Is there a location service fix for Android 2.2 Froyo? I enjoyed using google maps and earth on 2.1 but it doesnt work on 2.2
AI haven't been able to get it to work. In fact I don't think anyone on 2.2 has been able to get it working.
Can u get the latest Google earth (1.2.1 I think? From Market) to work on froyo? It FCs on me. I know it does not work on eclair (noted on NookDevs) but even for Frito I still can not get it to work.

Yeah, I'm running the same ROM & the Market fix from the video on YouTube and I see it, fourth entry down from ipop.

If you are seeing "Super Manager(battery,SD etc)" by "ipop", that is not the real Super Manager.
I don't see Super Manager on my Froyo SD Nook either. But I see it as number one search result (Super Manager by Gpc) on my phone.
I don't have confidence these Market fixes are 100% complete. It seems to help with some apps, but I still seem to be missing a lot of stuff (had to download Firefox last night on my phone and copy to my Nook because it doesn't show up either).
yes, you're right the gpc one is what i was looking for.
i too see it in my phone. i have copied my phone's build.prop fingerprint to NC, but still no luck.
sigh, the app itself is no big deal, i just want to understand how market can tell if my device is eligible for an app.

Try using App Brain. I was able to get it through there (although I don't think it showed up in the regular market)
thanks, i do see it in appbrain, but whenever i click perform install, it redirected to market and then ended up with a msg "requested item is not found."

the easiest thing i found was backing up my apps using appmonster on my phone - then uploading them to my dropbox account- then installing them from my dropbox to my nook.
this of course only works with apps on your phone that you backed up; and it really is kind of a hassle if you are searching for new apps.
Hey guys, I was able to get VEGAn-Tab 5.1.1 on my g-tab a couple of weeks ago and everything went extremely smooth. There have only been a few problems so far, most of which have resolved themselves. As of right now, I am having problems finding apps in the market. I did the full market fix, but is it necessary to perform the market fix more than once? I can't seem to find Facebook, Shopkick (not a big deal since Shopkick is in the Amazon App Store), or a few others in the market. Does anyone have a link to the apk file so I can side load them? If so, that would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

So I'm trying to be a hero to my nephew and install some games that do not show on the market. Smurfs Village is my example. He has a Nook running CM7.2 Mirage.
I installed the games on my phone, did a backup, then pushed the apk to the nook. They install and run fine.
Problem is, when I do a reboot they are gone. It must have something to do with a market check then they get removed as an incompatible app.
My searching has found nothing but I KNOW I saw this issue somewhere.
Any help?
Steve
Interesting!
Can you do install, play a bit then reboot one more time and see if it is really the case?
Plus since Google just changing Market to Play, get into the settings and see if anything weird there.
Hi,
I find that some apps seem to be incompatible with rooted Nook HD+. These are NY Times app, Zagat and Yelp. Especially in the case of NY Times app, I tried even older versions, but no luck. Anybody has other thoughts?
Thank you.

Have you tried sideloading the apps directly from their respective sites?
Did side loading work

Those same apps or Play Store just saying some are incompatible? If the latter, it does not mean they won't run, just that Play Store won't let you install them. Get them somewhere else.

Use Real APK Leecher to download apks from Play Store. You can create second gmail account and use your Android phone "device id" for this program if you wonder about your own security and anonymity.
Titanium Backup is what worked for me.
Looks like you need Titanium Backup, even though is priced, it's worth every penny.
You will need (like me) a spare rooted phone which had the applications I couldn't install in my HD+.
Watch this official video from TB, it will show you how it's done:

ES File explorer let's you back up apps. (Or maybe you need Task Manager as well. Both are free anyway and open from within the File Explorer).
Much to my surprise both my phones let me backup and "extract" apps without being rooted.
