Hello people,
I just came across following amazing win 7 theme on I9000 forum.

I was wondering if it is possible to port on captivate and if yes, which ROM will support it?
thanks.

On the page it says' for Doc's or Darky's. I'd try a JS3 or JS5 ROM to be sure, test it and let me know how it is. Also it says you need Launcher Pro + to re-size icons.

Hi,
could somebody please tell me something:
I see here in this Forum, that there are a few of Themes, Lockscreens etc.
I wondered about, that this pieces goes only on one ROM.
Am I right, or isn't it so?
I did MoDaCo 2.8 to my hero and are very glad to use a theme and a nice Lockscreen on it.
Now I want to Upgrade to MoDaCo 2.9 and I see, that this Lockscreen and the Theme isn't for the new MoDaCo?
Why it isn't? What must be done to put that on new ROM?
And could it be, if the Themes are for 2.9 that it doesn't function on 3.0 or 3.5 or so on?
Must this themes and screens all Ported to every ROM?
Thanks for your answers. I want to understand that.
themes need to be ported when modaco uses a new base rom for his custom rom. when going from mcr2.8 tro mcr2.9 paul (modaco) used a newer stock rom from htc, and therefore the themes have to be ported to this newer version. if he uses a newer version again when going to 3.0 *probably* all themes need to be updated too. but tbh i don't see that happening, as htc announced android 2.0 for the hero, and i don't think they will release another android 1.5 rom before that.
Ahhh, thank you for the answer. Thats okay.
Where could I see that MoDaCo uses new ROM? And where does the new ROM comes from?
I still see one Update in the Hero History, that comes from HTC as a new ROM.
you can see here in the changelog, second post: http://android.modaco.com/content/h...m-core-chinese-with-tck-featuring-wavesecure/
that he uses this rom:
Moved base to 2.73.405.61

Hi!
If this has been discussed before I'm sorry for not having found the topic.
Is it possible to get a working gingerbread on GT-I9000 other than waiting for CM7 or following supercurio's try?
Isn't it that the two devices GT-I9020 and GT-I9000 are very close when looking at the hardware?
Couldn't it be possible just to flash the official Samsung gingerbread rom I9020XXJK1 which can be found on samfirmware.com on GT-I9000 ?
Bad idea?
Any hints are welcome!
Warm regards,
Michael
theres a leaked version of ginger bread out so theres no need try I9020XXJK1 which might brick the phone or or do some thing worser try this

Hi got-petrol,
thanks for answering, I already know of I9000XWJV1 but didn't write. Sorry.
My wish is to have a pure gingerbread OS without or nearly without any Samsung modifications.
TouchWiz is cool for most users, but I want to get rid of it. I would love to get a plain gingerbread, a working gingerbread on SGS.
Am I the only one having this wish and dreaming of this? ;-)

Don't do that, it will brick your phone. It's for Nexus S and there are too much differences between that phones. You can remove Touchwiz more easier and saver if you flash another theme and install another launcher. If this is not enough you Rootexplorer or Sgstools to remove things you don't like.
Hey Everyone:
I just have a simple question. I am running a Telus Fascinate with Darky's 9.5 and would like to install a custom theme. Are themes phone specific (ie. Telus Fascinate or I9000 or Vibrant) or are they based on either Froyo, Gingerbread, etc??? Everything to do with my phone seems difficult and I am not sure if themes are this way also. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated..

Yeah themes vary from rom to rom, android version to android version. So to answer your question yes themes are phone/rom/android version specific. So I would advise you to seek out themes based on your rom of choice for your device. Happy flashing
NOTE:
Guys I know he should have posted this in QnA but his question is answered so dont break out the pitch forks and torches lol...
damn i was just beginning to sharpen mine

PLZ!!! or AtomicFusion! (same)
Same here port for AtomicFusion would be great
I might be interested in ported my version from Continuum. I've been a bit bored besides going to MIUI.
I won't be loading the rom so I'll need a couple dedicated testers if I decide to do it.
I have been working on a stock KF1 build I created from the original leaked files. (Rooted, deodexed, zip-aligned, etc. - - I also use the Atomic Fusion Kernel for speed).
While I have been attempting to theme the build I used a non-stock dialer and got phone force closes. A revert to the stock dialer fixed that problem.
My point is that Matte Blues uses a themed dialer that might cause issues.
I will try a port if anyone wants to help.
I'd consider testing if no one else steps up.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

I would test
