Asphalt 5 savegame data? I've worked very hard to get to where I am, I'd like to be able to continue this progress
Lastly - which is your suggestion for 2.3.3? Stock, Simply Honey, Darky's 10.0 RC, MIUI, etc? OR, should I wait a little for it to mature...
Thanks for reading

Gingerbread/2.3.3 not released yet .
Newer versions.
All flash lagfix must be removed .
Will there be incompatiblities for things like LauncherPro? Other apps?
Might be it depends upon the app most are 2.3.3 compatible .
I've read about a few of third party ROM's running 2.3.3 who are discussing camera app not working?
yes in custom roms . 2.3.3 is to all intents and purposes still a beta .
Any rom bar darkys but i would wait for the devs to get full working themes etc .

Darky has a very nice GB-ROM (v10RC5) and Hamsterbread is also a good ROM. So just try some different ROMs and take your favorite. I've also tried Simply Honey but I didn't like the design...
Juwe's 4.1, based on JVB, is also a verry good gingerbread custom rom.

Google Music 3.0 FC

Has anyone managed to get the new music 3.0 app from google working on their SGS? I just get a black screen then a FC when I try to open it. So far tried it on JVB and JVH custom ROMS.
Heres a link to the app

same here
Same problem here on my SGS running Simply Honey 3.3 Final XXJVB
What i remember i got the old Google Music 3.0 beta to work before on Froyo 2.2.1 but no luck on the Gingerbread 2.3
FC on Galaxy S 2.3.3 (XWJVH)
logcat says: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.android.music.IMediaPlaybackService.getMediaList
Same on perception ii beta 3 (2.3.3 jvb)

Works on defy cm7. You might need to clear data for the old music player. This is what I did.

From all the reports I have seen on this forum and elsewhere it doesn't work on 2.3.3 Samsung ROMs. But known to work on CM7 and older 2.2 ROMs.

I think it only hates 2.3 JVB and JVH ROMs.

I want to get rid of the Android OS battery drain problem

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S GT-I9000
flashed with DarkyROM JVH v10.1 RE
Gingerbread 2.3.3
Baseband I9000XXJVO
And I have the Android OS bug... the battery draining problem...
I have really tried every solution but whenever I say it is finally solved, the bug shows up again a few days later...
So now, I'm looking for any solution to get rid of this annoying bug
I don't care what ROM (stock or custom), kernels etc... I'll have to flash as long as it is Gingerbread 2.3.3 or 2.3.4
so please give me some solutions
thanks
Buy and install titanium backup (full) and go into backup/freeze and look for Samsung Account, then long press, wipe data, then more, make a backup, then freeze, then look for Software Updater, and do the same bud
Sent from my CM7 modded I9000. Kernel is one mean son of a Glitch!

[Q] Stable GM ROM? Opinions?

Hello,
I am looking for a stable GM Rom with everything working for a friends Galaxy Mini.
I will not be home for several months so he will not be able to modify smth as she doesn't know how to flash Roms etc.
Thanks in advance.
The Gxy Mini is on Stock 2.1. Anything special i should know before flashing?
I believe you first have to upgrade to Gingerbread before flashing custom roms. Also, install clockworkmod recovery via Odin before flashing custom roms.
That's about it really.
A pretty nice rom that sticks close to default is Chocobread. (Current emanom is too buggy right now, although v6 is in the making).
. Installed Stock 2.3.6 then Creed's Rev. 1.3. Interesting that the contacts didn't sync from 2.1. Then, (didn't checked on PC before) i found out that i have no phone contacts on the Google account although i synced them on the old 2.1 before wipe.
Creeds ROM feels laggy than stock 2.3.6 somtimes. I overclocked it to 710 mHz. Angry Birds Space doesn't load past the "Space birds" loading screen.
I told her to test it for a few days but i consider other options?
mebitek's cm7 rc 1 or kitten's cm7 base on mebitek's deodexed or MORe v3
i would recommend Stock ROM!
