I've done searching around the forum, and while I've found some nice looking Windows Mobile 6.5 themes, I've not been able to find any sort of program or guide to creating those themes, at least that I am able to understand.
I am aware that Microsoft used to have an online theme creator, but that is long since gone, as all the links I've followed are just going to the default Windows Mobile page.
All I'm looking for is a bit of software that will enable me to create/edit and save/output Windows Mobile 6.5 theme files.
Does such a bit of software exist?

I really like the Today theme on the new iPAQ's from HP. It's the same Windows Default theme on the Treo but in a blue tone. Does anyone have it or is there a way to get it?
You have to ask iPaq's owner to copy .tsk file from his \Windows directory...
Unfortunately, they haven't come out yet...
I'd also like the backgrounds from SPB Mobile Shell. Can anyone figure out where they are hidden?

hi everybody,that's my first thread here,i'm from italy,my blackstone has a cooked rom "lucapicci nextgen 1.7.2 with wm6.1
i don't like any graphic user interface,after i tried everything,manila,spb mobile shell,pointui....i prefer to use the simply,light,windows without interface.
so,
i wanna try a rom based on wm 6.5 or 6.5.1 but i can't find a picture of the today without graphin interface.
can u help me?

Why don't you just disable Sense then?
i've tried to lookin for with google,i found a lot of pics,but i dont know how is the wm6.5 without interface...
maybe i have to choose a rom and flash the blackstone.....
They all have the basic windows interface you just need to disable the HTC one and enable the windows default, as mentioned above there are a million screenshots online if you use a search engine like google.
from any 6.5 rom...
click start/settings/today
you'll then be presented with the theme selection page, at the bottom are two tabs "appearance" and "items"
click the "items" tab
you'll then see a tickbox list
DESELECT "HTC Sense"
SELECT "Windows Default"
press the tick in the top right hand corner
press the home button.
That's how windows 6.5 looks.
If you want you can also change the themes from the "appearance" tab you were at earlier, most roms come with 3 or 4 6.5 themes as well as the htc and windows default versions.

you are wrong.
HTC stuff works under, like oversized keyboard for grannies, very bad contact manager if you really use it, calendar appointment manager (which allows you only to snooze for 5mins), album which leaves goo in every folder it visited, and other not so easily detected stuff.
Disabling these flaws is not possible. Only by removing these brakes from the rom you get normally looking and behaving device.
BTW. there's many good up-to-date national ROMs without htc stuff by local chefs, they're just not WWE
take it easy with Ervius Kitchen give it a try and 2 evenings... you can cook perfect rom according to your choice... better than asking for any made Me did 23089 with only a basic apps I need, some wizards from htc which are not actually so bad (e.g. connection settings which automatically fulfill gprs, the htc keyboard and phone canvas). Man., contacts, etc. removed )
The only very bad thing with Ervius Kitchen by Sparkienl is the dshow driver, which has to be downloaded separately while the original new version is a piece of sh*t... follow the forum and you will see the solution.
If you are interested, I can upload you somewhere my rom... But I recommend you Sparkienl kitchen in this forum and building your own - really the fastest way, much more faster than asking still for improvements anybody.

Is there any HTC Opal skin for Microsoft Device Emulator and Windows Mobile 6.1? what I mean is the xml file that you can use in the display option.
If there is any, I'd be glad if you can provide me the link to.

Is there any way to install windows mobile 6.5 on HTC HD7?
WP7 has not many classic windows features and is not realy windows like as we used many years ago. As I read, incoming updates will not contain basic windows components and it is wasting time to waiting updates.
Would be great if is possible to install WM 6.5 on HD7 so it will be realy power Pocket PC.

If I knew that WP7 is not avdanced continuation (as expected) of WM 6.5 I didn't buy this phone altought has great thechnical specifications.
I read this forums and I saw I'm not alone affected by this problem.
I am familiar with pocket PC and using it many years ago. Now I have not file explorer, bluetooth file transfer, task manager, cannot create folder, download files from internet and save where you want. There are no software tool for digital compass even it is exist in technical specifications.
I just ask for solution without these limitations.

And when did MS say that any of these features were gonna be available in wp7???
yet another person who didn't do his homework, then doesn't understand when he gets flamed for it...
Unfortunately there isn't a solution. IMO i think the features you require will become available via apps before anybody ports wm6.5 over.
How come you didn't research the phone before buying may I ask? It's been well known since long before release throughout the XDA community that WP7 is definately not a continuation of WM6.5, i'm surprised you didn't know.

Hello everyone,
I hope this is the correct forum for this but I have a question regarding themes on Windows Mobile 6.5.
Basically I want to get a default Windows Mobile 6.5 Home Screen look exactly like a Windows Mobile 6.1 Today Screen.
Now I don't know if I should try and create (or may-be one already exists) a theme that does this or if there are settings in the registry that I could alter to accomplish this.
Basically I am in need of a push in the right direction... create a theme to do this, download an existing theme or change registry settings?
(I do apologize if this is not the correct forum).

its very easy i guess. . .no need to create any themes to get today screen of 6.1 . . .
just go to settings. . today and then on items tab, deselect 'windows default' and select other items like 'date' 'messaging' etc. . etc and then 'ok'
i think this will do wht u r luking for. . sorry if i m giving wrong solution to ur actual need.
