My girlfriend is requesting the cute little android guy battery mod for serenidipty.
Anyone have a flashable zip
if u find one let me know . been looking cant find it.
If serendipity has the accurate battery mod you can just take the images out of the framework.apk there in and drop them in the serendipity framework.
Chance has added it to the addon kitchen.
^ this
Just go to the serendipity website and go to add ons I believe.
Edit* at this very moment the add on thread is right below this one. Lulz
i am using firefly 2.2 it was on 2.0.5 but how do i get it back?

I am running Enomther's 2.9.3 (a heartily badass rom) with ADW and cannot find out how to get a semi-transparent notification pulldown. I like the statusbar as is, but all attempts to search for a fix/mod/walkthrough have been fruitless. I've searched every word variation of what I want on this site and on google, to no avail. I found a link to what I though would work,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700703
but Micromod777s themes are for FRF83 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6988969&postcount=163), and when applied to the Enomther 2.9.3 (FRF91) it causes a bootloop. Some of you are probably LOLing at my noobness but I really don't know where else to go from here. Can I just pull the applicable framework from CM6 (which has the semi-transparent pulldown, AFAIK) and adb push it, or will that break something else? Thanks for any and all replies, be it a fix/patch/theme or even a RTFM noob (just please post the link to the M part).

What you COULD do...is simple!
Go to the market and download MetaMorph.
And then look through the metamorph thread in Nexus Themes & Apps
I'm sure you're bound to find one in there that is what you want. =D
edit: and also, I'm pretty sure Micromod's has themes for FRF91.
Best I can tell metamorph will not do it. It needs a patched services.jar in addition to pngs from framework-res.apk made transparent...In the metamorph themes thread, post 66, it is asked how to make the pulldown transparent. Post 67 he gets shut down. So I follow the link there to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6996807#post6996807
which mentions an app called XUltimate Froyo Transparency Fix. I download that, and adb pull my services.jar, copy that into the same folder as ADB and the XUltimate program, and run it. I get the errors i've posted. I've read through the thread for XUltimate and haven't seen any fixes. It's possible because that's a droid forum/droid specific, even though they're working with 2.2.
Like the old saying goes, i'm not looking for a fish (not that i'd turn one away at this point, the way my frustration is mounting); I"m looking to be taught how to fish.
WARNING - THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ROM, DO NOT TRY IT, DON'T EVEN ASK ABOUT IT, I'M JUST GOING TO IGNORE YOU.
Removed, seemed to cause problems for some people
Ok, with that out of the way, in my continuing quest to perfect the new JI2 leaked rom for my own personal taste, I went ahead and deodexed the ROM, and thought I'd share my work for any other devs that want to package an update.zip with these. I have no idea how to add the new modem.bin to a flashable.zip, so I'm not even going to try packaging one.
FYI, this was made from a straight adb pull of /system and then deodexing the ROM using Danesh's fantastic auto-deodexer. Took a few tries to get the right bootclasspath for several files, so I figure I'll save other devs the headache and just post my work.
HOWEVER, this was done after I already rooted, installed busybox, and modified a few things to suit my tastes.
My modifications were:
1) Change lockscreen to Vanilla 2.1 lockscreen
2) modify framework-res.apk to support my vertical, accurate battery mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758797)
3) modify framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk to use the default (non-glossy, see attached screenshot) touchwize drawable elements.
4) Edited build.prop to fix market not displaying all apps error
I'm sorry to anyone that wants a totally stock version of the files, but I've reached my boredom level for the day and don't feel like going back and deodexing the ROM again, and besides, the framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk can just be pulled from any unmodified install and replaced without any issue, though the android.policy.jar will need to be deodexed again if you want the touchwiz lockscreen back.
UPDATE 1 (9/17/2010)
OK, well, I had some spare time, so I let it deodex from stock again while I was afk, so I'm attaching a zip file with ONLY the stock android.policy.jar (original twiz lockscreen) and stock framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk.
Anyway, have fun, and please just give me credit if you use these in your own mod.
Cheers,
=)

BLACK HOLE
This is my latest theme for the Epic, and will most probably be the last before Froyo is out. I'm not sure the framework changes in Froyo, but I assume it will be no trouble to port all of my themes over to Froyo after the release. I hope you enjoy!
First you need to root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770388
Then you need clockwork
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782300
Finally you need a deoxed theme template

do you know how the battery life on a stock deodexed di18 is compared to a custom deodexed rom. I really want to flash your theme. Also, does crake001 for the battery percentage mod work with stock deodexed and your theme?
i'm new to the android world but was successful with changing themes on my iphone. please help me by giving me step by step on how to apply this theme. i already downloaded to my samsung epic but is stuck there.

I haven't played around with too many roms to compare battery life. I carry two batteries and don't really worry about it. I didn't do the battery in percentages on this one. It is on the list for the future. Right this second I'm using a blue battery widget. Flashing my theme over crake's battery percentage will erase his mod, but it might be possible to copy my framework-res.apk and twframework.apk. I'm not sure though. Keep checking back and the percentage mod will end up on here.

Alright, first you need to download the one click root method and one click clockworkmod recovery if you haven't done that yet. The next step is you need to choose a rom that is deodexed, or download the stock di18 deodexed rom and flash the zip in clockworkmod recovery. You cannot theme the stock rom that comes on your phone, it must be deodexed so you don't run into force closed issues. Once your rom is booted and running, just boot back into recovery and apply blackhole.zip. That isn't the basic as the instructions get if you need more help, pm me and I'll go into further detail, as well as provide you with links to everything you need. Everything you need is available here at xda. Don't hesitate to ask more questions.

having some trouble with this theme i have tried it on the galaxy rom by noobnl and the epic experience and on both right after i flash it the browser, contacts, and messaging icons disappear.
Sorry to hear that! I haven't tested either of these roms with the theme. The only rom I ever themed besides stock di18 deodexed was andromeda. I'll contact a few people and find out if there is something I can change in the theme to fix this. I'll pm you with anything I find out and update the OP to let others know. Once again, sorry about that! I believe when apps dissappear like that it has something to do with noticing a change in the md5sum. So I'm guessing that I'll have to sign those apps individually to fix but I'll wait for some confirmation before having you flash a mistake again.

I found the root of the problem dealing with the theme erasing half the system apps out of the phone on flash. I re-worked the apps and just successfully flashed over Frontier GS 3.0 rom, but I know it will work finally because I had the aosp magic rom and my theme deleted all the apps on there as well. It was because I was still theming apps from the dg07 build instead of using the ones from di18. Since I was using stock di18 deodexed, for some reason the apps still took but when I flashed any rom at XDA, the results were bad. I will update the OP and post as soon as I post the fix. Sorry for any inconvenience anyone has suffered.
Theme is fixed, link is updated enjoy!
Theme update! I have been real busy but haven't stopped working on the theme. The dialer colors will be adjust next!
Included now is a fix for the power control widget where you can actually see the buttons. Also the camera is themed now, here are some pics:
**Notice in the pictures the button to switch from camera to camcorder is lighter than the rest, that was fixed before upload, they should all be the same.
Also I themed Tapatalk pro on my phone. Since so many people use it, I'll help anyone who wants their version to match. I'll supply the drawable-hdpi folder and show you how to copy it in.
wow awesome work! Where is that power control widget? does it live in another apk?
edit: I think I just found it in the settings.apk (?)
Yeah settings.apk, just pull out the pngs for the widget or you'll get the other colors as well

I just flashed Serendipity 5.6 on my Captivate. This is my first custom rom and it works great. The only thing I'm disappointed in is I was looking forward to the colored setting icons of froyo. Where and how do I get these colored setting icons? Thanks.
Look for jpy compatible themes in themes and apps section

+1 find the proper theme and flash it through CWM.
Can't find theme
I know you said to look for the proper theme and that it be JPY compatible, but I can't find anything in the themes and apps section. I'm pretty new to all of this and I probably can't recognize what I'm supposed to be looking for. I've been searching for threads with the same topic, but I'm not coming across any. Any further help would great. Thanks.
You should be able to get them from the Serendipity website Mikey has created.
Mikey doesn't have them on his website. I did find a thread that had them attached and said to just replace the current settings.apk in the system then app folder. Does this seem legit?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848533
I think the only issue with that is you might break some settings (i.e not be able to get to certain lock screens).
I would as in his dev forum to make sure though before flashing it.
Or... at least backup the current one before putting that one on the phone so you could restore it if something bad happens.
There are few colored settings icons on this thread. See if they appeal to u. These should go with any JPY based ROM.
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939231
I found someone who posted the colored icon settings.apk for serendipity. I have yet to try it. I will later and will post my results.

It should work.
Find one you like, copy the images over.
Do NOT flash a new one.
Hi all,
A friend of mine just acquired a captivate and asked if he can get a good battery widget etc but I suggested a battery percent icon. I haven't been able to find one, however. Is it possible/does it exist for the stock rom?
The phone has a captivate rooted stock rom (baseband I897UCKF1, Gingerbread.uckf1 - let me know if you need anything else)
Thanks!
it has to be deodexed so you can edit the right files. theres a kk4 rom out there he can use as well as a guide on how to do it. or you can use the kitchen to build a pack. i forget what kitchen i used. i think its the systemui.apk and a few jar or xml files that have to be tinkered with. search for accurate battery mod.
^Nope, framework-res.apk
The images need to be added to drawable-hdpi 1 for every percent, for draining and charging, for a grand total of 200.
Then in drawable you need to edit stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_batterycharge.xml to control the newly added images. The ROM does need to be deodexed, you're right about that.
Uot kitchen is great for stuff like this for beginners. Pick out your battery and whatever else you would like, upload the files, wait, download, flash, profit.
Thanks for the suggesstion! Ill give it a try.
